Chapter Nineteen
I've already started editing up my first book...and it is absolutely hilarious how much Carlie hated Draco in the first book. Literally, I am laughing to myself here reading some of this stuff because I'm already like halfway through the book & she literally hates his guts, and he really hates her too. It's so amusing for me to go back & see what I wrote years ago, how much things have changed between them.
Alright anyways, this chapter just kills me & there's only two more to go :'( Thanks for reading this far x
Chapter Nineteen:
Harry wasn't dead. He couldn't be. There was absolutely no way. I wasn't going to believe it. Everyone around us had stopped battling and was walking out into the courtyard. The sun was coming up, the sky was lighter but it didn't feel like a new day. The battle was still continuing on. When we got the courtyard Draco and I stayed more near the back, he held on my hand tightly. Everyone was standing around, the Death Eater's on one side and the rest of us over here. We were vastly outnumbered.
That's when the Dark Lord appeared and behind him came a weeping Hagrid carrying a lifeless body...it was Harry. He was dead. I gripped Draco's hand tightly but couldn't tear my eyes away. The scene in front of me was unbelievable. All hope was gone, Harry Potter was dead. "NO!" McGonagall screamed loudly as she took a step towards him but was kept back by Slughorn. Harry was our only chance at surviving. I couldn't hold back the tears, there was nothing left for us. I know Draco hated him, but the look on even his face read hopeless.
Everyone around us was screaming in protest and disbelief, while I tucked my head into Draco's left shoulder. This wasn't the way it was supposed to end. Peering out of the corner of a teary eye, I saw the Dark Lord standing there with Nagini, grinning widely at the sight. Screaming loudly was Ron and Hermione, whose faces were streaked with tears. Ginny had already had her melt down, and now was on her knees with her face in her hands while Molly was pulling her back up and into a tight hug.
"SILENCE!" the Dark Lord yelled at us all, raising his wand and sending a threatening spell into the air. We all silenced in fear. "Harry Potter is dead. He ran from the battle to save himself, he's nothing but a coward."
"You're the coward!" someone shouted and then walked closer towards the Dark Lord before stopping. It was Neville Longbottom...what was he getting himself into? Then Veronica took a step behind him, Sonny right by her side. Draco gripped to my arm tighter, as if he expected me to take a step as well.
"Neville Longbottom?" a voice laughed. Bellatrix Lestrange stepped right up behind the Dark Lord laughing hysterically to herself.
"Ah," the Dark Lord said in amusement. "So sad, to spill more pure-blood than needed. Unless of course you wish to join us, or die." The Death Eaters all laughed around him in amusement but Neville remained where he was standing.
"The hell I will!" Neville shouted back. "Dumbledore's Army!" he yelled, and then we all erupted. I couldn't resist but to join in, I was a part of Dumbledore's Army. The amount of cheering made me think, maybe all hope wasn't gone. The Order joined in applause. Then out of nowhere, a Death Eater was stepping over to our side. It was...Silvius! I was too far away for him, but he was stepping onto our side. He was joining us. Harry wasn't the only fighter, there's about a hundred of us standing here right now and now Silvius was one of them.
"You're a fool!" Bellatrix yelled at him raising her wand. "You will pay for this, betraying the Dark Lord! How dare you boy!" People were still screaming in rage and fury, yet cheering for the downfall of Voldemort. Silvius stood near the Weasley's.
"SILENCE!" Voldemort yelled once more, sending a dark spell into the air. "Longbottom here will be the example of what happens to those who continue against me. Nyx will be an example of those who betray me!" He raised his wand straight at Neville who was glaring at him. Silvius didn't move either, he wasn't afraid but I was afraid for him.
"No..." I began saying taking a step towards my brother. Then all hell broke loose, and it wasn't because of the Dark Lord.
"HE'S ALIVE!" someone screamed from near me, and then I got a quick glimpse of Harry leaping from Hagrid's arms and disappearing under his invisibility cloak. Everyone from our side erupted into applause and cheering. I joined in screaming along with them, Harry wasn't dead! Absolutely genius.
"WHAT!" the Dark Lord screamed, completely caught off guard turning over his shoulder while out of nowhere Neville lifts the sword and slices Nagini in half before taking off. The battle was back on. The Dark Lord screamed in fury.
With the battle being back on, the creatures amongst us took off all around. Draco gripped my hand tightly and pulled me away with him from the scene. Things were already getting out of control. Yet for the better, over half of the Death Eaters apparated away in pure fear of what was happening. They knew now with Harry alive, they didn't have any chance of getting away with it. They would either stay and be killed or imprisoned, or escape now while they can. I only hoped Silvius has done the same.
"We're leaving!" Draco yelled forcefully pulling at my arm. "Now. Let's go. No more staying for friends." He was practically dragging me out of the room. I just couldn't leave. Not without Jake, Silvius, Nica, Harry, Ron, Hermione, everyone who was fighting. I wouldn't be the one who flees, I wouldn't be a coward. As much as I feared to stay and fight, I couldn't leave knowing I was leaving everyone I loved behind.
"No!" I yelled back pulling away. "Don't you get it? I can't leave!" Everyone began running into the Great Hall and I took after them, with Draco quick behind me. This was it, Harry was alive and Voldemort, well, was pissed. Everyone was rushing into the Great Hall for the final battle, more than half of the Death Eaters were gone now that they know Harry was alive and the Dark Lord had failed. I watched as Silvius tore into the Great Hall, he was now on our side I was sure of it. When he walked over and betrayed Voldemort, he was now fighting on our side, finally.
I ran but Draco was behind me. I'm surprised he didn't just take off. When we entered into the Great Hall it was a full blown fight going on, worse than before. Now everyone was piled into one room and dropping like flies. It was disturbing, a mess. "Didn't run like your father, eh?" a cold voice came from a Death Eater I didn't recognize, as they shot a spell at Draco.
Draco ducked and began to fight back. I went to help but just as I did I was shot to the ground. Now two were advancing on Draco, but I turned to see the worst advancing on me. Bellatrix Lestrange was standing above me, looking wildly down at me with those large glaring eyes. Her wand was pointed directly at me. "Thought you escaped me back at the Manor?" she laughed darkly. "If only I could make this hurt..." she said. I picked my wand up, but she hexed it from my hand quickly. "Now little blood traitor, you'll get what you deserve." She raised her wand and I closed my eyes, "Avada ked-"
"NO!" was I all heard after that and something knocked my hard in the side as I fell far from where I was. When I opened my eyes I was laying face down on the cold hard stone floor. I had been knocked out of the way, but by whom? Quickly I pulled myself up and snapped around. The tears hit me so quickly and turned into sobs as I fell to my knees.
"NO!" I screamed crying, tears streaming down my face. Draco who had escaped his battle run over to me and was trying to pull me up but I thrashed away from him, and continued sobbing. "No!" I cried, "No." I let me head sink down to me knees as more and more tears escaped me. My eyes burned, my head was pounding, and my heart felt as though someone had just stabbed me with a knife. "Silvius," I cried.
