When Jungkook woke up the next morning and Jimin wasn't in the bed anymore. He assumed the younger was probably making breakfast right now. He sat up and yawned, the warm shining through the windows.
He climbed out of bed and exited his bedroom, heading downstairs to the kitchen to see if that's what a Jimin was doing.
Sure enough, he discovered the boy cooking a simple breakfast of pancakes and bacon. Jimin rushed up to Jungkook and hugged him tightly, the man chuckling to himself.
"Happy birthday. I love you." He murmured. "Aww, I love you too. Thank you, baby." Jungkook smiled and pressed a quick kiss on Jimin's lips.
"I made pancakes, ta-da~" Jimin giggled softly. "I hope you like chocolate chip though." He added. "I do." Jungkook nodded. Jimin attempted to reach for the plates located in the cabinet but it was too high up.
Jungkook laughed as he watched the younger cutely struggle before getting up and grabbing the plates for him. "Tiny~" He teased, ruffling Jimin's hair. "Shut up." Jimin crossed his arms as Jungkook reached for the plates.
They took their time eating breakfast, Jungkook mindlessly talking about random things while Jimin just listened. "Do you wanna go for a walk at the park? If you're not too tired?" Jungkook asked.
"Sure." Jimin agreed. Jungkook glanced at the boy and chuckled softly. "You got chocolate on your face." He said, grabbing his napkin and reaching over to wipe it off Jimin's cheek.
"I could've got it myself." Jimin began blushing. "Oh well." Jungkook grinned.
After finishing breakfast, the two took showers and got dressed to leave to go to the park.
It was bright and sunny out today. The weather was mild enough for Jimin to wear a sweater without burning up so that's what he opted on wearing, along with a pair of jeans.
Jungkook wore a pretty casual outfit compared to his work clothes, a grey crew neck sweatshirt, a pair of skinny jeans and a pair of chunky black boots that made him more taller than already was.
They left the house, Jungkook driving them to the park. "I know you don't really like fancy restaurants but there's one I wanted to take you to tonight that's really nice. I feel like you'd actually like it." Jungkook spoke as he drove.
"It's your birthday, it's about you. You can go where you want today." Jimin assured. "Right." Jungkook reminded himself.
When they arrived at the park, Jungkook found a parking spot and they got out of the car. There was a nice, small breeze blowing, Jimin happy he ended up wearing a sweater or he'd be freezing.
Jungkook took him by the hand and led him to the sidewalk where they began walking along the path. "Wait, Jimin?" Jungkook said. "Yeah?" Jimin glanced over at him.
"Have you told your parents yet?" Jungkook asked. Jimin's eyes widened a little. "No..." He mumbled. "They don't even know dating anyone. Oh my gosh they're going to kill me-" "Hey, calm down, it's okay." Jungkook spoke softly.
"Do you wanna call them later? Or maybe go visit them to tell them in person?" Jungkook asked. "I have to tell them in person, it'll just be awkward if it's over the phone. Plus, I'm sure they'd want to meet you." Jimin explained.
"Yeah." Jungkook hummed. "We can go tomorrow." Jimin stated.
The two were silent for a while as they took in the scenery, enjoying each other's company. There was really no need to talk right now.
They made it all the way to the lakefront before Jimin declared he needed to take a break, so they sat under a tree on the soft grass.
"You wanna go in the morning?" Jungkook asked. "Yeah, that's fine." Jimin nodded. "Wait, no, it'd have to be later, you have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning." Jungkook reminded. "Oh yeah." Jimin realized.
"Are your parents going to be mad?" Jungkook asked. "I don't know, to be honest. They'd been telling me since middle school that when I'm adult I should be cautious with stuff like drinking and having sex or whatever because this could end up happening. I guess I should've listened." Jimin sighed.
"I'm glad you didn't though. I would've never met you." Jungkook looked over at Jimin. The boy looked down at his lap, playing with the grass. "True." He hummed quietly.
"I don't think they'll be mad, just more disappointed because I'm still really young." Jimin said. "Kid." Jungkook laughed a little. "I'm not a kid." Jimin pouted. "I'm just teasing you, baby." He leaned over and kissed his cheek.
He reached over and grabbed Jimin's little hand, interlacing their fingers together. "I'm sorry, Jimin." Jungkook murmured out of the blue. "For what?" Jimin asked.
"I still feel really guilty for saying those things when I was mad at you. That was so stupid of me. I still don't understand why I even got mad in the first place." Jungkook shook his head.
