I really hate traveling through water. I hope this is the last time were dong this. I'd rather shadow travel. My eyes were closed tight. I could hear Leo screaming, "This is awesome!" and Frank saying, "Shut it, Leo."

When I opened my eyes, we were in an apartment building similar to Percy's back in New York. It was big enough to fit all nine of us without getting claustrophobic. Clara turned on the TV in the kitchen. It turned onto the news. A male news reporter with black hair, and brownish blackish eyes. He was saying that "Nine teens killed the monsters that attacked innocent people and the police threatened to arrest them or possibly kill them. One of the nine turned into a little girl and messed with the police. She took a gun and turned back into her usual self and shot the police and knocked them unconscious. These nine teens are proven dangerous and should be locked up. If you see any of these teens, call 9-1-1 immanently."

"Ugh." Piper said. "We kill five monsters, save people's lives, put our weapons down as asked, and were proven dangerous. "

"I know!" Clara said. "I only knocked them out. Its not like I killed them!"

"Clara, honey are you home?" I heard a woman ask in sweet voice. "I didn't hear you come in."

"I'm here, mom." Clara said. The woman came out from the hall and faced us.

"Who are your friends?" She asked as she hugged Clara.

"This is my mom, Selina Clarkson." Clara said. Leo was about to ask something but Clara caught him off. "No were not related to Kelly Clarkson."

"Oh," Leo said disappointed. "Okay."

"Guys introduce yourselves and she knows." Clara said.

"I'm Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena."

"Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus."

"Jason Grace, son of Jupiter."

"Piper Mclean, daughter of Aphrodite."

"Frank Zhang, son of Mars."

"Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto."

"Nico di Angelo, son of Hades."

"Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon."

"So, your Clara's brother?" Ms. Clarkson asked.

"Yes, I am." Percy said. "Your Clara's step mom?"

"Yes, Sally, your mother told me a lot about you." Ms. Clarkson said as she grabbed her purse from the kitchen counter. "I've gotta get to work. The news is loving you guys while everyone else isn't. They don't know what to think about whats happening. I have to try and convince people not to be afraid."

"Wait, your a news reporter?" I asked.

She smiled, "Yes Annabeth, I am. Clara, Riley is home next door. You know she can try to help."

"Right." Clara said. "I'll go ask." she ran out the door.

"Well, there is food in the fridge if your hungry, okay, and please don't blow up anything." Ms. Clarkson grabbed her coat and keys and let the door open so Clara can get in. "Bye, Claire, leave a note if you have to leave okay?"

"Okay, mom." Clara said as she walked into the apartment followed by a girl with long brown hair and dark blue eyes. She wore a black jeans and boots. Sticking out of her left boot was some kind of stick. She also wore a dark pink tank top that said, 'Not everything is what it seems.' Well, that is true. And now everyone knows.

"Guys, this is Riley, Riley, these people are like me." Clara explained.

"They're demigods too?" Riley asked.

"Yes." Clara said. I can't believe she just told some random girl who we are! "Guys, Riley is a magician from the Blood of the Pharaohs. Did I get that right?"

"Eh." She said.

"Annabeth, Percy, I know you've met Carter and Sadie Kane." Clara said.

"How did you know that?" I asked.

"When I was at CHB, Percy was talking in his sleep." She was trying not to laugh. "Also, Riley owed me an explanation and kinda brought me to Brooklyn House."

"I talk in my sleep?" Percy asked.

"Yes!" Everyone but Riley said.

"And why do you talk about Nemo?" Clara asked.

"It happens that I have weird nightmares about Nemo."

"Dude." Clara said as she facepalmed. "I'm embarrassed that I'm related to you." Everyone laughed at this. Nico smiled.

"Okay, so the Mist is gone, people want you locked up, and you knocked people out with a gun?" Riley asked after we explained everything that happened and everyone introduced themselves.

"I didn't just use a gun." Clara said. "I used skills too."

"Okay," Riley said. "So how did this happen?"

"While I was back at Camp Key for a while, I talked to a few children of Hecate and they told me, that she's fading." Clara said. "They still have their powers and can use the Mist." She faced Hazel. "So, you can still use the Mist. Just it would be harder than it was before because its not being harnessed by Hecate anymore."

"So. . . Shes actually fading?" Hazel asked concerned. Clara nodded. "Can't we try to stop it?"

"The gods have been trying. Nothings working."

"Any word on the war?" Percy suddenly asked.

"Yes. Its getting worse. More demigods are being hospitalized and were losing them more frequently."

"Anything else?" I asked.

"Nico has found that the Shadows can be destroyed by, ice, fire, the Gift of the Sirens and something else." Clara hesitated."We can't use these three things at the same time because we can kill everything including the battleground. If we were battling on an island and if we used these together then the island will explode causing a hole in our atmosphere."

"Whats this other way?"Piper and Jason asked.

"If one child from each Big Three god combined their powers and used them against the Darkness, the three of them could have enough power to destroy it once and for all. And the Gift of the Sirens has to be used as well."

"Three children of the Big Three." I said.

"Yes." Clara said. "Lets worry about this later, we really need to worry about the Mist and everyone can see us problem. Be right back." She walked down the hallway.

"Shes not even worried about her brother?" I asked out loud.

