Chapter 32

Jack's POV: October 31

I jogged up the stairs to Elsa's door and knocked. I felt both nervous and excited.

I was about to tell the one I loved that I love them! Kind of scary, actually.

I grinned at her as she opened the door, still in her Snow Queen costume.
She kindly invited me inside where Merida was sprawled out on her bed, snoring.

I chuckled as I thought about what my older 'brother' Bunny would say. Probably something like, "Look at 'er, all tuckered out," in his Aussie accent.

"Don't mind Merida," Elsa told me and I laughed lightly. "So," she continued. "What did you want to talk to me about, I also have something to tell you!"

"You can tell me first," I let her go ahead. Was it possible that she was going to say she liked me?

"As of tonight, the "Snow Queen" has a King," she grinned. What?

"You...you have a boyfriend," I realized.
"Yeah," she nodded. "Isn't it great?" I barely managed to nod, still in shock.

"It's Tadashi, isn't it," I choked out.

"Yes! It was so romantic, he asked me when we came home while we were walking," she chatted on, I barely listened.

"So, anyways, what were you gonna tell me?"

I looked into her shining blue eyes and realized just how happy she was. "I was just gonna tell you that you looked really beautiful tonight, in your costume."

"That's so sweet, Jack," she smiled at me. "Thank you."

"Yeah, no problem," I said, almost a whisper. I slowly turned away and quickly left to conceal my unmanly tears.

I managed to get halfway to the boys dorms when I just muttered, "Screw it," and started to bawl.

The drops of salty water fell from my eyes and landed on the ground as ice crystals, breaking upon impact.

The crystals were beautiful like her, and they shattered on the cement, just like my dreams.

I was surprised to see Tooth, flying around the boys' dorms.

I tried to wipe away my tears, but she'd already spotted me. "Jack? Have you been crying?"

"Yeah, mom," Tooth was my 'mom', part of our makeshift family the Guardians put together to make me feel more wanted.

"What's wrong? Tell me what happened," she softly demanded.

"You know the girl I was dating, Rapunzel?" I waited for her to nod and then continued my explanation.

"We broke up because we both had feelings for other people," I bit my lip to stop the rest of my cries from coming out.

"Oh, honey," she tightly hugged me, not realizing there was more.

"That's not all," I whispered. "I went to ask out the girl I like, but she liked this other guy and he asked her first."

She looked at the ground for a while, most likely unsure of what to tell me.

I was surprised when she said, "You have to win her back." I looked at her, shocked. That was absolutely the last thing I expected her to say.

"How?" I was so confused.

"Listen for Manny's words, he told me to come find you. Listen to him, he'll help you."

She quickly hugged me and kissed my forehead, bidding me farewell and good luck. I looked into the night, watching her fly away.

I peered up at the Moon, whispering, "What now?"

November 5 (Saturday) (Jack's POV)

I woke up feeling oddly happy despite the predicament I was in. I figured if I have to win Elsa over, I should start with the role I have now. Best friend.

I lightly knocked and leaned my ear on the door to hear her voice. I'd never had the privilege of hearing her morning voice.

I heard it, alright, but something that she said made me tense up.

"Dashi," she whined. "Go get the door." I heard a laugh and footsteps before a tall guy opened the door. A guy I could only assume was Tadashi.

"Uh, can I help you?" He asked, genuinely confused. I was confused, what on earth were they doing in there?

"I'm here to see Elsa," I said, but it sounded more like a question.

He slowly nodded and called to her, her response being a groan. "Arendelle's don't do mornings," she grumbled.

I laughed, "Frost's do." I heard her feet on the floor and she appeared at the doorway.

"Frosty!" She giggled, tackling me in a hug. "Hey," I said, hugging her back.
"Am I...interrupting something?" I asked, motioning to Tadashi.

"No, why would you think that?" She cocked her head to the side a little bit and I laughed.

"Well," I started. "I can't really come up for a good explanation why he was in your room."

Her confused look changed to one of shock and embarrassment.

"Jack Frost," she slapped me on the shoulder. "He can hear you!" I chuckled as her face turned bright red.

"Be careful, Elsa," I warned her. "No Sixteen and Pregnant for you."

She continued to assault me as we heard embarrassed coughs coming from her dorm. "Please, Merida is sleeping here, too."

"So, Jack, are you going to ask out this mysterious girl you like?" She asked.

I jumped a bit, startled since I hadn't expected her to ask that. "Well," I said smoothly, gaining my composure. "Right now we're just friends, but I'm hoping to change that."

She smiled at me, still completely oblivious that I was talking about her.

"That's good, Jack." I was surprised when she suddenly hugged me, a chilly hug that felt so welcoming.

She pulled away, smiling at me. "Are you happy, Jack?" I nodded, solemnly. "I'm happy your happy," she told me.
I chuckled, "Well, I'll leave you lovebirds alone now."

She hit me lightly on the shoulder before hugging me goodbye. I sighed as I shut the door.

This might be harder than I thought.

Peter's POV

I whistled to myself as I thought back to the dance a few days before with Wendy. She looked beautiful in her costume, dressed up as Princess Leia.

We'd had a lot of fun. Alice had reluctantly tagged along, afraid she'd be a third wheel. I'd reassured her it was fine.

Wendy had seemed relieved since she rode in the middle of the Doom Buggy. I chuckled thinking back on the memory.

Wendy really is a sweet girl, as she's always been.

Tinkerbell was going to meet me today at the diner so we could just catch up, talk, her being my best friend.

Some of the guys teased me for having a girl best friend, but I thought nothing of it. Except for Jack, since he has Elsa.
Besides, I can be friends with whoever I want.

Being me, I practically skipped to the diner. People gave me weird stares, but I could care less.

That's me, Peter Pan, the boy who doesn't want to grow up.

I hopped inside the restaurant and slid into the booth where Tink sat, a pink lemonade waiting for me on the table.

"Hey, Tink," I greeted, taking a sip of lemonade. "Hey, Peter." I grinned at her as we started to talk about the dance and just about everything else.

"So," Tink said, "You went to the dance with Wendy?" I nodded gleefully at the start of the conversation.

"It was fun, Alice tagged along, but still fun," She nodded and reluctantly asked, "Are you guys a couple now?"

I slightly frowned, shaking my head, "No, not yet at least." I popped my usual grin and she smiled.

"That's great, Peter." I noticed her forced smile.

"Is there something wrong, Tink?" She shook her head before saying, "It's just, I don't want this Wendy thing to come between us."

Is she...jealous?

Knowing Tink, I just decided to comfort her and move on. "Tink, you know I'd never let anything come between us."

She smiled at me as I took her hand. "I know," she looked down. "I just worry you'll forget about me."

"That's crazy, I could never forget you. You're my best friend."

"Thanks," she beamed at me. "No problem." We talked and hung out the rest of the day, just like we always would.

I noticed Tink still seemed a little distant, I don't think Wendy coming between us is what's bothering her.

So what is?
