Chapter 7

Chapter seven: Percy

"Nico?" He nodded.

"I'm sorry Percy." Pitch came up behind him and smirked.

"Your own cousin Perseus.....I can't imagine how your feeling right now.." I growled, feeling that tug in my gut.

"I guess its your.....worse nightmare?" The ice shattered and a giant wave rose up, crashing down on Pitch Black and Nico D'Angelo.

When the water and everything cleared, they were gone.

"I'm so.....so sorry Mate." I sighed and pushed Bunny's paw of my shoulder.

"Whatever. Let's just go."

*******

The ride back to the North Pole was really awkward. Like, an awkward silence awkward.

Times twelve.

Then thirteen.

And some other big number.

"Well.....what do we do now?" North asked. I sighed, flopping down on the couch.

"I don't know anymore!!" Annabeth walked over to me.

"Percy....I know, this is hard for you. But we have to pull through. Maybe Pitch is using some sort of...Magic or something." Thalia nodded.

"She's right. And don't forget that he's our friend/cousin too." Jason said. I sighed.

"I know, I know, it's just....I didn't.....expect it!!" Jack leaned against his stick thing.

"None of us saw it coming. Not including Bunny. Lesson is, listen to the Kangaroo." Bunny growled.

"I'm a bunny." I sighed.

"So we have no way to spy on Pitch, and Nico's on his side. Why in the name of Hades's smelly underpants would Hades agree to that?!" The Guardains gave me a weird look, as if trying to understand why I said that, while the demigods shrugged.

"Maybe he gets something out of it." I sighed.

"I dunno. I don't know anything anymore."

"And here I thought you already knew nothing." Jack said sarcastically. I glared at him.

"Jack, lay off the poor boy. He obviously is heartbroken. And he needs to brush his teeth." Tooth said. I rolled my eyes. One of the Elves walked over with a cookie tray and held it up. I sighed, looking at the one closest to a blue cookie a took a bite. It actually wasn't that bad.

"We need a new plan!!" Annabeth rolled her eyes at North's statement.

"Obviously. We need a new plan, so elaborate that Pitch won't see it coming." We stood/sat in silence.

"Ooh!! I have a plan. First, we use blonde girl as bait. Say she want to join Pitch team. Hate Jackson boy!" My eyes widened.

"NO! I already don't like this plan!!" I snapped. North gave me annoyed look.

"We'll do you have better plan?!" I opened my mouth to say something then sighed.

"No." I muttered. Jack snorted.

"Here's an idea. Let's not say anything until we actually have an idea." I reached up to punch Jack but he floated of the way laughing.

"Lighten up Jackson. I'm just kidding." I flopped down in the couch. Jason flopped down next to me.

"Any ideas Perc?" I shook my head.

"Nope." Thalia stood up grinning.

"You might not, but I do."

~~~~~~~~~
Bunny nodded, while the rest of us looked like he was crazy.
"ARE YOU INSANE!!!?!?!? I'd rather take the sled thank you very much!" Leo snapped.
"Or fly!" Jason added. Jack snorted and leaned closer to me.
"Because flying is soooo exciting considered I learned how to do it 300 years before he did." I snickered.
Bunny shrugged.
"Tough luck mate. It's the forest." I wanted to yell at him, but he tapped the ground with his feet, and the ground opened up under us.
Someone screamed on the way.
Totally wasn't me.
We ended up somewhere in a camp, in the snow.
An arrow was pointed at my head before I could even move.
"State your business here male." Oh god. Why wasn't I listening to the plan?
"Thalia Grace, Lieutenant to Lady Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt." The arrow moved away from my head.
Tooth flew forward, going through the girl.
"They don't believe." She muttered. Jack shrugged like it was nothing.
"You get used to it after a few hundred years." He said sourly, leaning up against a tree.
"Lady Thalia. It is good to see you again. Lady Artemis has waited for your return." Thalia nodded.
"That's actually why I'm here Phoebe. I need to speak with her." Phoebe gestured to the large tent in the middle of the camp.
"She's in there." When Leo and Jason started making their way to the tent, Phoebe stopped them.
"No males allowed." She snapped. The wolves on the ground growled. Bunny (probably just seeing the wolves for the first time) jumped.
"Wolves?! You didn't tell me there would be wolves mate!!" I shrugged. One, I didn't know what the plan was, and two, it was kinda fun to watch him freak out like that. I mean, an six foot tall bunny freaking out over a bunch of Wolves.
"Maybe you should have asked." Jack said sarcastically. Sandy (forgot he was here........man, I need to start paying attention) flashed a bunch of symbols over his head.
"Sandy said Annabeth, Piper and Tooth should go with Thalia." I frowned. Sandy's symbols for Piper was a flute, Tooth was a tooth, Thalia was lighting....I think.....so what was Annabeth's? And what would mine be?
Annabeth nodded and kissed my cheek.
"Stay out of trouble Seaweed Brain." She said, before walking off into the tent with Piper, Tooth flying behind them.
Jack looked at me.
"So how did you end up with a girl like her? Cause she is way out of league." I glared at him.
"Shut up Jack." Phoebe gave me a weird look.
"Who is Jack?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

About five minutes later, Jack had not only started a snowball fight, but also threw a snowball into Artemis's tent.

His eyes widened when he realized what happened.

"Percy did it!!" He cried. North, Bunny, Jason, and Leo all nodded in agreement.

"Yep."

"Totally."

"Definitely all his fault." I glared at them. Some friends they were.

Artemis walked out of her cabin, looking how she normally did, only with snow in her auburn hair.

"I know it was you Jack Frost. And I do not appreciate you disrupting my Hunters like so." Jack raised an eyebrow.

"It's not my fault your Hunters are boring people. And come on. There's nothing wrong with a little fun."

"Artemis is right Jack. We need to focus." Jack scoffed and rolled his eyes at North's comment.

"Whatever. You guys are no fun." He muttered.

North walked up to Artemis and bowed.

"Lady Artemis. I assume you know what Manny has told us." Artemis nodded.

"I am aware of the quest you are on. However, I can't tell you were to go next. For that, you will need to seek out my brother. " Apollo? Oh great. Here comes a bad Haiku.

"But at Lady Thalia's request, my Hunters will keep an eye out for Pitch." North bowed his head.

"Thank you my lady." Artemis nodded curtly. One might think there was a history between them, but I ignored that part.

"How do we find Lord Apollo?" Jason asked. Artemis looked at him, her form flickering for just a second before staying at her current form.

"Find him at sunrise. He may be a little late; he's lazy during this time of year." We nodded and started gathering around Bunny, bracing ourselves for the ride.

"Hey, Artemis? How can you see the guardians but your hunters can't?" I asked. She glared at me, probably because I forgot the "Lady" part of her name.

"I do not need to "believe" to see ones like myself." I wanted to ask what she meant, but Bunny tapped his foot and we fell through the hole, tumbling our way back to the North Pole.

Where is was even more cold than standing in the snow for five minutes.