"She is." Riley said. "She's just trying to hide her feelings. She doesn't want to admit shes scared about whats going to happen."

"How did you know that?" Percy asked.

"I've known her for 11 years."

"Wow. When did you find out you were a magician?"

"When I was twelve, so last year."

Clara ran back into the kitchen. She ran over to the sink and turned the water on. She held her right forearm under the water. That's when I realized she was bleeding. The blood quickly vanished.

"You okay, sis?" Percy asked.

"Yeah," She turned with her hands behind her back. "What did I say about calling me sis?"

"Right. I will try not to say that even though it is very fun to say." Percy said.

"Okay, lets try and solve this thing." Leo said. We all stood around the kitchen island an debated on what we should do. Clara still had her hands behind her back.

"Turn on the news." I said. "Lets see what they're saying about us on TV." Clara turned on the TV. For only a second I saw her hands. She was wearing gloves like she did when she first was learning to control her ice curse. They were denim finger-less gloves. I remember her telling me earlier that when the palms of her hands touch something, it gets out of control sometimes. Her fingers, she can control. I was going to have to ask her about that later.

I saw Clara's mother on TV. "These teens we don't need to worry about. They obviously saved many lives by destroying those monsters. The police men and women were threatening them. It wasn't right for the police to do that without an explanation. They saw those teens save peoples lives and that brunette girl helped get people to those ambulances."

"Selina, I understand why you think this, but if these teens get out of control, they could hurt innocent people. Isn't one of them your daughter?" Said the man next to her. At the daughter comment, the room got very cold.

"Cold room." Riley said. The cold room went back to its usual temperature.

"She's not my daughter." Selina said. "She's my step daughter. And she only acted this way because she, her brother, and their friends were being threatened. I know her better than she knows herself. She would never hurt anyone who is innocent!"

"I think not. She has powers and so do four more of these freaks. One boy opened a crack in the earth another turned into different animals and one girl pulled up riches out of the earth! Who says the rest of them don't have powers."

"They won't harm us." Ms. Clarkson was really trying to get us in the clear. "They've been through more than you can possibly imagine."

"There only teenagers they didn't go through anything bad, except exams."

"They mean no harm. But if you attack them, they will attack you. If you kill any of them, more powerful beings will take care of us. If you value children's lives, your lives then don't harm them."

"We can't just let dangerous people roam around the world with these powers that can harm us!" The man said.

"Johnson, you can't harm these kids."

"Did she just say Johnson?" Clara and Nico asked.

"Yes, why?" Frank said. Clara moved closer to the TV.

"It is him." Clara said. "He must've taken the last person's place. He's trying to kill us. And if we're dead or arrested-"

"We can't stop the Darkness from ending the human race." Nico finished.

"How exactly does that work?" I asked.

"They already have Max in their custody. They've made a link so if Nico dies, so does Max. It doesn't work the other way around. But if that does happen the darkness inside Johnson, Max and Nico will spread from person to person and people will tear each other apart. For example, Percy and Annabeth will end up killing each other same for anyone else including the gods." Clara said as she turned to us. She didn't realize that her arms we crossed and we could see the gloves.

"Yeah that sums it up." Nico said. "In other words, I better not die."

"Yeah I don't want to become a out of control crazy person." Leo said.

"Neither do I." Jason agreed.

"So Johnson is trying to convince the people that were dangerous." Piper said. "He's talking again."

"There could be more of these people." Johnson was saying. "There could be groups of people like them with those powers and stuff. We've never faced anything like this before. We need to put this threat down."

"You can't with out the consequences getting in the way. So many things can go wrong. These kids are harmless unless you try to harm them."

"The US government think other wise. Military troops are everywhere from New York to San Francisco. They're even in Florida. Yeah. Our home state!These freaks will be contained and possibly put down."

"You can't do that." She stood up and walked out of the studio.

"I can't believe the military is everywhere!" Hazel said. "What do we do now?"

"People are going to die if we don't try to fight for our freedom." I said.

"We can't let mortals do this to people like us." Piper said.

"People like us." Clara muttered. "That's a song."

"Cool, now what are we supposed to do?" Leo asked totally freaking out.

"We have to fight." I said. "We've been through so much in our lives. Some more than others. We've seen people die, we've experienced death, came back to life, some of us traveled through Tartarus and back, we've even suffered from the effects from war. Even mortals experienced death, war and died themselves. We saved our world, their world many times. We fought for what was right. Now we need to fight for what's right for demigods. We shouldn't be killed just because of our past, or how we saved lives or our parents. No offense. We shouldn't die because we helped people. If we die we need to die fighting."

"That was an amazing speech." Leo said. "I'm literally speechless right now. And that's weird because I'm never speechless."

"Annabeth is right. I can't believe after all we've been through we'd die from mortals thinking were monsters." Piper said. "We need to fight for what's right. Freedom."

"Do we all agree?" I asked. Everyone nodded.

"We can't go down without a fight." Frank said.

"We're the Heroes of Olympus! We can do anything!" Leo said. "Except, use technology, not blow anything up, and explain to Hazel what a chicken nugget is."

"I still don't have an answer!" Hazel complained. We all laughed.

BOOM! The front door burst open.

"And you won't get one." Said a man in a military uniform. "Your under arrest and if you do anything, my team will blow this building up."
