A lovely question from kaitosbae: What would you do if someone called your best friend THEIR best friend?

I've faced this situation before only once. I had to fight the urge to scream "MINE" at them. I was really awkward about it, like, "oh. Well. I mean, yeah, you guys are close..."

It was even more awkward because my best friend was right there, and also because I had considered the other person my best friend only a few months previously.

I'm insecure so I assume everyone is going to leave me for someone better, so I have trouble with that kind of thing. It's... not something I like going through.
