Everything went how it usually does that day.
I lived in a monastery with my brother Rein, however, he was always so much better than me.
He always had to protect me from bullies as well which means he got into a lot of fights, but I'd always get him out of trouble.
We never got to see our mother, well, technically we had to two mothers, Kincelle and Dragonia, we never got to see Kincelle, so Dragonia took care of us.
She was such a nice mother, but she never told us about our mother Kincelle, we got close one time when it was snowing, but she'd never budge.
She always tells us though that as little kids, whenever the other little kids bullied me, Rein would always stand up for me, but it would result in the daycare becoming a total mess, but one day, he actually sent a kid to the hospital.
I was the cook of the family though since no one else in my family could really cook.
Today was the day though that I got my very first job.
The owner had me do what seemed like near-impossible tasks, but I was able to complete most of the work easily, but I'm such a klutz that I'd somehow find a way to screw it up.
When I was asked to help over at the free samples, the food that they were offering as free samples tasted terrible.
Even one of the workers didn't like how it tasted.
However, with my cooking skills, I managed to make the food taste even better, people loved it and we're offering money to even try some as well.
Seeing all these happy people, it puts a smile on my face.
The boss even decided to hire me as well, I thought maybe for once, this could be the one thing I don't screw up.
With a smile on my face, I continue to do my job, but when I'm outside, I see a little girl chasing her scarf.
I quickly run to catch her and with a smile on my face, I attempt to hand it back to her, but, something happened that I wasn't expecting to happen.
A strange monster seemed to be holding it as it ran off with the scarf.
The girl and I quickly ran after it, attempting to get her scarf back, but it seemed me doing a good deed would've been what caused it all to shatter.
Once the monster is cornered, it quickly uses the stocked cans, I don't know what came over me though, I just quickly dived to protect the girl, and when I opened my eyes, I saw blood on me.
As I looked down at the girl, she was all bloody, and worst of all, she was unconscious.
I heard ambulances surround the building before I lost consciousness, but when I woke up, I found myself back at home.
"God, Luna, you had us worried, how did you manage to even get hurt that badly?!"
"I-I can't explain it, you wouldn't believe me"
It just all happened so suddenly, I knew what I had to do, I just couldn't do it though, I screwed it up as usual.
I just wanted to cry, but, as one of the priests at the monastery came in, it seemed that the little girl from earlier came to see me.
Rein helped me get up and out of bed to see her and for once in my life, it felt nice to be able to help someone, to have someone be thankful for me.
"Thank you for what you did, our little girl is always so scatterbrained, I sure hope though that your alright as well"
"M-Me, I'm fine, b-but your little girl, s-she's not scatterbrained, s-she's being t-tormented, I-I saw something t-take her scarf from her"
"I-Is that so, w-well I'm gonna r-report that m-mischief-maker t-to the PTA!"
The little girl seemed to object to what her father was doing and even said it was the fairies she saw that constantly torment her.
Her father only continued to ignore her and it made me wanna step in to do something, but I couldn't, thankfully Dragonia did.
"Maybe I could remedy the situation~"
She handed a four-leaf clover to the little girl and gave her a head pat as well.
"Take this four-leaf clover, now, whenever you see those little monsters, hold the four-leaf clover close to you, and they won't be able to hurt you~"
The little girl looked up at her and smiled, even hugging her and thanking her.
Her father seemed a bit confused at first, but it at least felt nice to be able to help her.
As the two of them walked away, I ended up realizing Rein was helping me stand the moment I heard his voice.
"Bullshit, that little girl was being tormented and that father wouldn't even listen to her, he refused to believe her!"
Our mother, Dragonia, does her best to try and calm Rein down, however, what causes him to calm down is when he rage is released, causing me to fall down to the ground, hurting myself even more.
I get that Rein wants to protect me from mean people and he wants to also help others as well, but sometimes, he's just unable to contain his rage.
I get that he cares about me, but sometimes, with how aggressive he can be, it makes me worry, but at the same time, if I could learn how to stand for myself, then maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't have to worry about me so much.
I always wanted to be as strong as him, it's why I always looked up to him and admired him, but, sometimes, I end up thinking to myself, will I ever be able to be just as strong as Rein and stand up for myself?