"I forgave you already, Jungkook." Jimin said, gently rubbing Jungkook's hand with his thumb. "I know, I just can't help but still feel bad about it." He said.
Jimin let go of Jungkook's hand and moved closer to the older, wrapping his arms around his neck and hugging him.
"Don't worry about that right now. I want you to enjoy your day today, not sulk about something that happened almost three months ago." Jimin whispered.
Jungkook swung his arms around Jimin's waist and hummed quietly, closing his eyes and taking in a small breath. "I love you, okay?" Jimin chirped. "I love you too." Jungkook smiled to himself.
Jimin leaned away and gave him a small smile. "Come on, let's keep walking. I'm fine now." Jimin carefully stood up, helping Jungkook up to his feet.
They continued walking down the path, Jimin keeping up the contented mood as he talked to Jungkook. All was good until Jimin accidentally bumped into somebody as they walked past a small crowd of people.
"Oh, sorry." Jimin bowed. "It's okay." The other person bowed. "Wait...Jimin?" They said. Jimin looked up and met eyes with the man, gasping quietly.
"Taehyung?" Jimin asked. "Woah, it's been so long since I've seen you. You're all grown up now." Taehyung chuckled. "We're the same age, silly." Jimin giggled.
Taehyung looked over and met gazes with Jungkook, Jungkook giving him a complex look but Taehyung could tell it was pure jealousy. "I really missed you." Jimin gave him a hug without hesitation, Taehyung hugging back.
Jungkook let out a quiet sigh, pushing his tongue against the inside of his cheek. A clear sign of jealousy. Jimin let go and Taehyung looked back at Jungkook, giving a small smile. "This is Jungkook, he's my boyfriend." Jimin said.
"Ah, nice to meet you." Taehyung said and they both bowed. Taehgung eyed Jimin for a moment before realizing. "Wait, Jimin are you-" "Yes." Jimin nodded. "Aww, congrats." Taehyung said sweetly.
"How long have you been here?" Jimin asked. "I just moved back last week. My grandmother is doing a lot better." Taehyung nodded. "That's great! We have to hang out sometime, it's been forever." Jimin smiled. "Sure." Taehyung agreed.
The two exchanged numbers before they said their goodbyes, Jungkook and Jimin continuing their walk. "He seems nice." Jungkook mumbled. "He is. He was my only friend for a while." Jimin said. Jungkook rolled his eyes slickly.
...
Later on that evening, Jimin and Jungkook got dressed in nicer clothes before leaving the house to go to the restaurant.
Jimin had noticed Jungkook seemed a bit tense ever since earlier today and it was honestly bothering him. "Are you okay?" Jimin asked. That's when Jungkook realized he was being too obvious. "Yeah, I'm alright." He hummed.
They arrived at the restaurant a few minutes later, Jungkook paying for valet parking. He held Jimin's hand as they entered the restaurant, Jungkook walking up to the reception counter.
He signed a paper before the lady behind the counter led them down a hall and to an elevator. They got in and went up quite a few floors before the door opened. They were on the rooftop.
There were a few tables and a small stage where a live band was playing music quietly. The lady led them to a table near the edge of the roof, the two getting a great view from their spot.
"Woah, this is so cool." Jimin looked over the railing at the pleasing view of the city. "Told you you'd like it." Jungkook chuckled.
Their waiter came up to their table and took their orders before leaving, Jungkook facing Jimin. "Are your parents nice?" Jungkook asked. "Are you scared?" Jimin asked and Jungkook nodded a little.
"It's fine, they're not going to bite." Jimin giggled. "I'm serious, they're nice. Well, my mom is. I don't know how my dad will deal with you." Jimin teased. "Jimin..." Jungkook whined, the younger laughing at him.
Their food arrived quickly and they ate over light conversation. Jungkook was greatly enjoying himself and things were hopefully about to get even better.
"Hey, Jimin?" Jungkook called softly and Jimin looked up from his phone. "Hmm?" Jimin hummed. Jungkook reached in his jacket pocket and took out a small wrapped box.
"I know it's my birthday but I wanted to give this to you." Jungkook handed it's over to Jimin. "Oh..." Jimin took it, carefully unwrapping the paper off of it and opening the box.
He froze up a little, Jungkook smiling to himself. "It's a promise ring." Jungkook clarified. "I know, silly. It's just..." Jimin didn't know what to say. "What?" Jungkook asked.
