"Why? That's why you come around"

Rob POV

  I woke up with an extreme headache. I guess last night really happened then. My face felt ashy as fuck so I got up and looked in the mirror. Sure enough, my whole face was damn near white. I didn't know I was crying all night. I sighed before getting out the bed and walking to the bathroom. To my surprise, he was in the shower. He peeked his head out "I hope you don't-" was all he got out before I turned right back around and walked out. I really couldn't stand to look at him without wanting to strangle his ass. Like I really can't believe he really blamed me for shit that wasn't even my fault. He got it. 

  Once he got out I walked in and locked the door behind me. "You look a fucking mess." I laughed to myself. I jumped in the shower and washed last away. Once I was done, I began to exfoliate. Last night kept replaying in my head which made me even more emotional. Like I really can't believe that shit even happened. "There's no going back." I deeply sighed. Once I was done, I walked to my room. He was coming out of the guest room. We both stood there looking at each other. I was getting mad with each second and I could tell he was too. I turned and walked to my room. I heard the door close shortly after. 

  I just really don't know what to do right now. I finished getting dressed and just decided to lay down and stay to my self today. 

Derrick POV

  Listen I fucked up big time by accusing him of shit but y'all gotta see it from my point of view. What do you do when yous see baby dancing with someone they told you that was interested in them? It's only natural that I had that type of reaction though. The argument on the other was definitely my fault. I was hitting him with low blows so it was only natural that he did the same. The crazy part is, I didn't care how he felt when I said it because I wanted him to feel just like I did at the moment. However, I do regret saying nothing good from him though. The time I spent with him was very well worth it. Just seeing him smile made me happy.

  Shit I already miss holding him and just touching him. This isn't how I planned our weekend to go. I was snapped out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. "Wassup Malik?" I said upon answer. "Yo kid wassup. Wassup Rob?" he said. Normally Rob is right here with me when he calls which is why he said that. "Um bro he not here. In fact we aren't together anymore." I said as I felt something stab my heart. "What you mean?" he said as I sighed before explaining the situation. "Well damn bro. Both of you fucked up. However you started it. If he told you he didn't know it was ole boy, why didn't you believe him?" he said as I actually thought about it. 

  "I heard that line from my ex before she did the shit she did." I said sighing. "OK be he isn't her so you really couldn't fault him for that." he said as I sighed. "You right. I just didn't want history to repeat itself. After that shit happened with her, I vowed to put my all in to the next person I talk to." I said as I drove down the expressway. "OK but did you vow to never wrongly accuse them of things you couldn't prove?" he said as I thought about it. "No." I simply said. "That's where you went wrong. You really told him that nothing good comes from him?" he asked me. "Yeah bu-" "There's no buts about that Derrick. That was some fucked up shit to say to someone who you said made so happy." He said as I really couldn't disagree with him there.

  "You right but the damage is done already. I guess I can just give him the space he needs right now." I said as I pulled up to my house. "Yeah that's all you can do now. I hope y'all can come back from this. I gotta go kid." he said before hanging up. "I hope we can come back from this too." I said as I walked through the door. 

  Rob POV

  I was interrupted from my nap by the sound of my doorbell ringing. "Who the hell is this?" I said as I walked downstairs to answer it. "I've been calling you for the last 20 minutes." Alexis said as i opened the door. "My bad. I was sleep." I sighed. "You don't sound like your normal self. What's up?" she asked as I stepped to the side and let her in. "Well after what happened at the bar, me and Derrick go into last night." I said as she looked at me. "I hope he didn't blame you for that. You really didn't know." she said as I sighed. "Well he did. That's only half." I said as she nodded. I told her everything that happened last night. 

  "Well damn y'all wasn't holding anything back huh?" she said as I sighed. "You really crossed the line when you mentioned his girlfriend cheating on him. You know that's the source of his problems so you throwing it up in his face like that was foul." she started. I was about to say something before she continued. "Don't get me wrong, he wasn't right either. Especially when he said that nothing good comes from you. That was foul as fuck so I see why you said what you said. All in all though, you both said some things you shouldn't have." she said as I sighed. She's right. "Like literally it wasn't even your fault but then again you did tell me that he said that's how his ex started out too before she cheated so..yeah that definitely triggered some things for him."

  I thought about what she said. She was right though. I knew how much of a hurt piece that was for him but still he really pissed me of. Like him saying nothing good comes from me really got to me. "Rob!" she said snapping me out of my trance. "You're still think about what he said huh?" she said as I sighed. "It's just that when he said it, I actually believed it Lex." I admitted. "Listen to me. You're a bomb ass person and if he really feels that way then fuck him. You can't fault that a guy you curved is still stuck on you. That's nothing to fault yourself for. In fact, that's an accomplishment. You got a nigga hooked on you and you didn't even do shit." she said as I laughed. "Thank you." I said as I hugged her. 

  "No problem baby boy. That's what I'm here for. So we baking a cake and watching movies tonight?" she said as I laughed. This is something we do when we're going through something. "Sure what kind?" I said as she jumped up and down. "Oooooh Lemon." she said as she followed me into the kitchen. 

