Chapter 18
In his five millennia of existence, Daemon has never met a pair of humans quite like these two.
"I just saved our lives," she mutters, remnants of the dark smoke still clinging to her.
"Lee, you totally owe me now."
The blonde haired boy shakes his head.
"You forced me to run past a group of assassins singing 'Kumbaya', as Daemon and you snuck through the woods."
He pauses.
"You also shoved me off a building."
Skylar groans.
"First of all, it was only two storeys - "
Lee snorts in disbelief.
" - And second of all, I saved your life, so it cancels out."
Daemon sighs.
"Sometimes I really question your mental stability, Sky."
"Me? I've met potatoes that are saner than you."
Lee growls.
"Careful, Thorne, You're one insult away from starting a war."
She scoffs gesturing at him with her gun.
"You're one insult away from being shot."
The boy turns to Daemon, rolling his eyes.
"Demon, I refuse to have this negativity within my eyesight. Remove it from my presence."
He slips a knife out of his boot, before pointing it at Skylar.
"Daemon. What are you doing?"
He shrugs.
"Sorry Sky, but he's the one who summoned me."
She shrieks.
"Excuse me, I wore the lemon hat too."
He edges closer.
"That's it. I've tried my best to be polite but I swear to God, if you move that knife a centimetre closer to me, I will rip you to pieces."
Daemon laughs, before throwing the blade at a nearby tree.
"How have you two managed not to kill each other yet?"
