Chapter 2

A/N: This story is probably going to have updates once or twice a month, seeing how production is going now. Enjoy, everything is with reason, don't you guys worry about nothing too much. Ah, yeah. I also edited while I was disoriented so sorry for any misspelled words or disorganized sentences.

"Hey, Stan have you seen Ford? The cart mysteriously fell apart into, like, a gazillion pieces and Wendy and I need it for... work purposes." The girl's eyes were squinted, as if she expected the lie to fall apart instantly, which it did. Stan already knew Wendy barely worked, and if she ever needed the cart, it sure as hell wasn't going to be used for 'work purposes'.

"The owl's in its burrow, pumpkin." Stan grumbled in his gravelly voice, trying to fit all of his reorganized supplies back into his burglary kit. His niece was about to leave, when the old man spoke up again. "Hey, once it's fixed could you pick Dipper up from the woods? It's been a while and Soos needs help unclogging the toilet."

Mabel grimaced. "Ew! Too much information. Yeah, I'll get him. He's probably caught up with some nerd thing again."

Stan frowned and huffed, annoyed. "It better not be something like pixies or glowing mushrooms again. God forbid it's a pet, I swear if he brings home some kind of evil dirty animal, I'll..." The sentence died on his lips, threat diminishing into a sigh.

Mabel laughed. "Good one, Stan." But she shook her head. "Except Dipper's more like-. " She did her best squeaky boy voice and danced around foolishly "do you think I'll get to see a mermaid? I bet were-women are pretty nice! Boobs! Boobs! Boobs!"

Stan straight out laughed, pretending to wipe a tear from his eye once he was done with his fit. "Hey, that was pretty good. Y'know, Ford was like that back in the day, all he'd do was talk about was vampire girls and fictional characters, what nerds!"

To this Mabel gave a short "Hah! Really? I guess that explains his 'curiosity' with the supernatural."

"...What explains my curiosity with the supernatural?"

Both Mabel and Stan froze. They turned towards the eldest Pines. "Hey, bro. Mabel here was just wondering if you could fix up the old golf cart. It was broken during completely legal activities and needs fixing."

Ford squinted, but let his suspicion go. "I suppose I have time, but I bet I can get it done faster with extra help..." Ford paused. "Where's Dipper, anyways?"

"Forest." The two official trouble-makers of the family said in unison.

"Ah. Well then, Mabel would you mind helping me fix the cart in his place?" Ford asked, and Mabel instantly and very ecstatically nodded. "So, what's the sport doing this time?" He asked in a genuinely curious manner.

~

The sight before his eyes amazed him. Right there, in front of him was a very handsome and very nude man made of the most sparkly glitter he'd ever seen. Subconsciously, he noted it similar to pixie dust. He also noted that the man's 'bits and kibbles' were covered in said dust like a censor cloud. Out of his mouth came probably the most thought out words he's ever said in his life. "Y-You're really pretty."

Dipper flushed and resisted face palming himself as he realized exactly what he had just said. The humanoid creature gave him a look of confusion, all of the other emotions it emitted seemingly disappeared. "I-uh... I mean, you're really sparkly and they're really nice and I've never seen- like, pixie dust and- uh... sister gh-ghost..."

He took a deep breath and calmed himself. "Hey, do you need help?"

It smiled, and waved- shit. "I could use a hand."

Dipper stared worriedly and uncomfortably at the disabled arm. Ignoring the joke, he got a bit closer. The adventurer stiffened and stopped when a sense of panic was directed towards him in crashing waves. He winced and washed away his anxiety before continuing in indulging his curiosity. "Are you okay? Do you need assistance? Or- what happened?"

Its eyes went empty. Dipper worried his lip when he felt a twinge of anger in the other's voice. "It was... incapacitated by a tree. I wasn't paying attention. I guess I didn't hear it snap..."

