Darkness.

It was everywhere.

Loneliness.

Peter could barely make out where his body stopped and the darkness began. His eyes felt like rolling to every corner just to get a hold of something of light in this dark realm. 

„I was expecting you." A voice broke through the dark, the sudden noise pounding in Peter's ears. „Who are you?" he asked into the emptiness.

The space remained silent, not even an echo to be heard. In complete black, Peter didn't dare to move. „Who are you?" He repeated, his voice lost in darkness.

A laugh filled his ears. „That doesn't matter, what matters is how can I help you?" 

Peter thought, the only thing he wanted was a solution for the whole doomed island issue. But this figure didn't seem to be trusted.

„Show yourself first!" Peter dared to say. „What a cocky attitude, do we have." The voice spoke suddenly very close, right behind Peter, its hot breath tickling his ear. 

A face illuminated in front of him, only a few inches away, causing him to stumble back. It was a beautiful woman, with bright green eyes, her purple hair flowing around her heart shaped face, thin lips curled into a seductive smile. 

„Now, dear, tell me the problem." And so Peter started rambling on and on. It was as whenever he had opened his mouth to speak, he couldn't get it to stop. The words tumbled out, not caring about Peter's desire to make them stop. The eyes of the beautiful woman glowed dangerously as the stream of words descended from its source and right into her possession. 

After Peter finished, he had to take a deep breath. The head was still floating in the air in front of him, a smirk plastered on the beautiful face. 

„What you need is a guard." The woman's voice said. Peter frowned „I don't know about that... Where do I find him? And how do I know if I can trust him?" His words floated in the emptiness.

„I bet you trust yourself, so why don't you do it yourself?" Peter's eyebrows rose as the woman told him this. 

„How?" His eyes shone with curiosity.

„What has accompanied you all the time? What has followed you every day? It never leaves you alone? " The questions repeated in Peter's head. 

„Your shadow." The woman said, her face suddenly only an inch away from Peter's, their noses almost touching. „Your shadow is your best protection. It would be as if you yourself were protecting your precious love." Her words slowly became stiller and stiller until they were nothing but a soft whisper. 

„How do I do that?" Peter replied, convinced of this method.

„That's kind of a small thingy, you just need to rip it off." The face floated back into space.

„Rip it off?" Peter repeated.

„Rip it off, simple as that." A maniacal smile disgraced the beautiful woman's face. „I'm sure you'll find a way to protect your loved one." She pouted her lips. „We'll see each other soon, Pan." And with that she popped away, leaving Peter alone in the dark.

„But what if it doesn't work? What if I fail?" Peter yelled but the darkness replied with nothing more than empty silence.

„What if I fail?!" Peter yelled again, as he rose up. Heavily panting, he suddenly looked into Lily's blue eyes. She laid her hand on his cheek. „It's alright, Peter." She said, her voice calming the terrible headache pounding in his head. „It was just a nightmare." 

She wrapped her arms around his waist, slowly tracing invisible designs on his back, calming his heavy breathing. „You alright?" She whispered against his ear.

„I am." Peter answered, looking into her eyes, his heartbeat steady again, his breathing controlled by her soft touch. „You know I love you, right?" He said, their foreheads resting against each other.

Lily smiled. „I love you too, Peter." Peter's heart bounced a little harder as he pulled her closer and pecked her lips softly. „Let's go back to sleep." Lily whispered against his lips. 

She laid next to him, her head resting on his shoulder, one leg over one of his, her cool fingertips tracing lines on his chest. Under her calming touch, Peter fell again asleep...
