Taehyung's POV

"Have you been sitting on the roof this whole time? While we were sleeping, I mean." We were laying down now, still staring at the stars above us. "No," I responded, taking a deep breath and closing my eyes. "I, uh, I went somewhere."

"Home?" The word was like a dagger, slicing my skin deep enough to reach my heart and strike it. It pained me because that house was my home for years, then it just wasn't anymore. "Yeah," I let out breathlessly, opening my eyes to look at the stars again. "It's not my home anymore."

"Was it ever?" I wanted to curse, scream and defend myself that it was. But how could I? How could I say it was when it just wasn't? I shook my head, letting my gaze remain on the sky above. "I can't remember," I said truthfully, unable to fully express my feelings for that house. "Maybe it was when I was younger, but I knew that for the majority of my teen years, it wasn't."

"It was just the house I went to every day, but it was never truly a home." He nodded, turning on his side and throwing an arm over my chest, hugging me. "What happened?" The question lingers with a little hesitancy like he's scared to know the answer- or scared to ask the question.

"Nothing," I laughed humorlessly, glaring at the dark sky above. "They seemed perfectly normal. I saw all of them except my two oldest sisters. My father was smiling, my mother was laughing, and my siblings were happy." The words rolled off my tongue with venom, sadness hitting my already broken heart.

"My room was open, the window I mean." Jungkook looked at me, an eyebrow quirked up. "Did you go in?" I nodded, closing my eyes again. "Yeah. Nothing about my room changed. They put pictures on my bed, one of me and the rest of my family and I."

"Is that all?" He asked cautiously, running his fingers through my hair. I sighed, letting my body relax. "No. They think I'm dead." His fingers froze, retracting from my strands. I opened my eyes to see his wide and filled with shock, his body pushed upwards into a sitting position.

"What..?" I shrugged, because did it even matter anymore? "Yeah. They think I'm dead. They don't even have hope that I made it out alive, so now I'm just dead." I laughed, full of bitterness and anger. Pathetic. What a family, hm? "Oh, Taehyung... I'm so sorry," He whispered softly.

"Don't be."

"But I am..."

He straddled me, gazing down into my eyes as tears pooled in his. "You don't deserve that. You deserve a family, one that loves you for who you are and treats you with respect. You deserve a family that appreciates you, who acknowledges you." I placed my hands on his waist, thumbs rubbing against his skin.

"I'm fine, cupcake." He shook his head, clearly unconvinced by my words. "I see it in your eyes, you're hurting because of it." His words strike harder than I expected and suddenly I feel at a loss of breath, inhaling sharply and not exhaling.

"You deserve more than this," His voice was barely above a whisper, but still audible. He leaned forward, our chests pressing as his forehead touched mine. "I'm sorry," He whispered again, lips ghosting over mine. I didn't respond, I just closed my eyes, pressing my lips to his.

When we pulled away, he was staring at me, glossy eyes enough for me to know that he really felt bad. "Shh, don't cry. My life- whatever it used to be- isn't your fault and never will be, so don't be sorry for something you can't change, or for something you were never a part of."

"I love you, Jungkook, and since I've been with you, my life is amazing. That's all the matters, okay?" He nodded, scooting himself back a bit so that his head could rest on my chest. "I love you too," He mumbled, gripping onto the fabric of my shirt and laying still.

I wrapped my arms around him, staring up at the night sky. It was silent, only the sounds of our breathing heard on this calm night. That was until Jungkook broke the silence. "Did you go anywhere else?" I hummed, putting an arm behind my head and laying still.

"Just flew around town, guess what I saw upset me more than I expected it to. Other than that, no." He rolled off of me, laying beside me and staring up at the stars. There weren't many out tonight, just a few here and there, but they were still pretty to admire. "What made you go see your house anyway?"

"Curiosity." The answer was instant- and true. That's really what compelled me to fly over there, to see what lingered in that house that no longer remained my home. "Well, I guess you found out then, hm?" I laughed, taking a quick glance at him and smiling. "I did."

"Are you and Drift mad at one another?" I shrugged, sighing softly and staring at the sky again. "I guess so. His words just seemed to piss me off, because it seems like no one has true faith in me besides Soros," I said, glancing at Jungkook who sent a glare my way. "From the gods, I mean."

"Maybe they're just speaking from past experiences? Sometimes they seem to taint your visions and it's hard to move past them, you know." I nodded, shrugging again. "Maybe, maybe not, but to just assume such things without truly looking at who I am kinda pisses me off. They assume that just because I contain darkness magic, I'll definitely lose control."

"Yeah, that's not how it works." I nodded in agreement, glancing at my boyfriend. "But whatever, I guess. The damage has been done, and as you said, you can't change the world when the world doesn't want to be changed." He smiled, lips pressing to my cheek. "I'm glad you understand."

We laid in silence for a while, either staring at one another or at the sky above us. It was peaceful and surprisingly wasn't as uncomfortable as I expected it to be. I took a deep breath, shutting my eyes, and then reopening them to look at Jungkook.