The adventurer wanted to ask for a follow up on how he missed it and on how the creature, as a ghost, got injured, but he decided he'd do it later if there ever was another chance. "Can... I know your name?"

They know me as Bill Cipher. Pine Tree would never be able to comprehend my real name. "W-". Will is too obvious... "I don't really like my name. If you ask a different question, I might be able to answer it." I know lots of things.

Dipper frowned in confusion before going back into his gentle state. "... how about a nickname? To be honest, I don't really like my real name either."

"Liam." Bill said on impulse. Before the brunette could state his opinion, Bill shook his head. "How about you come up with a nickname, kid. It couldn't hurt to see what you come up with." He leaned against his statue. He wished the kid would go back to cleaning it, the mess bothered him. Physically. It almost hurt...

"Heh, yeah. I don't know, man. I'm not really the best at naming stuff." Dipper looked around for inspiration. Bill watched him stare at the grass before looking to the sky. Dipper was silent, but Bill could see the silent debate he was having with himself. After a few more seconds of silence, his decision was settled. "...Conatus."

Bill scoffed. "Will to live?" Oh, no. Bill was all out of that. "That's a shit name-"the Pine Tree was on the tip of his tongue, but he hesitated before stating the kid's preferred name. "...Dipper."

The brunette looked absolutely taken aback by Bill's sudden outburst, to him the creature had seemed shy until that point. He looked around unsurely. "How about... just Will?"

Bill replied with a huge scoff. "Are you actually serious with that name? I mean, I'll take it, but the blame's on you, kid."

Dipper watched the creature he dubbed as 'Will' smirk at his confusion. "Blame? What Bl-"

"MYSTERY CART INCOMING!" "Mabel! Can you try to be a bit more care-"CRASH!

Dipper jumped away from the noise on reflex, avoiding any debris that might have flung out of the vehicle on impact. Will squeaked and hopped out of Dipper's way, angrily glaring at the cart riders once he recovered. With one last glace at Dipper, Will disappeared leaving a few blue shimmers of residue in the air and grass. The brunette fumbled to the area where Will once was and began looking for more traces of him. He couldn't be gone! They had only just met!

"HEY, DIP."

Dipper jumped, startled by the loud voice. "Hey, Mabel." He replied curtly, still looking around for any clues as to where the new creature went.

"So... whatcha looking for?" Mabel asked, crouching beside her brother. "Did ya find pixies?" The girl asked, wiping some blue dust off the younger twin's shoulder. She pouted when the dust became dull, losing it's color and sparkle.

Dipper shook his head and hung it sadly. Another presence crouched on his other side. "...Did I hear pixies?" Ford asked, also starting to inspect the dust.

Mabel pursed her lips and waved a hand in front of Dipper's face, to which he looked up. She poked him on the cheek, a determined energy taking over her. "Dip, what's wrong?"

Dipper's lips curled into a smile of amusement. She always seemed to have his back. He shrugged off his disappointment at the creature's depart and replied to his worried sister. "Ah, I'll tell you about it when we get back to the shack."

Mabel gave him an ecstatic grin before getting up and offering him a hand. He took it and was helped off his feet. Mabel began to lead the way to the damaged cart, but the twins' walk was interrupted. "Oi! Kids, mind helping this old man get back on his-" The kids (they'll always be kids in the Grunkles' eyes) offered their hands wordlessly and helped Ford back up.

Dipper watched the scenery zip past as they drove home. He wondered to himself if Will's glittery dust would ever wash out.

Bill, or Will as he should start calling himself from now on, had just peeked over his corporeal form to see Pine Tree slipping away further and further in the mystery cart. He sighed, drained. Despite his lack of magical ability in that moment, he tried to cloak himself again.

Alarmingly, the cloak was very weak and he wouldn't be able to hold it as long as he usually could. He felt himself tense and knew that if Pine Tree didn't come back he would be screwed. Maybe he could convince the kid to help him somehow...?

That could possibly work...
