-I've noticed his strange behavior.. but I can't figure out what it's from..- You sigh without knowing, too focused on your own thoughts to notice anything else. Like Leo, staring at you from the kitchen doorway with his shining blue eyes.

You were sitting next to Donnie's second makeshift lab, with your chin in your hands as your mind flooded with thoughts and questions. Donnie was busy working, but he was happy you decided to hang out with him.
Leo took this moment as an opportunity to admire you, as if he hadn't done so when you were in your coma.

You glance at Donnie, who is focused on the parts scattered over the surface. You smile and stand up, leaving him to work in peace. Leo leaves before you see him, and but you catch a glimpse of the tails of his blue mask fluttering behind him.

Later, Leo calls a meeting. The subject is Karai.
You have heard of her, of the history with her and Leonardo, and honestly, you didn't know what to think. Hearing about her, your mind tells you she's ok. But your heart, for some reason, hurts when you hear about Leo's connection with the Kunoichi.

Leo split everyone up into teams: Donnie and April, Raph and Casey, and Leo with Mikey and you. You smile and grabbed your things, including your secret weapon.

You had gotten better at running on rooftops, but still, you were slightly surprised when you kept up with Leo and Mikey.

"You're getting faster, Y/n." Leo praises, and you grin, jumping to the next roof and landing with a roll.

"Thanks." You reply, seeing the amusement park up ahead.

Once you're in the deserted island attraction, Leo takes out his canister of Retro Mutagen. You follow him and Mikey, searching for Karai.

"Do you.. do you think she's her?" You ask Leo hesitantly, seeing the pain in his eyes as you speak.

"I don't know. I hope so."

Walking up to the Comet Coaster, Mikey shouts and points when he spots Karai in her snake form. She slithers away, and you all run after her, to the fun house.

"I hate these." You mutter, keeping close to Leo and Mikey. A cardboard monster jumps out, and you let out a little squeak, grabbing Leo's arm. Leo chuckles and walks forward, when a goblin head jumps out. Leo shouts and slices the head, which falls to the floor.

"Ahem.. let's go." Leo orders, ignoring your smirk, and Mikey's nervous giggles.

You chase Karai around the fun house, continuously tricked by the mirrors. When you finally get out, Karai runs. As she goes past a stand, you throw a shuriken, and she hisses at you.

"Karai, it's us.. and Y/n, whom you haven't met. We can help you. Please.." Leo coaxes, stepping closer. Karai leaps forward, heading for you. She knocks you down, and you struggle with her.

"Karai! Listen to me! It's Leo. Remember me? Leonardo."

Karai turns to Leo, and she relaxes.

"Leeeeeeooooo.." she whispers in a hoarse voice. You sit up, rubbing your shoulder.

"You ok Y/n?" Mikey inquires, placing a hand on your other shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm fine." You murmur, watching as Leo speaks with Karai.

When a white van pulls up, Karai gets spooked, and runs off. You hide behind booths, and hear someone speak.

"Hey yo, I, I'm at the Park, where are you?"

"Look behind you comrade!" You hear a man with a thick Russian accent call his friend, along with two heavy thumps.

"Where are other turtle freaks?"

"Hang on, I'll sniff 'em out."

You hear a series of snorts, before the younger one shouts in a shrill voice: "OOH TURTLES! COME OUT AND PLAAAY!"

Leo, who is right next to you, moves his head in a "get out of here" way. You shake your head firmly and draw out your weapon, a katana. It's handle is f/c, and the blade glints in the moonlight. Leo stares at you with wide eyes. You stare back.

"What?"

"I-I... nice k-katana." He stumbles over his words, and blushes afterwards. You chuckle as you roll your eyes, disappearing in the shadows. You finally see the newcomers. Two mutants. One white Rhino, and a hog. Interesting.

You slip away, coming closer to the van. As you reach out to open the back doors, a strong, rough hand grips your neck. You gasp, pulling at the hand as your oxygen is cut off for a moment.

"Hah! Come out now, turtle scum, or I will pop your human friend's head like grape."

The hog mutant stand next to his accomplice.
"I thought you said blueberries before."

"I change it. Look." The rhino points to Mikey, who is clearly freaking out.

"I'm coming! Please, don't hurt her!" He begs, and the rhinos grip loosens. You breathe in, still holding on to the hand around your neck, with the rest of your body limp.

-Great job, Y/n. Didn't even make it to the van.- You frown, not noticing Leo behind you, unlocking the back doors of the van, and glancing at you every second or so. His eyes are wide with worry as he works.

Mikey starts blurting out random names for the new mutants, until they settle on BeBop and Rocksteady.

