Chapter 43
Gidget woke up to find herself in a familiar forest. "Oh no... not again..." she whimpered, quickly getting to her paws. Turning to run, she only succeeded in bumping into a furry leg. Gulping, she tipped her head back to come face to face with Scourge. Smiling, the giant wolf almost purred, "Hey little lady, what are you doing out here? And so alone too?"
"You filthy murderer!" Gidget barked angrily, throwing a punch. The fluffy white Pomeranian nailed Scourge right in the mouth. Backing away from her in shock, the giant wolf spat a bloody tooth onto the forest floor. Wiping away the blood that was on his lips, he remarked, "Fiesty, are we? You might just be as courageous as your friend." He slowly and deliberately made his way towards Gidget as she stood where she was growling threateningly. But the closer the wolf got, the more her confidence began to fade. Frightened, she backed up.
Just then, something caught Gidget's eye. There was one tree, an old birch with skeleton like branches, that looked familiar to her. Turning her head left and right, the Pomeranian realized that she could recognize every tree and stone in the area. She also noticed how Scourge seemed to be putting himself in between her and the skeleton birch. Putting two and two together, she smiled as she said, "You're buried here, aren't you?"
Stopping in his tracks, Scourge asked, "Why you think that?" He seemed nervous when he spoke. Having all the evidence she needed, Gidget waved to the giant wolf as she responded, "Guess you'll have to figure that one out. Bye." With that, she forced herself to wake up.
Still standing where he was, Scourge muttered, "What just happened?"
