Talno observed the structure he found himself in and thought that maybe he could live here. It was a safe haven, insulated from the cold and heat, and it had large stores of food from the previous occupants. The only problem was water. He was still dehydrated and would soon collapse again, but suddenly he remembered! The water from his village came from an underground spring, so Talno reasoned that if he dug deep enough he would find water. It was his last hope. So he dug for hours, and his headache raged. Eventually Talno collapsed, and his eyes began to close, but on his cheek he felt the cool sensation of water, and his eyes lit up. He cupped the water in his hands and drank for what seemed like infinity, it tasted like the dust of the wastes and put a sick feeling in Talno's stomach, but ultimately it did the trick, and for once in a long while, Talno had a good sleep.
