Chapter one

A yellow paw reached out for a bag. His claws carefully wrapping around the bag, in fear for breakage. Today is another day! He thought positively. Nothing can go wrong! Even if something does I will forget about it with ease, and eagerness!

The little shiny Charmander wagged his tail, slowly. He lifted the bag, and put it on his shoulders, sighing. Another day, another time to be at school.

He walked into his kitchen, his mother greeting him. His father was missing. As always. He was always missing. He left for the Starter Squad at like one in the morning, or he never leaves the place.

" Good morning, Vesuvius, dear. How did you sleep?" The female Charizard wondered to her son. He sighed. " Good." He said in a monotony voice. " That's Good." His mother said, not bothering to notice his tone.

He sighed as his mother put a plate of pancakes in front of him. His mother then handed him a fork and a knife.

This again? When will I have something different? He wonders, not pondering about the pancakes. Sure it was the same breakfast every morning, and he was tired of it, but: he wanted adventure. A real adventure.

He wanted to be swept up on his feet, and to have that adventure. I wish my father could see just how much I want to be like him, but he claims it's too dangerous for a kid like me. But: he recruits younger folk every day! There was like a 6 or so year old Rowlet!

He cut his food up with his knife, holding the fork to the piece he wanted. He stabbed the fluffy golden pancake, and put the fork into his mouth, chewing on the tasty treat.

His mother took out a newspaper. " This always happens!" She cried as she threw the newspaper on the ground. Vesuvius perked up, " What's up?"

The Charizard turned to her son. She flings the paper on the table. A caption was there. It read: 'Tudi once again slips past the Starter Squad's fingers. Are they even really that helpful?'

Vesuvius snorted. " That's a bunch of lies. They've helped the world more times than Eon." He remarked, ripping up the news. It's all full of lies. Why would anyone listen to this, anyways? All we need is Arceus to guide us.

" True. Eon hasn't done that many great things, but: he saved Arceus. How can the Starter Squad compared to that?" She wonders in worry.

Vesuvius sighed, " He only saved Arceus from Tudi and Skliros because of his visions. Without them he's nothing." Vesuvius degraded.

His mother only sighed. " I know, but it's stupid. Now there's even a rip off Squad of the Starter Squad! They're not really getting much done anyways. Just catching a few major criminals, and leaving my husband's squad in the dust." The Charizard raged, smoke coming out of her mouth.

It was true. There were now a few other squads, but that didn't mean that they would ever live up to the Starter Squad. If only father would let me join him. He claims school will enhance my skills, but I'm done exploring some stupid dungeon! I want to get down in Danger!

The screeing of wheels brought Vesuvius to his feet. The bus is here! " Can I get a goodbye kiss?" His mother queers. Vesuvius paused, mid-step. He walked, and leaned over to kiss his mother on the cheek.

That was their thing. Most kids wouldn't do that, but he wasn't most kids. He knows that you might have something one day, and then it would be real gone later.

" Bye!" He exclaimed, waving his yellow claws at his mother. His mother waved her curled claw back at him. He closed the door, " Love you.~" Then, he turned and with his chest puffed out, a happy go-luck smile on his face. He took a higher step than normal kids do.

Vesuvius was a special case. His father was serious, his mother more like a news insulter. Not him! He would compare himself to the likeness of Eon, but more powerful.

He placed his clawed feet on the steps of the school bus, racing up them; he didn't want to exhaust himself. Stairs exhaust him sometimes.

He waltzed past most of the kids, judging him obviously, and did a spin. His rear end met a seat; a shiny Cyndaquil there, shyly smiling at Vesuvius.

This Pokémon: he was Vesuvius's best friend. He might be a shy little mouse, but he has proven his worth in the mystery dungeons tons of times; power and agility on his side.

" Hello, Toka." Vesuvius greets, maneuvering his bag. The whitish Cyndaquil never really spoke much to anyone, but Vesuvius. Vesuvius was different. He was easy to talk to.

Most other kids only wanted to talk about the opposite gender: how they would a girl, or how they would kidnap their bae. Whatever the heck those words meant.

" So How was your day so far?" Vesuvius asked him. He always asked him about his day. It was just one of those things that made Vesuvius Vesuvius.

Toka just shrugged. Sure he would talk to Vesuvius, but he always preferred to not speak if he didn't have to. Vesuvius swayed his feet back and forth. " So it was that bad, huh?" Vesuvius asked, reading him like a book.

Toka nodded. His lip quivered, " Someone beat me up." His voice wavered, sounding like a whine. Vesuvius nodded. Poor Toka, always getting bullied by someone who isn't a shiny. I told Moja that there was no need to be jealous of Toka. He has it bad at home as it is.

Vesuvius pat his friend on the back. " Today's another day." He informed him, pulling him closer. Toka leaned into Vesuvius.

It's obvious he likes it when we hug. That's a good thing. I hope he joins the squad along me. I wonder if we can make a fire team together. That would be nice.

The school bus rolled to a stop. The doors opened and kids ran outside. Some were complaining, " Man I hate school," one groaned; others made sure to look 'extra' on the way down the bus stairs.

Some of the more 'slutty' females all stuck up their Tails in attempts to entice men, which only lead to other females kicking their butts. They get what they deserve. I don't want any leaving and becoming high class criminals like Tudi.

One female in particular walked up to Vesuvius. A shiny Torchic. She wasn't emotionally unstable like the rest of the females. She was called, ' Cearc.'

Unlike all the others, she was something Vesuvius would describe as: creative, passionate, and selfless. She was always doing things for others, putting herself last.

Cearc raced to them. " Hello, Guys! Do you know what day it is?"She asks them in excitement. " Another day, another mystery dungeon." Vesuvius stated.

She nodded. " And guess where?!" She squealed, falling over in her excitement. " I dunno, where? Echoes Rainfall Cave?" Vesuvius questioned.

Cearc shook her head with a giggle: " We are going to Starter Squad Cave! That's where your father works at! Isn't this exciting?" She queers then, twitching.