Three Weeks Later. 

  It's been about 3 weeks since the whole me and Derrick ordeal and I've actually made my peace with the whole thing. I've accepted the fact that we've both said some foul things to each other and that it was best we just leave each other alone. Don't get me wrong, I definitely miss him. More then  anything but we're just not right for each other right now. No, I have not been talking to Troy or anything like that. I literally don't want the nigga. I bump into him here and there be keep that shit as a hi and bye. Nothing more or less. I've been focusing more on my work and me and Lex already got a promotion. 

  We planned on celebrating by going out to eat (she celebrated the night before too ;) ). "You've been working so hard. I'm so proud of you!" she said as she hugged me. I've put off dating since I literally don't have the time. OK I lied. I just can't afford to go through that shit again with anyone. I refuse to let another man disrespect me/make me feel like the last two did. Dramatic, maybe but still. That shit cut me deep. "Where do you want to go?" Alexis asked me. I literally shrugged my shoulders. "I really don't care as long as the food is good." I said as she nodded. "Ight we out then." she said. "Hold up, can I get changed first?" I said a she laughed. 

  "Duh. We wasn't going out looking like this." she answered. "Oh. I knew that. I was just testing you." I said as she smiled. "Right go home. I'll scoop you up in a few." she said slapping my butt. "I got you." I laughed. I quickly drove home and threw something on. I looked decent and allat but not too much. About 20 minutes later, I heard my phone ringing. "I'm coming." I answered before hanging up. I grabbed my keys before walking out the door. When I got in the car, she looked at me like I was crazy. "What? I don;t look right?" I said looking at my outfit. "No you look amazing. Father trap ready to be honest. I just wanna know who told your ass to hang up the phone on me like that?" she said with her head tilted. 

  "You are so dramatic. I sowry." I said as I hugged her. "That's better. Let's go." she said as she started to drive. Well listened to some music and took a few pics (when she stopped at a red light), before finally pulling up to this nice place. "Oooohh I like this place from the outside! I just hope the food is good." I said as she laughed. "Boy this shit is legit. You'll see what I mean." she said as she grabbed her bag and walked out. "Welcome to Libra. Table for two?" the waitress asked us. We nodded as she guided us to our seating arrangements. "OK menu. The prices are reasonable too. Double plus." I smiled as I looked at the menu. 

  "Are you two ready to order?" our waiter said as she approached us with a smile. "Yes. I'll take the steak and shrimp combo with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli and a small plate of shrimp Alfredo to go." I said as she smiled at me. What? i need something for later. Judge your mom.  Alexis said her order next as the woman jotted it down. "Oh and for drinks, I'll take a water." "Same for me." Alexis added. "Thank you for bringing me here. I really appreciate it." I said to her. "No problem baby boy. I just want to see you smile that's all." she said as I smiled. "See? Mission accomplished." she smiled. The waitress shortly came back with out food and my other plate in a bag.      

  We said a quick prayer before eating our food. That shit was bomb! "Wanna get dessert?" Alexis asked once we were finished. I nodded my head as we paid for our meal before heading to the dessert bar. Yup it was separate from everything else. Everything looked so good. I suddenly had the urge to go to bathroom before I could order. "Watch my food." I said handing her the bag as I went to the bathroom. Once I relieved myself, I washed my hands before taking a picture of myself. Sorry couldn't help it. On my way out, I bumped into someone. "My bad." "You good." they said as I looked up. Derrick. "Uh...." "Yeah." he said as we stared at each other. 

  Something about him was off. His eyes were now dull and lifeless, it's like the Derrick I knew was gone. He really took this harder then I thought. "Nice to see you're doing well." he said all mono toned. "Thanks. You look good yourself." I said to him. I wanted to smile, I really did but something was holding me back from doing so. "Yeah." he said as he looked at me. He still looked like how I remembered him. "I should get going." I said trying to move but for some reason I didn't. "Yeah." was all he said. Out of nowhere, my body started to finally cooperate, petty ass. I looked back at him as I made my way to Alexis as he was still staring at me.

  I finally let out the breath I was holding in. "You OK? she asked me as I nodded my head. "Yeah I'm good. Just thought I saw someone." I said. "You mean Derrick?" she said as I froze. "He's right there." she said signaling me with her head. I saw him over on the other side of the dessert bar with Malik. He didn't notice me though, which was a good thing.  We paid for our cakes as we were about to leave. "Hold on." I said as she looked at me. "Hold this for me." I said giving her the bags. I walked over to where he was and tapped him on his shoulder. He turned around as I hugged him. I saw Malik looking at me as I smiled at him. I guess he knew this is what he needed. 

  "Thank you." I whispered in his ear as we stood there for a minute. His grip could've killed me. When we finally broke apart, I just looked at him. His eyes still showed no emotion. "Have a good night y'all." I said as I walked away from them, with Derrick watching me the whole time. "What did you do?" Alexis asked. "Set him free. At least I think so." I said as we walked out. 

  I hope I did the right thing.