BeBop looks behind, and spots Leo trying to pick the lock. Rocksteady drops you as he charges Leo, but he jumps out of the way just in time.

"C'mon!" Leo shouts, grabbing your hand and leading you away.
"Are you ok?" He questions as you run.

"Yeah.. I'm fine." You answer.

"Don't ever do that again. Promise me you won't do that again." Leo orders as he stops, glaring at you. You nod.

"I promise not to run headfirst into danger without your consent." You add the last part sarcastically, but Leo's cold glare causes you to drop your grin.

"I'm serious. You could've been hurt." Leo turns to you, both hands on your shoulders as he stares at you. "That's no laughing matter."

"Ok. Ok, I understand." You assure him, just so he'll stop staring at you like that.

"Ok. Stay here.. please." He orders. In a split second, his stare changes to something else. Something softer, and kinder. Then he runs off, leaving you there.

You hear Rocksteady's roars and BeBop's whoops and hollers.
-I can't just stand here.- You tell yourself, drawing your katana once more.

You run into the fun house where April, Casey and Donnie are. BeBop has beaten all of them, when you come from behind and slice his tech.

"Aw man! That took forever for Fly Guy to repair!" He whines. You cut him off by hitting him with the handle of your katana. Donnie stands, helping you get BeBop outside.

"Long time no see, Donnie." You grin, and he chuckles.

You watch Leo, Raph and Mikey fight Rocksteady on the rollercoaster. They jump around, taunting the rhino with Raph's canister of Retro Mutagen. When Rocksteady grabs Mikey, you gasp.

"Give me the Retro Mutagen, or your brother goes splat." He threatens. Leo stands on the other end of the track, Retro Mutagen in hand.

"Put down my brother first! I don't trust you." Leo orders.

"Do I haves your word you will give me Retro Mutagen?" Rocksteady interrogates.

Leo nods.
"You haves my word."

Rocksteady throws Mikey to Leo, and in return, Leo throws the canister high in the air, towards the rhino. Just before Rocksteady has it, Raph swoops in and takes it.

"You gave me your word!" Rocksteady roars.

"But you didn't have mine!" Raph grins. You cheer, and Leo glances at you.

"Can't ever listen, huh?" He mutters, returning his attention to the fight.

BeBop regains consciousness, and you're back to fighting him, whoops, hollers and all.

"You're pretty good with a sword, little lady." BeBop remarks, spinning and twirling as lasers fly every in direction.

"It's a katana!" You correct him, deflecting his lasers and nicking his tech again. His lasers malfunction, and he groans.

"Great. That's gonna take forever to repair OH SHO-" he screams as Rocksteady comes flying to him, the force knocking him back. Before he has time to gather himself, Rocksteady lands on top of him, and they both groan in pain.

As you catch your breath, Karai returns, keeping a safe distance from you all.

"Karai! Listen, we can help you, with this," Leo holds up the Retro Mutagen, staring at her with pleading eyes. Karai bows her head, allowing him to spray her with the orange and pink substance. When Leo finishes, she opens her eyes, but nothing has changed.

"It- it didn't work? Donnie!"

Donnie steps forward, placing a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"I told you, Karai's special. There was a chance it wouldn't work."

Karai slithers back, and Leo steps forward.

"Well, it doesn't matter. You can come home with us. We'll protect you."

Karai shakes her head.

"Noo.. too daaanngeeeroussss. My miinnd... is.. goooiinng." She whispers, covering her face with her snake hands.

"But then, why did you tell me about this place?"

"Wannnnttted.. to sssaaayy goooodbyyyeee.. to allll offf yooouuu."

And with that, Karai jumps over the rail and into the water below.

"NO! Karai!" Leo calls, reaching out to the water. Waves of the cold and murky water beat against the wood, unintentionally caused by Leo. You walk over and place your hand on his shell.

"I tried to save her. What am I gonna tell Splinter?" He sighs.

"That you tried. That you fought to get her back. And that she chose to leave, to keep us safe." You whisper. Leo nods to your words.

"C'mon team.. let's go." Mikey speaks sadly.

At Antonio's Pizza-Rama, you walk in the kitchen to find Leo leaning against the counter, manipulating the running water from the sink.

"You did good, Leo." You smile. Leo jumps when he hears you, and the water in his hands spill to the floor.

"Oh! Y/n.. I-I um.. thank you." He replies, making the water rise to the sink.

You smile and turn to leave, when Leo steps forward and hugs you.

"Really, thank you. I'm glad you're with us. I'm glad you're helping."

You smile, hugging back.

"Any time, Leo."
