Utopia
December was when things had started to go a little downhill for the couple. It was Jimin's seventh month and he was already sick and tired of everything, wanting things to be over with already.
But then the two had got into an argument. Even though Jungkook said his break from had started, the man still did work from his office at home. He was a workaholic, there was no doubt about it, but Jimin wasn't appreciating his ambition at moment because of what he'd promised before.
He told Jungkook that he wasn't happy that he was spending a majority of his day in his office despite saying he didn't even need to do work for a few months until after their daughter was born.
And at that, Jungkook got angry for what Jimin thought had no reason to it because he was just expressing his feelings he'd had bottled up for the past month.
So they argued for a long, painful hour until Jungkook declared Jimin to be acting sensitive for no reason. Jimin let it go, heading back up to their bedroom and slamming the door.
There, he laid on the bed and broke into tears, hating the fact that it seemed Jungkook had completely just invalidated his feelings.
He'd also seemed to forget the fact that Jimin was already sensitive as it is when he wasn't pregnant but now that his hormones were shifting, it was easier for him to get more emotional than usual.
Jimin laid there, harping on the thought that they'd promised each other a while ago they wouldn't fight again but it was bound to happen. Couples fight, it's normal. But Jimin didn't like getting into arguments with Jungkook.
He almost sounded like another different person when he was angry and it certainly scared Jimin.
Jungkook stood up from his office chair, sighing heavily. He deeply regret getting angry at Jimin like that now, forgetting that Jimin was more susceptible to getting emotional.
He exited the room, heading up the stairs to go apologize. He knocked on the bedroom door twice, entering despite not getting an answer.
He immediately felt a pinch in his heart upon seeing the boy in tears. He ambled over to the bed, Jimin staring at him before turning the opposite way.
"Jimin-" "Don't, Jungkook." Jimin quickly let out. "Baby, don't do this to me right now." Jungkook murmured. "A-Are you fucking serious right now?!" Jimin hiccuped, the tears falling out of frustration rather than sadness now.
Jungkook appeared taken aback, Jimin sitting up and glaring at him. "I have every right to be upset right now. You got mad at me for completely no reason!" Jimin yelled, getting up and walking over to the closet.
"I had every right to get mad too." Jungkook crossed his arms but that short statement made him sound like a fool in this situation.
Jimin gawked at him in disbelief. "You're telling me that you had the right to get mad all because I expressed my feelings I'd been hiding for a month? A fucking month now because you lied to me about taking a break from work, are you kidding me?! And then you just acted as if it wasn't important and called me sensitive? I'm pregnant you fucking idiot of course I'm going to be sensitive!" He started to cry harder.
"Jimin-" "Fuck you." Jimin turned around, gathering a few clothes and shoving them in a bag. "Jimin where are you going?" Jungkook asked. "I'm not staying here if y-you're going to treat me like that." Jimin was starting to sound sad instead of angry again.
Jungkook just stood there, feeling light headed at the fact that he'd even acted that way towards the younger.
Jimin grabbed a few more things before leaving the room. "Jimin, wait. Please don't go. Can we just talk it out?" Jungkook pleaded. "I just did, but then you got mad, remember?" Jimin opened the front door, pacing over to his car.
He tossed the bag inside before getting in, Jungkook watching dazed as Jimin drove away to who knows where.
"Fuck..." Jungkook let out, tears rushing to his eyes.
Jimin dialed Jin's number, the man picking up after a few seconds. "What's up, Jimin?" He asked. "J-Jin?" He cried. "Oh no, Jiminie what's the matter? Did Jungkook do something again?" Jin assumed.
"Yeah." Jimin cried. "Can I stay over at your place for the night? I t-think we both just need to cool off for a little bit." Jimin asked. "Yeah, Joon's not here so it'll just be us two." Jin informed. "Okay." Jimin breathed out.
"You're gonna tell me everything that happened, right?" Jin wondered. "Yeah." Jimin said. "Alright, see you soon." Jin said before they both hung up.
Once he arrived at his old apartment complex, he carried his small bag inside and took the elevator to Jin's room floor.
He sauntered down the hall before reaching his room, knocking a couple of times before Jin opened and let Jimin inside.
"Aww, What happened?" Jin hugged him comfortingly, Jimin going on to explain the entire situation which he didn't have fault in this time so Jin didn't scold him.
"You poor thing. You ever stop to think that maybe this whole thing with your pregnancy and all is stressful for him too? I mean, he's gonna be a dad soon too and he's probably really nervous." Jin suggested.
