Chapter 12

The bed was comfortable, it felt like she was sleeping on a cloud of cotton candy, the thought of cotton candy made Emily smile specially if it was the blue kind. She loved going to amusement parks and getting a ball of blue sugar and letting it stain her mouth blue. The sugar rush mixed with the adrenaline of the fast rides was one of the joys of being a child.

Rolling over she was met with something hard. Something warm and hard. Unwilling to open her eyes and refusing to let go of the newfound warmth she cuddled closer to it. It wasn't as comfortable as her cotton candy cloud but it smelled good almost like sandalwood and something she couldn't figure out yet. At the moment it didn't matter her new pillow smelled good and was warm. Snuggling her face closer to the fabric she took a deep breath.
Her happiness didn't last long a the pillow was suddenly pulled away rom under her and head hit something cold instead.

Angry that her sleep was disrupted she got ready for a fight, only once she opened her eyes she was faced with what Claire would have identified as the most beautiful sight in the world. Blake Redwood stood over her as he tried to make his way out of the isle.

"Was it necessary to do that? You could have woken me up" Emily grumbled as she rubbed the side if her head. The bump hasn't been too bad, but it had been cold.

Blake shrugged in response an continental to make is way put of the isle.

"We're about to land and you need to be awake for customs. I tried waking you but you didn't reapond. Also I need to use the potty." Blake explained he walked away.

From the corner of his eye he saw her look around and then gently pat her cheeks hoping to wake herself up some more and probably remove so of the blush she was sporting. He wanted to ask how she managed to sleep for sixteen hours and still be sleepy, but decided against it since she didn't look like a morning person and he needed her in a good mood when they got to the hotel.

"Uhh...hello? We. Have. A. Reservation. Last name, Redwood."
Blake was trying and failing at communicating with the clerk at the hotel counter. Having enough embarrassment for one day, Emily nudged him out of the way and handled the reservations, after all that was why Daliah had asked her to go.

"You speak Chinese?" Blake asked as they got to the elevator. She nodded but didn't say anything, she didn't know how to tell him that there was only one room booked for the week.

"That's really neat, I took Spanish. Failed it. Twice" He added trying to keep the conversation going. He was sure she figured they were sharing a room by now, but didn't want to tell her it was only one bed.

"Hey look it's such a nice view from here." Blake pointed out as he pulled back the curtains. There was a tiny couch, a desk and a queen sized bed in the small room, the bathroom had the basics toilet, sink and shower, no tub.

Emily stood by the door stunned. She knew it was just one room, but she figured that it would have been a nice big room to accommodate someone of Blake's standing. Instead she was standing in a room that was so small she wasn't sure how both of them were going to cohabit. And the bed. There was only one queen sized bed. Maybe he thinks I have my own room, she thought to herself as she closed the door.

"Ok, I claim the bathroom first." With those words Blake Redwood rushed pass her and into the small bathroom.

"Are you sure you want to try that? It looks, interesting?"Blake questioned as they sat in a small restaurant down the street from the hotel.

Emily ignored him, scooping up her soup and eating. She was still mad that he had known about the room situation and not warned her ahead of time.

"What is that? Actually what is this?" Blake continued as she ignored him. He poked at his food unsure of what he was eating. His behavior was beginning to draw attention from those sitting next to them and the whispers were only getting louder.

"It's duck, that's pork, those are eggrolls, and this is rice." Emily explained annoyed as she pointed to each item while she named it.
Blake sent her a glare and began piling up his plate no longer caring what it was he was eating. She didn't have to be rude about it, he was just curious about the strange food.

"Sorry about the room. I should have told you but I didn't want you to freak out" Blake finally apologized as they continued with their dinner.

"It's ok, it was a last minute arrangement and we should be grateful we even got a room." Emily replied, she had no other choice but to try to be an adult about the situation.

It was getting late as they finally  made their way back to the hotel and Emily tried to figure out how to address the big question that had been bugging her all day.

"Great, so do you want the left or right side?"

Emily looked up realizing that they were back in the room and that Blake  had already removed his shirt, shoes and was fiddling with his belt.

Turning bright red she grabbed her bag and ran to the bathroom before answering any questions. The sound of a deep laugh resonated thru the walls made her wish the earth swallowed her whole.

"Hey, I was wondering if you were going to sleep in there. C'mon." Blake  patted the pillow next to him and turned his attention back to the paper he was reading. Emily shuffled to the side and crawled in the bed tucking the blankets up to her chin while wrapping herself up like a burrito. Blake chuckled and finished folding the paper and turned off the light.

"Good night Emily."

"Night, Blake" she mumbled as she turned to sleep on her stomach, memories of the dream she had while on the plane made her grab a pillow and built a barrier in between them, she would not risk waking to something like that again.

Dear Mr Billionaire,
Guess who failed a class today? Me! That's who. Do you speak anything other than English? I took Chinese as my elective this semester, and let me tell you it was the most difficult thing I've even done, but my school has a study abroad program and I really want to go to China. But that's why they have tour guides right?  I'll send you a postcard if I am able to charm my way into the program, if I can't maybe I should listen to my family and stick with spanish.

Ohh we got the car fixed, oil changes are important don't skip out on those. Anyways we're saving up for new tires now.
                  Your friend
                    EJ
Ps. If you ever go to China can you bring me back a keychain?
