"What the heck is going on?! We've lost four people now!" Buddy cried out, standing beside his friend Mel. The pug had come to him that morning complaining about a terrible nightmare he had. Nearby, Chloe was sobbing as she watched Ozone and Tattoo wrap Pepe's mangled body in a sheet. Gidget was trying to comfort the tabby while Pops brought her some water.

"I was too late to save him!" Chloe yowled, blinded by her tears. Patting her on the back gently, Duke whispered, "There was nothing anyone could do." Chloe cried harder at that. Glaring at his brother, Max punched Duke in the leg.

Foot thumping on the ground as he gazed out the window, Snowball declared, "This is definitely the work of a murderer. And I'm not going to stand by and watch as another friend of mine gets killed by this guy... or girl." Turning around to face the rest of the gang, he asked, "Do I have any volunteers to help me?" Ozone and Tattoo were the first, followed by Duke.

Nodding his head quietly, Snowball accepted their choices and cautioned before he left, "Be careful everyone. The murderer can strike anyone..."
