{2} Cheating
On my 10th birthday, my parents surprised me with the best gifts ever. 94 crayola crayons and these markers that smelt funny and when through the paper called sharpies. 5 of them. Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink and Green. I was so happy I ran over to the boy's next door, so I could prove he was not the only one could draw. He was waiting.
"Hello Dogfish."
He smile cruelly.
"Look what I got!"
I squealed, showing him my crayons and markers. He scoffed.
"Look."
He said, mocking my tone. He shoved a 12 pack of sharpies in a carry case at me, with 184 crayons.
"My crayons are better. I win again. Your parents are just trying to flatter you, make you feel better 'bout your cheating father."
He grinned.
"Cheatin'?"
I replied, tears coming to my eyes.
"Yep. Are you dumb as well as can't draw?"
He said cruelly.
"Poor Dogfish don't know what cheatin' is."
"I do so!"
I yelled, face red. I ran home then, and my mum saw me crying.
"Sweetie, whats wrong?"
She asked, her thick Louisianan accent making her speech sound funny. I loved her so much. I ran into her eyes and cried.
"The boy next door says Daddy is cheating!"
"What?"
She replied. She forced me to look at her, and said,
"That ain't true."
I nodded.
"It is! He said so!"
She shook her head.
"Never, me and your daddy love each other."
She said, smiling.
"Always?"
I asked her.
"Always."
Hope you enjoyed!
