(Y/n) POV

Flashback 5 years

I was flying over some human city just observing them. I noticed that my friend Typhereous (above) flew up next to me 

"Observing them again, hmm (D/n)" (means dragon name) I just sighed and said 

"They always fascinated me. I just want to know more about them" 

"I know what you want, but it isn't our place to get involved with them" he said  

"Why not? They slaughter each other in their wars yet we could easily keep them in peace and restore order to the world?" I said turning to him 

"You now why we can't. We must not allow the mystical world and the human world to come into contact otherwise the humans would destroy everything that we and they hold dear" I was about to continue our argument till I felt a pulse of strong magical power 

"Typhereous, you felt that as well right?" 

"Yeah, let's investigate" and we flew off in the direction.

Time skip

We arrived over another one of the human city's but something was off about it, the lack of any life was what was very disturbing 

"Typhereous, there's no humans down there" I said and he nodded in agreement and we flew down to the ground. 

"There's nothing here" he said sniffing the ground 

"I can't seem to sense that magic energy anymore, but what ever it was, it is what did this" I started to walk through the streets. I was at the city limits when I felt the pulse again but it was moving fast away from me. 

"Typhereous, I found it and I going after it" I said and started to fly after it. I got closer to it and noticed that it didn't have a particular shape and it started to glow purple 'What is that?" I thought and it shot a beam at me. I just was flying there bracing until the beam never hit me, I opened my eyes to see that Typhereous take the hit for me and was falling down to the ground 

"Typhereous!" I yelled and flew down to where he was laying 

"(D/n)? Is that you?" he said weakly 

"Yes, I'm here. Why did you take the hit for me?" 

"I wanted you to live your life. You said you wanted to learn about human's, now you can, but promise me this. You will keep this from ever happening again" 

"I promise" I said and he toke one last breath and died. I let out a roar of pure furry and rage that shook the area around us and blew over trees and building's. I then cast a spell that made his body dissipate and I drew a symbol on a rock nearby, it was a figure eight with lines going through it vertically and horizontally. Before I flew off I toke one last look and thought 'I'll keep my promise and I'll avenge you, my friend' and then left the area.

Back to present

I haven't thought about that in months 'I'm so sorry Typherous, I've been failing your last wish' I thought as I was lying on my bed in the dorm I was given. I also had to get some sleep because of some tests that they wanted to put me through. 

Time skip to next morning

I woke up and put on the uniform that I was given and went out into the hall. As I was walking by I got hit in the face by a door and it turns out, it was the group of four that I had known from yesterday which were called team RWBY 

"Oh, sorry (Y/n)" Ruby said because she opened the door 

"It's fine" I said getting up from the ground 

"Where are you going?" she asked me and I gave her my schedule and her eyes now had sparkles in them 

"You have the same schedule as us!" she said and her team mates came out of the dorm room 

"Come on Ruby we have to get going" Weiss said to her and she said

"Alright, come on (Y/n), we'll show you the way there" she said and we all went off to the class.