He met my gaze, a smile twitching onto his lips. "You're beautiful," I whispered, staring into those brown eyes of his. "Did you know that?" It was dark out, but I could make out the red tint that colored his cheeks. "I'm not," He whispered, hands twitching as they gripped onto my shirt.

"But you are. You're absolutely stunning. Breathtaking." He giggled, shaking his head and scooting himself even closer to me if that was possible. "You're quite the charmer, aren't you?" I snickered, shrugging my shoulders carelessly. "Mm, no. Just for you."

"Do you mean it?"

"When I say you're beautiful?"

"Yeah, do you mean it?"

I smiled, pressing my lips to his for a quick kiss. "Absolutely," I said, lips ghosting over his as we pulled away from one another. "You're absolutely breathtaking, I can't believe you're mine." He punched my chest, lightly and with little to no force, shaking his head while his cheeks darkened in color.

"I'm serious. I may be the elemental that possesses ice magic, but when I'm with you," I paused, thinking of the right words to say. I wanted to express my mind with full honesty, yet make it something he'd never forget.

"When I'm with you, you set my heart on fire."

His eyes sparkled, just like the stars above, and I found myself getting lost in them. "The ice elemental having fire within him? That's something I've never heard of." I laughed, grabbing his waist and pulling him into me. "Well, maybe your magic has intertwined with mine." His eyes grew wide as he smiled, lips turned upwards.

"Wait," He said, looking shocked as if he understood something. "Maybe we can make that really happen." I furrowed my eyebrows, staring at him with confusion and sheer curiosity. What did he have in mind? "I remember our introductions. When Soros called you? Remember?"

"What about it, Cupcake?" He punched my chest again, smiling now. "He let his darkness magic hit you and it seeped into your veins, then boom! You could possess the power!" I nodded, realizing what he was getting at now. My eyes widened and I almost gasped. "You're not thinking of trying it, right?"

"Intertwine," He said, standing up quickly and jumping up and down. "We could intertwine our magics!" I stood up too, towering over him a bit, flashing a worried look. I don't know about this. "Think about it! All I have to do is shoot my fire magic at you, gently of course, and it'll seep into you!"

"I think it's more complicated than that, Cupcake," I added, shaking my head a bit. "Magic has to accept you and you have to accept it. What if your fire magic doesn't accept me? Hm? Then what happens?" He paused, letting an orange glow touch his fingertips.

"We can try it? I mean, slowly of course. I won't rush anything." I frowned, glancing down at my own hands. My magic knows when to protect me and when not to, so if it stops his magic, then clearly that's a sign not to do it, right? "Why do you want to do this so badly?"

He smiled, stepping closer to me and pressing our chests together. "Maybe I want you to have a part of me," He whispered, eyes meeting mine. "And maybe there's a part of me that wants a part of you." My eyes widened when I understood. Our magic. If we intertwine it, we've given each other a part of ourselves.

"Cupcake, this is risky," I said, cupping his cheek gently, gazing into his eyes. He nodded, pressing his hand to my chest and humming. "I know, but I just want to try it. If it doesn't work, then at least we know." I sighed, pressing my lips to his. "Okay, then try it."

The warmth hit my chest and I gasped, looking down at his hand. I could feel the warmth flowing through my veins and muscles, hitting my fingertips. They began to glow, my eyes widening in shock when I saw the orange tint shine through. His hand remained against my chest, his own palm orange now.

"Jungkook," I said breathlessly, feeling my body warm-up as if I had a fever. "Jungkook, it worked." He smiled, pressing his lips to mine. My heart felt like it was on fire, literally, beating quickly and filled with warmth. My skin was hot, hotter than usual, and my stomach felt like lava.

Yet it wasn't painful.

He pulled his hand away and the heat stayed, coursing through my veins and muscles, filling my mind, heart, and stomach. It felt weird, but in a way, it felt good. I looked at him, finding myself smiling. "Try it," He whispered, pointing to the sky. "Try releasing some fire." And I did try.

And it worked.

I laughed with disbelief, fire pouring out of my index finger. He smiled, clapping his hands excitedly. "It worked!" I nodded, letting the fire disappear and replacing it with my magic: ice. My hand-coated itself in ice, changing the flesh to frozen water.

Water poured out of my other hand and I now felt myself grow extremely excited. I could possess four powers? Water, Ice, Fire, and Darkness spiraled around me, intertwining with one another as I met Jungkook's eyes. This was surreal. He laughed, looking just as excited. "Yay, it worked!"

I pulled him towards me, embracing him in a hug and holding him tightly. "You have a part of me now," He said, hugging me back and wrapping his arms around my neck. "Stay there," I whispered, pulling myself away from his embrace. "What are you doing?"

I took five steps back, looking him in the eyes and letting ice and water swirl around my fingertips on both hands. I smiled, extending my hand that had ice on my fingertips and aiming it at him. "Only making things fair, Cupcake."

"I'm giving you a part of me."

Powerful babies. They're exchanging magic power, but will it work on Jungkook as it worked on Taehyung?

And if it does, what does that mean for Jungkook?

I purple you 💜