Jimin shrugged, setting the box down as he wiped away the oncoming tears. "Oh, don't cry." Jungkook awed. "I-I'm not." Jimin said. "Yes you are." Jungkook chuckled.
"It's happy tears." Jimin smiled through them, Jungkook reaching over and holding his hand. "I have a matching one." Jungkook pointed out. "Great, your gift topped mine and it's not even my birthday." Jimin rolled his eyes and laughed.
"Huh?" Jungkook tilted his head. "I'll show you when we get back to your house." Jimin said. "Thank you!" He smiled cutely as he held his hand up with the ring on it, Jungkook smiling back.
They talked for a little bit longer before Jungkook paid and they left the restaurant.
When they arrived back at Jungkook's house, they changed into their pajamas before going back downstairs and entering the kitchen.
Jungkook grabbed the cookie dough out of the fridge and set it on the counter, retrieving a rolling pin and a few cut out shapes so they could decorate the cookies.
"Can I have my present now?" Jungkook asked as they started rolling out the dough. "When we put the cookies in the oven." Jimin said.
They took their time cutting out different shapes and placing them on baking sheets before placing them in the oven to bake for a little while.
They washed their hands off, Jimin going into the living room and coming back with Jungkook's gift. They stood at the dining room table, Jungkook taking all the stuff out the gift bag.
"Aww, thanks. You picked up my style of clothes that quickly." Jungkook laughed a little. He took out the box with the pair of boots. "Wait, woah...I've wanted these forever but they were always sold out. How'd you know?" Jungkook looked over at Jimin.
"I dunno, I just picked some random black boots and they had your size." Jimin smiled. "Thanks, baby." Jungkook hugged him. He reached to the bottom of the bag and picked up the card.
He opened it and read it to himself, a small smile appearing on his face as he did so. He took out the small paper that was attached and read it over, a smile growing in Jimin's face.
Jungkook read over it twice before looking up at Jimin with a confused look. "It says you ended your lease for your apartment." Jungkook said and Jimin nodded, still smiling.
The man gasped quietly. "You're finally gonna come live with me now?" He asked with a pout. "Yeah." Jimin laughed softly, Jungkook swinging his arms around the boy and hugging him as tight as he was allowed to.
"I'm so happy." Jungkook breathed out, Jimin awing quietly as he hugged back just as tight. "This tops the promise rings, trust me." Jungkook whispered and laughed softly.
"They're on the same level." Jimin said. "Whatever, I'm still really happy about both." Jungkook said. He placed a kiss on Jimin's cheek before letting go.
After the cookies were ready, Jungkook took them out of the oven and let the cool off for a while before he grabbed the icing and sprinkles from the pantry. He placed them in the counter, Jimin standing beside him as they started decorating the cookies.
"Jungkook?" Jimin mumbled. "Hmm?" Jungkook hummed. "Are you going to take a break from work once the time gets closer?" Jimin asked. "Yeah, of course I am. My dad will definitely understand." Jungkook answered.
Jimin nodded, dipping his finger in the icing and slowly reaching over, wiping it on Jungkook's cheek. "Jimin!" He gasped, the younger laughing at him. Jungkook dipped his finger in the icing, Jimin about to run away but Jungkook grabbed his wrist and stopped him.
"Jungkook stop!" Jimin laughed as the man smeared the icing on the tip of his nose. "There, we're even." Jungkook smirked. "Whatever." Jimin pouted. They got cleaned up and ate a few cookies before going upstairs to go to bed.
Jimin laid down while Jungkook switched off the lights and climbed on next to him. He swung his arms around the boy, moving him closer to his body. Jimin looked up and met eyes with him, Jungkook smiling gently. "Cutie." He murmured.
"I love you, so damn much." Jungkook breathed out. "I love you too." Jimin replied. Jungkook leaned in and pressed their lips together for a few seconds, smiling in the kiss.
"On a serious note though, I have to be moved out in less than three days so I have too start packing tomorrow too." Jimin said. "I'll help you." Jungkook assured. "Thank you." Jimin said. "Anything for you baby." Jungkook hummed.
"Get some sleep, okay?" Jungkook whispered, Jimin nodding a little. Jungkook pecked his forehead gently, Jimin letting out a small giggle. "You really love me, hmm?" Jimin teased. "Words can barely describe it." Jungkook said.
"Goodnight." Jimin murmured as he rested his head against his chest. Jungkook let out a quiet sigh, feeling so joyful inside it was almost overwhelming. He loved Jimin so much.
