Dinner for six
After being ushered in, the other two stood there, looking at the four men in front of them, so different yet still the same.
"Dinner's ready. Oh crap, babe, can you set a sixth place." Jin looked at Jimin. "I didn't..."
Jimin smiled at Jin softly, "It's ok, hyung. I probably wouldn't have if Hobi didn't drag me here."
"Oh.. are you? You know what, we'll get into that later; let's enjoy dinner, yeah?" Taking their places around the table, they loaded up their plates. Namjoon drying Kookies tears once he finally stopped crying.
The sounds of eating were the only thing heard for a few minutes before everyone was full enough to start asking the questions in their head.
"I know we all have things we want to know, but why don't you two tell us your stories instead. This way, most of the questions will be answered that way." Yoongi suggested.
"Hyung, you go first." Jimin was quiet, wanting to wait as long as possible before he had to tell his story. Hobi just gave Jimin a nod, knowing how the younger boy felt.
"Well, ok, geez. Starting from after graduation. I came back home, my head swimming from everything that had taken place those two years. I had a long talk with my noona, who thankfully helped me onto the right path. I got a job, nothing fancy, but she suggested volunteering at a homeless shelter. And guys, it felt amazing." He looked around the room, noting the small smile on Jin's face. "I felt horrible for these people, no home, most with no jobs, and I just knew I had to do something. Anything. So I got a small business loan and started Piece of Peace. At first, it was just the soup kitchen. But now, not only do I own that, but I operate a few other places. My favorite one is There's Always Hope. It's an organization that helps them find homes and jobs, helping them get back on their feet. It's amazing to see the transformation that comes over them when they can have a normal life again. It's so satisfying." Hobi looked so peaceful, the joy radiating from him, knowing he was living his life helping others.
"I don't even need to ask hyung, I can see how happy you are," Namjoon said, smiling at the other man.
"I really am Joonie. I still have my sad times, but they are so few and far between, nowhere near as bad as they were at Hogwarts."
"I'm proud of you, Hobi."
Hobi couldn't help but tear up. Hearing Yoongi say those 5 words was everything to him.
Jimin rested his hand on Hobi's, giving it a gentle squeeze before moving it back to his lap, looking down at his fingers. "My turn, huh."
"Only if you're ready." Jin's voice was soft. He was just as curious as everyone else, but he didn't want to scare their mochi off when they just got him back.
Jimin nods. "Well, we all know I didn't handle Tae leaving very well. I tried you two; I swear I did." He looked over at Namjoon and Jungkook, already tearing up. "I never wanted to hurt you two; I loved you both so much. But Tae was my platonic soulmate. It was like a part of me had been ripped out, and even the love I had for you guys couldn't fill it." He felt Hobi take his hand, offering the comfort he needed, something the other boys noticed but didn't say anything about. "Once I got home, things went from bad to worse. I was so depressed I was constantly in my room, not looking for a job, all that sort of stuff. My parents tried to understand they really did, but it got too much for them and kicked me out. I lived on the streets for god six or seven months. I was a regular at the soup kitchen, but it took that long to run into Hobi. He helped me find a job at the animal shelter, but there were no houses available at that time with his program, so he offered me a place at his house. Initially, it was only supposed to be until I could get a place on my own, but shit, his house is huge, so there was plenty of room, so Hobi eventually just asked me to stay." His eyes found Namjoons again. "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you before. I wasn't ready yet."
"I get it. So you two are together then?" Namjoon motioned to their hands that were still entwined.
"Yes and no. It's sorta.. open?" Hobi answered. "I would end it if he ever wanted to go back to you two. I would never hold him back from that." He noted the sad look in Jungkooks eyes, an ache taking root in his chest. "I'm serious, Kookie, all he has to do is say the word, and I would happily hand him back to you."
Jimin's tiny voice piped up, "I know that Namjoonie and Kookie are still together, but what about you two Yoongles?"
"Yoongles. God, that name still haunts me." He shoots Jimin a fond grin. "Well, it took me a while, but I convinced Jin to marry me and put up with me for the rest of his life." he kisses the back of Jin's hand. "We've actually been throwing the idea around about adoption, but we haven't decided anything yet."
"Oh my god, you guys never told us that!" The shock in Jungkooks voice was evident.
"We hadn't made a decision yet, so there was nothing to tell Kookie."
"So um, I have a question for you, Jimin."
"Ask away, Joonie."
"Have you ever heard from Tae? None of us have."
Jimin looks up at him sadly, "No, Joonie. I never heard from him, and I feel that loss every day."
