It had been snowing for a while now unfortunately. Not like it bothered Reina one bit – especially when she had been situated next to the fireplace for quite some time now. She had been stuck in her own head for about an hour despite the fact that her eyes had been fleeting from the book in her hand to the fiery red orangey flames that were dancing by her side. The heat not making any apparent effect on her little dragon heart. Reina was quite used to the warmth and actually craved it more than usual.
Especially at this moment in time when all around her – all she felt was cold. She just felt so alone at this instant. It happened from time to time. The apparent feeling of being so alone and sometimes she was at peace with it but not like this. This time it was different. It was a different feeling – a feeling she did not welcome. And the one person that could make her feel so much more at peace was gone.
Reina usually never felt this sad at all but today was just one of those days and as she looked out at where speckles of snow littered her window frame – she felt a little more better. A small smile growing on her face as she placed her fingers onto the glass frame delicately. Harry loved it when it snowed and that just made her a little sadder.
"Mummyy!" Reina's saddened mood lifted almost at the soft screeching her ears had picked up. She shook her head with a little smile on her face. The soft pitter patter of footsteps gave her an idea that her little ray of sunshine was coming her way.
"Althea, my tiny dragon – didn't I tell you to not scream when I'm just a room away?" Reina sternly told her two-year-old daughter who was practically spoiled rotten by her father. Althea was almost a carbon copy of her father with daunting green eyes and curly light brown locks. Her skin so soft and smooth which she had taken from both her parents. But she did have a lot of her mother in her as well. Her pointed nose and prominent cheekbones were thanks to Reina. Along with her fiery and defying personality – that definitely came from Reina but Althea made up for it with such a big heart.
The little girl rushed towards her mother with two toys in her hand. One holding a dragon figurine and another a teddy bear that Harry had made her. The teddy bear was equipped with its own crown and staff just like her father did. Reina opened her arms wide as the little toddler came running into her arms. Reina let out a huff as Althea stumbled into her arms before carrying her and placing her on her lap.
"Vitra pulled on my hair mummy." Althea exclaimed with a soft sniffle. Reina couldn't help but display a soft smile at her daughters complains and sighed before brushing a strand of the little girl's hair away from her face. Reina started to play with the little girl's hair, putting a section of it into a braid before letting her hair go and be free, then doing it again.
"Oh, my tiny dragon, don't provoke a big dragon. Vitra's probably just playing with you my love." Althea pouted at her mother's words. The action being so terribly Harry like that it made Reina's heart hurt a little bit more. The thought of him just made her heart ache little by little, more and more everyday as time passed.
"Mummy?" The sweet sound of Althea's voice brought her back to reality. A small and strong yet fake smile graced her lips as she tried to put all her attention towards her child.
"Yes, sorry my love... So, what do you want to do today hmm?"

Althea liked playing in the snow. That's one thing that everyone in the castle knew. Her sweet loud laughter brought joy to everyone that could hear it. She was busy trying to build a snowman at this point with Reyes helping her out. They were starting to roll a big ball to have as a base while Reina silently watched by their side. She smiled at the sight before looking back down at the book she had in her hands, easily getting lost in her own world with the sound of her daughter's laughter in the background.
"Mummy! Look!" Althea exclaimed while she held a snowball in her hands with the biggest smile on her face. Reina gave her a big smile in return and nodded her head but as she was about to reply. The snowball had fallen from Althea's hands along with her smile. Reina frowned and noticed that her daughter was looking at something behind her. Reina turned to her line of sight and noticed that there was a figure walking towards them.
"Papa!" A simple word that Althea had screamed out loud caused time to stop. Reina basically saw everything in slow motion as her eyes fleeted towards her daughter who was already running towards the shadowy figure. Reina's jaw was dropped wide open as she saw Althea jump into his arms. The two falling back to the snow from her force. Reina shut her eyes for three seconds and opened them, going back into reality. She stood in place, not really knowing what to do at this point.
"Papa! I missed you so much!" Althea screamed out loud yet Reina still seemed to be in a daze. Her breathing was rapid and her hands were getting clammy as she stood. Her knees feeling weaker as ever as she took a few steps towards the two. Her daughter's loud chuckles of glee had her heart singing as she stepped forward. Her small footsteps making imprints in the snow. Althea made sure to hug Harry with all her might, practically suffocating him with her little hands. Her small lips to made sure she left a bunch of kisses onto his face. Her cold ones meeting his warm face every now and then.
"And I you, my tiny dragon." Harry mumbled back in return with his hand resting on the back of her head. His rings getting slightly tangled in her hair as he held onto her, never wanting to let go of her again. His lips brushed against his daughter's cheeks as he placed little kisses of love with a huge smile on both of their faces.
"Papa! You need to see the snowman." Althea exclaimed with excitement and decided to get off of him. She instantly ran towards her work of art with happiness in her eyes. Harry gave her a huge grin and stood up from the snowy floor, brushing off the excess snow that had fallen on him. Reina never took her eyes off of him as he patted the snow off his shoulders and lap, almost as if she was afraid it was a dream and he was going to disappear if she closed her eyes. Harry looked up at the feeling of her heavy gaze. Green eyes staring deeply into hers, seeing the fire in them that he so dearly missed. He walked closer to her with his hands behind his back and a sheepish smile on his face.
"Hi." Harry spoke out of breath at her beauty that he missed very dearly. Both their huffs of air leaving fogs in their surroundings. Reina couldn't register the fact that he was here, standing right in front of her. After being gone for so many months without contact – she assumed the worst. But he was here, standing right in front of her. Harry let out a cough when she hadn't replied still staring at him like she was in a dream.
"I couldn't contact you, I know and I won't here the bloody end of it, I know. I couldn't contact you because the messenger might have been intercepted and then they would've come to you and Althea and I couldn't let that ha-" Harry's words were cut off with a slap to his right cheek. Reina's right hand flew straight to her mouth in shock at what she had done. She stepped forward almost immediately and placed her hand on the area that was warm from her action while she shook her head. Reina frowned and moved her hand away to see the area already slighting becoming pink.
"I didn't expect that welcome back but I deserv-" Harry was once again cut off with the feeling of her lips pressed onto his. His apparent shock was only there for a second before his hands moved on their own. One cupping her neck while the other grasped tightly onto her lower waist. Harry's grip on her grew sufficiently tighter as he felt small wet drops on his face. He pulled away upon feeling the wetness and saw the glassy look in Reina's eyes. He gave her a big smile and placed both his hands at the side of her face.
"I love you so much." He exclaimed and rubbed away the tears that had fallen from her eyes. She nodded her head at his words. Her tongue tied and head filled with so many emotions that she couldn't say a thing.
"Mummy! Papa! Look!" The sound of their daughter speaking broke them from the little bubble they were in. Reina pulled away from him with a big smile on her face before turning to look at Althea to give her attention. Harry kept his eyes trained on Reina, missing every single thing about her. He missed the light in her eyes. He missed the softness of her cheeks. He missed her fiery and defiant personality. He just missed her – all of her and he was never going to leave her like that ever again.
