All Wrong Pt. 4

The ground shook underneath Ever's feet. Behind the tree, Ever saw a plume of smoke rising up from the east. Clearly Kid Flash's diversion was successful.
She heard the sounds of many feet coming up from the ground. The sky was filled with small embers and ash now. She had no idea how Kid had managed it, but he had always been great at blowing stuff up so it didn't surprise her too much. The embers floated down around the arising guards.  They all wielded the strange red weapons that had dissolved the ground in their earlier fight.  She hoped Kid could get away fast enough before they caught up to him.
She waited until their scent and steps faded away until she stepped out behind the tree.  She cautiously walked into the clearing.  Her ears were on point, searching for the slightest sound. She couldn't hear Connor anymore, but she started to head down the tunnel anyways.
She made her way in the top girders, swinging her way above the hallway just in case anymore guards could see her approach. Then, she smelled something, like...burning cement? It was an odd scent, and the air blew it from inside the building and towards the outdid, which was unusual wondering that isn't how air should work at all.
She heard shuffling as she went further down the hall, and finally the hall opened up into the large room that was also quite strange now that Ever could get a good look at it. She couldn't see the ceiling since she was hanging so close to the hall ceiling, but she could see the rudders that all of the guards had jumped them before.
She perched, hovering, her wings out to steady herself, like a bird. Then she heard another sound. She moved her ears up to get a better sense of it, it almost sounded...familiar?
She felt a hand on her shoulder. She jumped.
"Fff-frick! Wally! Don't...do that..."
The golden speedster was perilously hanging behind her, barely able to stay balanced.
"S-sorry! Woah! The distraction worked, I got away before but they seem to be sweeping the area. Yikes! How do you even stand on these?!"
She shrugged, "Wings for balance, and...practice?" She caught him as he was about to fall, burning him closer so he could examine the room.
She looked back to the room, scanning the area again. "I don't see anyone, but they could very well be masking their signatures, otherwise Superboy would've seen them. I don't think-"
"LET HER GO YOU SLIMY RAAAaaaaaAAAA!"
They both jumped back, Ever pressing her ears to the side of her head in an effort to block out the very loud yell.
"That's Superboy! Look!" Wally pointed to the corner of the room.
There was a large container of sorts, it looked similar to the pods they had at project CADMUS, Ever had looked trough their file in the freshman pamphlet. Superboy was held down by the metal, but it seemed to melt around him, keeping him in place. He was again yelling profanities at someone who wasn't seen. But the pod was moving across the room, pushed by someone or something.
On the other side of the room, M'gann was held as well. Her pod was oddly shaped, and it held a red tint. Heat.
She was breathing, Ever could hear that, but her eyes were closed. The heat kept her subdued.
Wally whispered, "Where are the others?"
She shook her head, "If they were caught they were probably taken deeper, Connor and M'gann should've been the hardest to keep captured anyways."
Superboy had stopped yelling, he was looking around. His eyes stopped at his two teammates, he had heard them talking. His eyes widened a bit, but he made a small smirk, and looked forward again, not yelling anymore.
"We need to keep moving, find the others and rescue them first, then we can all get them out afterward."
Ever agreed, she listened for footsteps, and could hear an Ever so slight step every time Connor's pod moved.
"There are people here, but I can't see them, I can't smell them, and I can barely even hear them, but one or two of them are pushing Connor. I don't know how to get around."
Wally seemed to think for a moment. "Do you think you would fly us up to the girders up there?" He pointed to the ceiling.
Ever crunched her forehead, "Maybe, but I can't guarantee I can do it quietly."
"We've got no other choice."
"Alright, hop on, watch the feathers."
Wally grabbed onto her shoulders, and she placed her foot to hold them both, glancing at the place they needed to go. She didn't hear Connor or any invisible steps anymore, so she jumped.
The weight on her back held her down, but she flapped her wings as quietly and as fast as possible. They almost didn't make it, her arm missed the first bar, but another flap brought them closer, and she hung on.
Wally immediately let go and stood on the catwalk, and Ever took a knee, letting out a breath.
"Ah god man, what have you been eating?"
"Chicken Whizzes."
She rolled her eyes but motioned for him to get moving. They moved along the catwalk, Ever's wings were a bit sore from using her wings with her injury, but it wasn't that bad as to stop moving.
They couldn't see Connor or M'gann anymore, they had gone down a separate hall.
"Damn, how big is this place? Has like ten sorts to go down...which one do we choose?"
"I'm not sure, shut up for a sec..."
She listened again for any sound, it was completely silent. She strained, then heard the slightest click.
"Shh!" Ever said to Wally, who was shifting behind her.
The sound continued, it sounded like metal hitting the ground.
"I think I hear Arty's bow, or her arrows. They must have her..."
Wally glanced down the hall, "Then lets go!"
He was about to jump down, but she put a hand his shoulder. "What?"
"Do you want to break those fast legs of yours? We have to be smart, I'll take you down."
They glided down, not making a sound, to the hallway. Ever's foot hit the ground and Wally got off, but her shoulder ached. She winced.
Wally noticed, but Ever just walked forward.
"You go ahead, scout the area do we aren't seen by anyone."
He nodded, then sped off down the hall.
She walked down slower, wings out and ears poised to hear any sound that could alert her of incoming men.
She didn't have to listen very close to hear what happened next.
There was a very loud noise, like a slam or a smack, and she heard something hit the floor.
She ran down the hall, she didn't know what to expect, but she hid behind the door frame as another room was lit up. It held two more pods. Wally had been ambushed, slammed on his head as he ran into the room, he was lying on the floor, not moving.
Eve wanted to help him, but it was clear that the trap had been made on purpose, and, as if to confirm her suspicions, Wally's body was then lifted off the ground by an invisible force.
She glanced up to the lord again, it was Robin and Artemis.
Dammit, now I have to save Wally too, this is all going to hell...
Artemis had her head down and was breathing, but her eyes were closed. Robin was awake, he creaky had given up trying to escape, but he was watching them pick up Wally. He clearly was distraught that his best friend had just been knocked out, who wouldn't?
As he tried to struggle with the restraints, Ever heard a voice.
"Little nuisance didn't even see it coming, even bat-brat was harder to catch."
The air shimmered in front of Ever, and two guards appeared. Their cloak was off.
"Shouldn't we hook him up and keep him? He might wake up."
"Nah, I hear the Flash can vibrate through stuff, wouldn't take any chances."
She flicked a switch on a nearby control panel, and a cell lit up beside them. I sparked and then it's door opened. They threw the unconscious body of Wally inside, then the sore closed and the walls lit up with electricity.
"Bet he won't be able to run out of that."
They laughed, and then started to walk towards the door. Towards Ever.
"Hey where are you going? We need to stand guard."
"Relax, I juts need some coffee, I've been up for hours this job counts as my night shift."
"And what if the other super-powered brats show up? There are still two out there."
So they don't have Kaldur...yet
"You think they're be stupid enough to come in willingly? Hah! They're probably running home to their mommies and daddies, or to the league for help, we've got at least an hour before we'll have a problem." She was right by Ever now, one more step and she would see her.
"But we were told to stay here. You know what He would do to you if he knew you disobeyed orders."
The guard flinched at that, her eyes squinted, contemplating. She grunted, "Fine, serves me right for taking this god-awful job."
Ever sighed in relief as the guard walked away from her hiding spot.
She needed to think of something. She didn't know where Aqualad was, everyone else was captured and she was still not fully functioning.
"Oh man..." she whispered to herself, "I'm totally not feeling the aster..."
