Chapter 9.
「 Yaoyorozu's POV 」
I opened my eyes and stared up at the ceiling, had I fallen asleep? I barely remember anything from yesterday, except of course for Mina's words that were still echoing through my head. I sniffled and sat up, rubbing my eyes free from sleep, I felt heavy, like it was impossible to move away from the bed.
I forced myself to get out of bed and get some clothes on, maybe if I went to a hotspring it would calm my nerves, becase at this rate I was not going to get anything done, but that would have to wait until after classes were over, unfortunately. I was not going to skip any classes, if I just got through this then everything would be good, I wouldn't need to sit next to Todoroki in classes when we were on break and I would get some time to collect my thoughts and hopefully push away the feelings I harboured for him and lock them away, for good.
Even though the thought hurt me, I needed to do it either way, it was innappropriate for me to have romantic feelings for a classmate, especially in a situation like this, U.A was a prestigious school to teach teenagers to become Pro Heroes and continue on the lines of heroics.
I breathed out and got ready to head out, getting into my uniform and putting up my hair in my signature ponytail, I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, walking downstairs. I saw Jirou sitting there, waiting for me.
"Yaomomo!" she greeted me, cheerfully. At least she was in a good mood, unlike what you could say about me.
"Good morning, Kyoka," I replied, smiling gently at her.
Jirou seemed to be amused by something, I wasn't quite sure what, but I felt super tired, my mind was wandering to Todoroki for some reason.
"What's so funny?" I asked when Jirou suddenly started to giggle.
"This!" Jirou kneeled down and picked up a paper heart from the floor.
"Huh..?" I looked down and saw the floor beneath me speckled in paper love hearts, it took a while for me to realize that they were popping out of my arms.
I felt my face heat up and I quickly made the creation of the items stop, it seemed to have cut out abruptly because some hearts fell down to the ground in half, had I really started to create paper hearts just by thinking of Todoroki..?
"You are really hopeless, Yaomomo. It's obvious, you are in love with Todoroki, aren't you?" Jirou put her hands on her hips and shook her head, disappointed.
"h-huh? No..!" I shook my head, flailing with my arms. My face was now painted in a fierce blush, and pop. There came more paper love hearts out of what was exposed of my arms.
Jirou quickly put her hand over her mouth as she started to laugh, hysterically, was it really that obvious? Could she read me like an open book? I felt my heart beat faster.. This wasn't good.
I quickly pulled myself together and slapped my cheeks, "let's just- let's just go," I quickly dismissed the topic and rushed out of the 1-A dormitory and towards the main building.
I managed to get into the 1-A classroom and sat down by my seat, still flustered. I hung my bag by the side of my desk and breathed out, hanging my head in my hands and closing my eyes. I needed to pull myself out of these problematic feelings, he loved someone else, not me. But who could it be..? Who did he love?
I found this sudden curiosity grow inside of me, who could it be..? Maybe Uraraka? She was the one he was closest with, right? They were in the same group of friends, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had mutual feelings for eachother. Mina had said 'her' when I had walked inside, so it eliminated all of the boys, because of course he could be in love with one of the boys, but based on of what I knew, it couldn't be that..
I continued to drown myself in thought, I didn't even notice that class begun. I kept my head in my hands, no words really came through my ears. Everything was silent, I felt scared, hurt, irritated.. All these emotions were stabbing at my heart, violently..
I let out a breath, how long had I been thinking about this? I looked up and realized that the classroom was empty, it was only me there with a bunch of paperwork in front of me. Most of the papers were already filled in, but some weren't finished..
I decided that it was best for me to finish this paperwork before I went out to the rest of the class, they were probably somewhere and having fun, probably eating in the cafeteria or walking around in the hallways, it was probably best for me to stay out of their business.. I would only ruin everything either way..
