Turning towards the rest of the gang, Max exclaimed, "Guys, we have a serious problem. Ozone and Tiberius couldn't find the key in the cake." Gasps went around the room.

"I know it was in that one... unless..." Gidget mumbled, slowly looking out into the kitchen. Everyone followed the white Pomeranian's gaze. She was staring at the twin fruit cake that waited on the counter. The pets quietly crept over to it and surrounded it on all sides. "You think it's in there?" Mel asked, he and Buddy sharing a sideways glance. Sweetpea poked the cake's side.

"Only one way to find out..." Chloe mumbled, returning from the kitchen with forks and napkins...

Ten Minutes Later...

"Come on Rhonda, you can do it," Pops urged Chloe. Everyone else was too full to finish the gigantic fruit cake, leaving Chloe to continue onwards. The gray tabby cat stared at the last forkful with genuine regret in her green eyes. She shook her head slowly, not wanting to do it. She placed her paws over her stomach, moaning in pain.

"What did you guys put in that fruit cake?" Buddy groaned. "The recipe called for a lot of sugary stuff... a LOT..." Gidget mumbled, laying next to Max.

"That why Norman's bouncing off the walls?" Mel wondered as he and Sweetpea watched the guinea pig LITERALLY bouncing off the walls. Snowball was earlier but he then had a sugar crash. The rabbit now lay on top of Leonard, who was on top of Duke.

"Chloe, you have to finish it..." Gidget mumbled. Whimpering, Chloe crammed the last piece in her mouth. Patting her on the head gently, Pops examined the plate with Myron. "Well?" Max asked, weakly lifting his head.

Looking horrified, Pops mumbled, "The key ain't here."
