Better "HUT" Service

Marcello wakes up from the nightmare, sweating and shaking. With the back of his hand, he rubs his forehead which was wet with sweat. He shakes his head, trying to get rid of the segments of the dream where an animal had ripped him apart. He looks outside to find the sun slowly rising. Figuring that his sleep and tiresomeness had faded, he decided to start early and make some weapons.
He used the spring water to freshen up and ate stale bread and saltless fried fish which tasted like saw dust. Marcello decided he had to find new food sources as well. Generally to survive an island, Marcello needed foods, fresh water, shelter, weapon and a substitute for colours. He had already found the spring which gave him access to abundant drinking water; he had already found this hut add his shelter but all he needed to do was secure its borders; he had found food but needed to search for more and salt to make or taste edible; he needed to make some weapon to protect himself from whatever it was in his dream and lastly, he had to find a substitute for colours so he could paint.
He got out and went to the forest, collecting all the bamboo he could find. Gathering them, he set to work in front of the hut.
A rock was used to sharpen one edge of a bamboo of average length. He had to slowly rub the two and continued to do so until it sharpened. Marcello tried throwing it with great force and it did work but he thought that the weapon wasn't quick enough. As an attempt to make it quick, Marcello tried to make a sling out of reeds but no matter how tightly he bound them, they seemed to come undid or just tear. In search of any other item, Marcello walked along the coast, looking at the sand, searching for things washed ashore by the sea or something to give him an idea or hint. Making his hands flexible to his new weapon, he came across plastic bottles, a piece of rubber, wooden planks, a notebook and a pocket watch. Figuring that he didn't need to search any longer, he left the ready of the trash unsearched and untouched. He pulled these to the hut along with him.
Marcello wandered inside the forest for awhile, looking for stones and rocks. He stumbled upon a rope of nut which he didn't fail to recognise : Beach Almond. He carefully started picking some out, nevertheless, pricking his finger on the thorns from the hanging creeper beside it. An idea formed in his head as a smug smirk came across his face, as he congratulated his brilliancy.
*************************
Not long after, Marcello was seated cross legged on the sand, squinting as he detached the thorns from the long creeper. He chewed onto the almonds as he did so.
Then he headed to the acacia tree which had earlier caught his eye. He started breaking the bark with the bamboo and a rock. It took a lot of time and strength but finally after a lot of struggle, the bark peeled away and a crack showed up in the trunk. A thick white sticky liquid dripped down slowly. Marcello gathered some of this gum in a banana leaf and covered the opening of the crack with a rock, preventing anymore gum to pour out. He got back to his hut and set to work. He dipped the thorns in the gum and attached them densely at the sharp side of the bamboo. He used the rubber as a sling and tied it tightly around the side without thorns.
Being beyond satisfied with the harpoon he had created, he headed to the sea to try it out. He took his aim and threw it with all his might and the harpoon rushed add quick as lightening. He picked it up from the seabed and saw that it had killed two fishes. Smiling gloriously he carried them inside the hut. While passing, he saw a nest on the hole of a rocky surface. Again, Marcello got to work.
The creepers left without thorns were tied head to head like filaments. This created a long rope type of thing. He carefully attached the rest of the thorns at one end. Then, he collected worms from the forest bed as it had loads and glued them to the same end.
Then be left the harpoon inside the hut and left the fishes to dry in the sunlight whole he headed to the hole with his new weapon. There wasn't a guardian to guard the eggs thus he placed the worms and thorny end inside the nest and waited until the parent birds returned.
The parents eventually returned and both lost their lives as an attempt to eat the worms. Then, Marcello took away the eggs and removed the nest. To his utter surprise ams sheer luck, he found a wet crystal like solid. Slowly he took some on his palm and just touched it with the tip of his tongue:Salt. He collected some and returned to his hut. He was going to have a GRAND dinner that night.
