Chapter 4- Endless Shock
"T..take me where?" I asked nervously.
"To your new mansion Mr Lyn." She answered me calmly.
"Follow us Mr Lyn." One of the men said while walking out of the door.
I followed those two men as they walked me through the luxurious hallway once again. My imagination went to many places, and I just couldn't control it. They trudged me through one of the metallic doors that were on the way, and it opened to a magnificent view of the city. The sun was setting, it was hiding behind the ravishing opulent modern buildings. The buildings were all the same height with the same design but constructed differently. It was dark, the city lights blinded me. This was the first time I saw Trinel, it was prettier than what I imagined it to be. The people walking down the streets were all elegant and well dressed, they looked sharp and clean.
My eyes followed the footsteps of the people as they walked pass me. I just discerned something inside, there was spark inside my soul that made me enthusiastic to start my brand-new life. I don't know what it was, but seeing the city and the people living in it just made me happy. My thoughts about the city, and the new life distracted me. The two men were standing right in front of me staring at me weirdly. Oh shit, this is very awkward, but funny. I held my laughter though.
"Shall we continue walking Mr Lyn?" One of them asked.
"Yes, yes sure." I answered.
They walked me for about five minutes, then they stopped in front of a black GMC. This car was known in Branklin, whenever we used to see it down the streets, we would automatically know that there was a rich person passing by. They opened the door for me, and asked me to get inside. I won't lie, I honestly felt like the doors to happiness are finally opening up to me. I've always lived a poor life in Branklin, and always had the dream of moving to Trinel and start working here. Although this is a rich and gorgeous city, but Branklin has taken a huge space in my heart, and mind.
I took a deep inhalation of fresh air, and stepped into the car. I moved next to the window, and goggled at the breath-taking view. The journey ended in what felt like seconds. The car was waiting for the gates to open, and it did. The gates to heaven opened. The car stopped right in front of the mansion's door. The mansion was huge and alluring. They opened the door of the car and waited for me to descend.
I was just a small creature standing in front of a giant palace. Wow, this is all mine? It's tall white transparent glass windows were smiling at me, the lights of the house made me overawe. The light brown brick that designed the rooftop amazed me. The bright gold bricks on the walls added a majestic look into the mansion. There were also two medium sized square lamps attached to the bricks to reflect its sophisticated colour. The gigantic white wooden door was introduced by a small circumference made of ceramic, and a piece glass was added to the door to make it look super classy, and transparent. There were two statues of lions on the left and right of the entrance.
My ears caught the musical sound of the water splashing. I look behind me, and I see a fountain right in front of the mansion. This mansion can't be mine, is this a dream that I'm living or what? I think it is a dream, alright Lyn this is the part where you wake the fuck up. Dreams always end before the good part begins, so wake up Lyn. I literally stood as still as a statue in front of this gigantic mansion waiting me to wake up from this dream, but I didn't. OH, MY GOD! It's not a dream. Well, you can't really judge this quick, the best part is when you enter the mansion, so let's see.
I guess it's not a dream after all. The mansion itself was a city. It was in the middle of what seemed like a forest. The greenery hugged the other half of the mansion, looking at it is just so invigorating. I needed to take a small walk with myself around this mansion.
"You guys can leave it's fine." I said to the men that were waiting me.
Wow, I feel like a celebrity walking around with those enormous creatures. God, are they even human? His biceps are the size of my entire skinny body. Damn!
"Are you sure you don't want us to stay here Mr Lyn?" One of them asked.
"Yes, I am. Thank you so much, just give me the keys." I answered as I stretched my hand to take the keys.
"What keys sir?" The other men answered.
"The keys to the mansion." I answered.
"There are no keys to the mansions of Trinel Mr Lyn." He answered as he smiled.
"Then how am I supposed to get into it? Walk invisibly through the door?" I asked surprisingly.
"The door has a fingerprint on the knob for security reasons, so whenever you come to the mansion alone you can place one of your fingers on the knob, and it will recognize you instantly." He answered.
"But how did you get my fingerprint?" I asked another question yet again.
"All new mansions will be open without a fingerprint, so when you place your fingerprint, it will be saved and will instantly get you in when you place any of your fingers on the knob." He answered.
Lavish! They reached to this level of technology in here while we're struggling to make an oven function in Branklin. Wow, what can I say; I'm amazed. I love how I just dove into my thoughts that I even forgot they're still waiting me. Gosh, I hate this trait in me. Alright, don't be awkward just thank them and tell them to go. Why are they staring at me weirdly? Well, of course they will, since you literally took an hour to reply to what he just said you idiot. Wait, what did he say? Oh god, this is so awkward. Here we go.
"Oh, thank you. You guys can go now." I said.
"Alright, if you need anything you can always call one of us, and we will be more than happy to help you." He said as he gave me their business cards.
"Thank you," I said as I took them.
"My pleasure," He said as he walked away.
They went back to the car and left me all alone with this mansion. Okay, so from where do we start? I feel like a little kid that has all these candies right in front of him and is lost as of to which one he should try first. I looked around me, and a pathway caught my attention. There was an extensive path in the middle of the trees on both sides. WHAT? Nature too? Wow, I'm obsessed with this place. The pathway was well lit, although it was the middle of the night, yet the lights made seeing a lot easier.
It was a calm night with only the sound of my footsteps and me. I needed to take a walk with my thoughts, and clear my mind. This transition is rigid, from a poor 26-year-old that lived a poor life in Branklin, to a rich man that has his own mansion and a high paid salary that lives in Trinel. How am I supposed to take this? Now that I signed the contract, I have many limitations to live with. But what else would I need in life if I have an enormous mansion and a solid job? I'm really trying to not think about my family that often and distract myself, but it's just not working. I'm a mama's boy, my family is one of the veins in me, they can't just cut them off from me and expect me to be okay.
My thoughts and I were suddenly distracted by a loud voice. I heard an ear-splitting sound, I don't know why, but that voice reminded me of the fire. I followed the echo of the voice slowly until I heard another one. That's weird! What the fuck is happening?
The disturbing sound came from the woods. Should I go inside and see what's wrong? It didn't take long for me to decide to go into the woods. As usual, I love risks, but hate troubles, I don't know how the two align together, but it's just me. The weird, messy me. I ran as the wind into the woods. Darkness covered the woods as my eyes followed the moonlight. I ran deep into the woods, it was calm now that I'm inside. Where did the voice go? I kept walking until I realized that there wasn't any main source for the voice that I heard.
Maybe it was just my imagination. Am I hallucinating? What is happening to me? Shit! Am I in a horror movie? Is this the continuation of the dream? I knew it, dreams never end in a good way. Alright, stand still this is where you get eaten by a monster then wake up to Anna jumping on your bed. I waited for what felt like five minutes and nothing happened.
This was a bad idea, maybe it was just my imagination after all. Alright Lyn, how about you go and relax after this weird, weird day. My entire body is numbed, god I'm so out of shape. I've been telling myself for the past three years that I'll work out every single day by the hills, yet here I am. I turn around as I thought about what just happened, and I feel a gun touching my forehead.