"I dunno, I just wish he didn't take it all out on me." Jimin sniffled softly. "Why don't you give him a call later tonight? He's probably really upset with himself right now." Jin insisted.
"I really don't want to." Jimin shook his head. "I know, but you should." He nodded. Jimin sighed, laying down in the couch as Jin stood up.
"I'm gonna get started on dinner. Just relax, okay?" Jin said and Jimin hummed in response.
He ended up falling asleep, his phone ringing while Jin was cooking. It was Jungkook calling, Jin answering for Jimin.
"Hey, Jimin's asleep right now." Jin said. "C-Can you tell him to give me a call whenever he's awake?" Jungkook asked. "Yeah, but I don't think he will. He said that he just wanted you two to take a little time to calm down." Jin informed.
"I just r-really need to talk to him. Please have him call me." The man's voice broke. Jin could easily tell he was crying and of course he felt bad for him. He knew how much Jungkook truly loved Jimin just by the way Jimin would talk about him sometimes.
"I'll try and have him call you, alright?" Jin said. "Okay, thank you." Jungkook breathed out before hanging up.
Once Jin finished making dinner, kimchi fried rice, he entered the living room to wake Jimin. He shook his shoulder lightly, the smaller letting out a small whine. "Come on, dinner is ready." Jin said.
Jimin slowly opened his eyes, blinking multiple times before his vision focused. Carefully, he sat up and stretched a little before getting up and sauntering over to the table where Jin had fixed his plate and set it down.
They both ate quietly, Jin unsure whether to bring up Jungkook or not but he did anyways. "Um, Jungkook called while you were asleep. He says he really wants to talk to you." Jin mumbled.
"I don't want to-" "Jimin, please just call him. You don't even have a conversation right now. Just call him." He demanded. Jimin just nodded a little, continuing to eat his food.
Once he finished, he grabbed his phone and left the table to go talk to Jungkook. He grabbed his coat and slid a pair of slippers on before stepping out onto the balcony, the chilly December air immediately nipping as his skin.
He hesitantly stared at Jungkook's contact before pressing call, holding the phone up t his ear. "Baby?" Jungkook answered almost immediately.
"Can you come back home, please?" Jungkook asked softly. Jimin too could tell he'd been crying. "I'll be home tomorrow." Jimin answered blandly. "Why can't you come back tonight? I just wanna talk things out with you." Jungkook pleaded.
"Tomorrow." Jimin repeated. It was quiet for a few seconds before Jungkook sighed deeply. "I love you, okay? I'm really sorry, baby." He murmured. "Love you too." Jimin replied quietly, eyes getting teary.
Jungkook hung up, breaking down into more tears again knowing at least Jimin still said I love you back.
Jimin didn't get much sleep that night, feeling bad about the entire situation. Jungkook didn't get any at all.
When Jimin woke up the next morning, he decided to just go straight home, Jin stopping him before he could leave.
"Jimin, you can't keep running away from Jungkook every time you two get into a fight." He began. "Why? Isn't that why you're supposed to do?" Jimin asked. "N-No? Oh my goodness..." Jin let out a laugh.
"You're too innocent, I swear." He shook his head. "Jimin fights are normal. You're supposed to just talk it out with each other. Running away just makes things worse." Jin explained.
"W-Why didn't you tell me that before? You know I don't know anything about how relationships work." Jimin started tearing up. "Jimin don't cry, consider this as a learning lesson. Next time you two argue about something, don't leave him." Jin shook his head.
"Okay." Jimin nodded. "Thanks for letting me stay here though." He thanked the older. "Yeah, no problem. Jungkook really loves you, y'know?" Jin reminded.
Jimin simply nodded before leaving, taking his time while driving back home.
Once he arrived, he quietly entered the house and went upstairs to their bedroom since it was still really early, assuming Jungkook must've been asleep still.
He entered the room without much sound, the man fast asleep in the bed. He'd finally managed to get to sleep a couple of hours ago, Jimin smiling faintly as he walked over to the bed.
Jimin laid down beside him, peering up at Jungkook's face. His eyes were noticeably puffy from crying, the younger feeling terrible for making him that upset.
He gently laid his head against Jungkook's chest, planning to just go back to sleep until Jungkook woke up, so he did.
Just as Jimin fell asleep, Jungkook started to wake up, confused as to what pressure he was feeling against his chest until he glanced down and noticed Jimin beside him.
It didn't take long for his eyes to start welling up with tears once again, carefully wrapping his arms around the smaller and pressing and little kiss on his forehead.
He laid there and continued to just admire Jimin's pretty sleeping face, not wanting to let go because he was afraid the boy would leave him again.
