And then it was like all the light in the world suddenly disappeared.

Darkness surrounded the area, but was it merely there, or just another illusion?

Was it there before, were we all just too blind to see it?

Was it really all that bad? Humans sought out the darkness when the light became too much. Darkness brought sleep which brought rest which brought energy.

Darkness brought stars which brought hope which brought joy.

But that's just the flip side of the coin.

Or was it really?

With sleep came nightmares, with rest came vulnerability, with energy came the lack of it afterwards.

With stars came shadows, falling upon others who are trying to shine out. With hope came despair when it is gone.

With joy came the suffering of others.

But that was one and the same. The stars were merely pinprick of light that was there thousand or maybe millions of years ago.

Then how do we know they were really there? How do we know they continued to exist.

How do we know how long ago it was. After all, if time is just an illusion, aren't we all just slowly dying?

All of this can occur in the darkness. It might be time to flip the coin.
