Chapter 11
"Hyung, I don't wanna go," Jungkook whined when Taehyung was pulling on his arm, telling him to go with them and go to Jimin who was probably at his locker, getting his books.
Namjoon nudged Jungkook and asked him what was wrong, but all he got was a frown from the younger.
"You're usually not like this," Jin mirrored Jungkook's expression and frowned as well, and he sighed the next second because he thought Jungkook was having one of his mood swings again. The younger one looked confused, nervous, and it was like a thousand emotions were running through him.
Jungkook seemed off.
He was usually happy, but after Jimin fell yesterday, Jungkook didn't reply to any of his messages and that worried Jin. "I messaged you a hundred times yesterday," Jin said, worried, as he dragged Jungkook by the arm towards Jimin's locker, giving Taehyung a helping hand. "How come you didn't message me back?"
"Homework," Jungkook lied without a second passing, and Yoongi scoffed, rolling his eyes because it was obvious Jungkook was definitely making up a lame excuse. "You know I'm not good with numbers," the younger one continued, making Hoseok chuckle because it was true. Math wasn't his best. Everyone knew.
"You should be thankful you have a face and that you can dance because if you didn't..." Hoseok didn't continue, making everyone laugh, except for Jungkook because they all knew what Hoseok meant. He was kidding and Jungkook knew that, but Jungkook wasn't even focusing on what he was saying because they were just around the corner and Jimin's locker wasn't that far from where they were dragging him.
Jungkook tried to wiggle his way out of their grip, but with Namjoon now pushing his back, urging for them to continue marching their way to Jimin's locker, along with Jin and Taehyung dragging him along, he knew it was pointless to even try.
But he didn't give up, nonetheless.
"I need to go to the restroom," Jungkook reasoned out when he was aware that they were just a few meters away from where Jimin was, and he immediately turned around just to meet Namjoon's face, inwardly groaning when Namjoon wouldn't let him escape. Namjoon continued to push him back the moment Jungkook turned around as the younger one spotted Jimin leaning on his locker, reading a piece of paper that looked like a letter. He couldn't face Jimin. Not now that he knew what was going to happen. And he knew Jimin would avoid him because of what happened the day before.
I'm sorry, Jungkook wanted to tell Jimin. I'm so sorry.
Jungkook tried to push his way out, squirming, his eyes wide because he really, really wanted to escape, and he was frightened - he didn't want to face Jimin.
Not now.
He was afraid.
"Nuh uh, not so fast," Yoongi pushed Jungkook back with a smug grin, making the younger walk backwards going towards Jimin's locker and Jungkook groaned this time because Yoongi was being annoying, and which part of 'Hyung, I don't wanna go,' didn't they get?
Jungkook was screaming internally.
The moment Jungkook felt his back hit someone's locker door, probably Jimin's, and that everyone's grip on him loosened, he made a run for it, but only made it halfway through because Namjoon pulled him back.
Oh, great.
Jungkook heard a locker door close and in a second, he was spun around, seeing a grinning Jimin.
"Good morning," Jimin greeted, smiling wide, and Jungkook was speechless, his eyes focused on him. He didn't know what to say. The older one immediately pulled Jungkook in for a tight hug - a really tight hug that made Namjoon and the others look at them, confused because they missed a lot, considering the fact that this was the first time Jimin actually showed skinship in front of everyone, and he didn't mind as he continued to embrace the youngest of the group. "Where do you think you're going, idiot?" Jimin whispered in Jungkook's ear, tiptoeing as he grinned wider, his arms around Jungkook's neck as he ran his fingers through the younger one's hair.
Jungkook's heart was beating so fast as he was completely unaware that his cheeks were turning red, and his ears followed, and he heard the others laughing, muttering under their breath, "Well, this was unexpected."
"Trying to escape from me?" Jimin cooed in Jungkook's ear, his voice low so the others couldn't hear them. He had an innocent look in his eyes, but a side smirk tagged along as he felt Jungkook shiver under his touch. He guessed Jungkook's nape was his sensitive spot.
"H-Hyung," Jungkook stuttered, shocked that Jimin wasn't avoiding him, shocked that Jimin was still talking to him. He expected Jimin to completely ignore his existence today, but Jimin proved to him that he was wrong. Without knowing it, Jungkook brought his hands up to rest on Jimin's hips, and within a second, he wrapped them around Jimin's waist, bringing him close to him. Jimin smiled. "I-I thought you were going to-"
"-Avoid you? Impossible," Jimin shook his head with a scoff, his grin still on his face. "After what you did yesterday, Kookie, you expect me to avoid you? You just made me love you even more," Jimin giggled and pecked Jungkook's cheek, earning loud gasps from the others.
"What are you guys doing? Oh, my God," Yoongi groaned because he just witnessed that, and Hoseok made a face at Jungkook and Jimin, but that weird smile on his face didn't go unnoticed and it was obvious that he liked it.
Taehyung just chuckled, holding onto Jin's arm as he said, "Aww, Jimin~ Not in public~" and Jin just laughed, seeing Jimin and Jungkook grow even more red. Jin didn't know what made Jungkook so moody a few minutes ago, but now that he was hugging Jimin, a big grin on his face, Jin definitely knew something happened between them yesterday, but they just didn't dare tell anyone else.
Jin didn't mind, though.
He liked what was going on, and if Jungkook and Jimin decided not to tell them, he was okay with it. Jin understood.
Afterall, he was the mother of the group, and that's what mothers do: understand.
"Good morning," Jungkook gave Jimin his late reply, a big smile plastered on his face and he just wanted to wipe it off because he thought he must've looked like an idiot that second, and he felt like a fool for grinning even wider when Jimin chuckled, pinching his cheeks.
"A good morning it is," Jimin continued to run his hands through Jungkook's hair with a smile on his face. The younger one's hair was so soft that he wanted his fingers to roam around a little longer.
Jungkook understood him without Jimin having to explain anything.
He chased after him, took care of him, and chased somemore, but in the end, it paid off.
And Jimin, without Jungkook having to explain anything as well, understood the younger.
He knew Jungkook would feel worried, thinking that he wouldn't talk to Jungkook in the morning because of what he did the previous day, but because of what Jungkook did, comforting him like that, he couldn't help but learn to love the youngest of the group even more.
And Jungkook was right.
His words yesterday could've been the end.
It could've been the beginning.
But it turned out to be the start, a new chapter in their lives.
And Jimin didn't have to suffer alone anymore, especially with Jungkook by his side - Jungkook was going to help him get through this.
It was the start.
It was definitely the beginning.
