Next Day, Late Afternoon

Groaning from the terrible ache he felt all over his body, Ozone slowly blinked his green eyes open. He found himself in Pops' apartment laying in a bed with a soft pillow under his chest. A blanket had been resting on his shoulders. Ozone also saw that his injuries had been treated while he was out. Glancing to his right, the hairless cat saw that he wasn't the only one who had been taken care of.

Yawning, Tiberius was beginning to wake up. Lifting his head up, he let out a small cry of pain. "Easy man, don't strain yourself," Ozone cautioned, placing his broken right forepaw on the hawk's shoulder gingerly. Looking around, Tiberius mumbled, "What happened?"

"You both passed out yesterday night. Everyone carried you over here where Pops and I could look after you without being disturbed," a voice answered the question. Ozone and Tiberius looked up to see Felix sitting nearby. Getting to his paws, the black cat added, "You both lost a lot of blood."

"Feels like it," Tiberius murmured.

"Thank you for everything Felix. I truly am grateful for your help," Ozone meowed. Swishing his tail, Felix replied, "No problem. Just be careful in the future."

"Glad to see you two are awake," Max remarked as he came over with Snowball and Gidget at his side. The two dogs sat down while the rabbit stood. Ear twitching slightly, Snowball asked softly, "So... you two aren't mad at me anymore?"

"Nope," Ozone and Tiberius replied at the same time.

"Not gonna kill me?"

"Nope."

"Do anything to me?"

"Nope."

"Are you guys feeling alright?" Gidget asked.

"Yes."

"This is creepy," Max whispered in Gidget's ear, who nodded her head in silent agreement.

"Guys, just let these two rest. They had a long day yesterday!" Felix piped up. He began herding the three animals out before they could ask anymore questions. "Thanks again Felix!" Ozone called out. The black cat flicked an ear.

"Things are definitely gonna be different now," Tiberius remarked thoughtfully as he rested his chin on the edge of the bed. He yawned, exhausted from the grand adventure that took place the day before. Laying his head across the hawk's neck, Ozone mumbled, "True, very true." Eyes drooping, the pair fell asleep within seconds of each other, not even bothering to change their positions as they slept side by side...