After a couple of hours, Jimin started to wake up again, Jungkook's heart starting to quicken.
Jimin's eyes fluttered open, blinking a couple of times before looking up into Jungkook's eyes. "Jungkook-" "Shhh." The man quieted him.
"I'm sorry, baby, I'm really sorry. I promised you I wasn't going to hurt you again, but I did and I feel really terrible about it. You had every right to be upset with me, but I just wish you d-didn't leave me." His voice broke towards the end.
"I know, and I'm sorry too." Jimin murmured. Jimin had never seen Jungkook cry like this, it almost felt off.
"Jungkook, I love you, okay? I didn't realize how stupid running away from you was until Jin told me. I'm sorry." He apologized, reaching a hand up to caress Jungkook's face and wipe the tears away gently.
"I'm going to seriously take a break from work now, m'kay?" Jungkook assured and Jimin nodded, more tears leaving Jungkook's eyes. "Why are you crying so much? Is there something else going on?" Jimin pouted.
Jungkook hesitantly nodded, letting go of Jimin to get up. Jimin sat up, Jungkook taking something out of the drawer of their dresser and slowly walking back over.
"I'd wanted to asked you this soon, but I since we got into an argument, I was afraid you wouldn't want to say yes." Jungkook mumbled, holding out a small velvet box and kneeling down on one knee.
"J-Jungkook..." Jimin's eyes widened a little. Jungkook held his other hand out, grasping onto Jimin's and interlacing their fingers together.
"Jimin, I really d-don't know where to start. I still feel really terrible for treating you the way I did when we first found out you were expecting. Just knowing that I didn't want anything to do with you still hurts until this day, I don't think I can ever forgive myself for it. But I've never been this happy before in my life now that I have you. I'm glad that somehow I genuinely started falling for you and that not only do I have you, but we're having a kid too. I love you so much, Jimin. More than anything and I want nothing else more than for us to be happy and together for the rest of our lives." Jungkook concluded, tears streaming down Jimin's cheeks.
Jungkook opened the box, revealing the pretty engagement ring, Jimin unable speak because of the painful lump forming in his throat. "Will you marry me?" Jungkook popped the infamous question.
"Jungkook, y-you're not playing with me right now, are you?" Jimin hiccuped. "No, Jimin." Jungkook chuckled through his tears. "This isn't a joke?" Jimin questioned, Jungkook shaking his head.
"Will you?" Jungkook asked softly. "Y-Yeah, of course I will." The younger managed to get out. Jungkook smiled at that, placing the ring in Jimin's finger before they both stood up and Jungkook held him in his arms as tightly as he was allowed to.
"Sorry I couldn't do this somewhere fancy, I just felt like maybe now was a better time." Jungkook whispered with a small laugh.
"No, d-don't be. Right now was perfect." Jimin mumured. They were quiet for a while, soaking in the euphoric moment that neither wanted to end.
"I love you, Jimin, okay? I'm so happy I have you." Jungkook mumbled, pressing a short, sweet kiss upon his lips. "I love you too." Jimin replied.
"And I love our little daughter too." Jungkook gently rubbed Jimin's tummy, both of the laughing softly.
"Don't you think it's a bit early to get married?" Jimin wondered. "We're not having the wedding right away, silly." Jungkook laughed at his cluelessness. "Sometime over the summer is when it'll likely happen." Jungkook informed.
"Ah, okay." Jimin nodded. He peered down at the ring in his finger, his heart fluttering at the thought of getting married. He never really imagined he'd get to experience it but here he was, newly engaged with the love of his life.
"My parents are going to freak out." Jimin giggled just thinking about their reactions. "I'm sure they'll be really happy too." Jimin added.
Jungkook just peered into his eyes lovingly, a smile growing across his face. "What?" Jimin murmured. "Nothing, I'm just so happy right now." Jungkook breathed out.
"Me too." Jimin nodded, wrapping his arms back around Jungkook to hug him again.
"Baby?" Jungkook whispered. "Hmm?" Jimin hummed. "Can I take you on a date tonight? I wanna try and make things up to you." He asked.
"You don't think this was more than enough?" Jimin giggled as he held up his hand with the engagement ring. "You know what I mean." Jungkook laughed. "I know." Jimin smiled.
"Yeah, you can." He nodded. "Great." Jungkook grinned, continuing to hug the smaller. "I really love you, Jimin." He murmured. "I love you too." Jimin replied.
They'd both never experienced such a happy moment in their lives before, and they'd definitely remember it for the rest of their lives.
