4. pass
You began to rush forward. Maybe you could catch him. But he was too close to the ground, and you were still too far away. You stopped running and watched in horror as he neared his doom.
SMACK!
A girl with brown hair slapped Broccoli Hair's cheek, and he floated safely back down to the ground. You sighed in relief and turned around to look at the crowd behind you. They were all as stunned as you were.
"TIME'S UP!!" Present Mic yelled, a siren wail following shortly after. So that was it, then. The test was over. You could only hope you'd amassed enough points to pass.
Everyone gathered around Broccoli Hair. They chattered amongst themselves, saying how cool his quirk was, wondering how a kid with such extreme power could be so timid. You looked at him from afar, noticing the way his limbs splayed in awkward directions. You cringed. Had his own quirk really done that to him? What kind of quirk hurt its user?
You shook your head with a sigh. It didn't matter right now. That was none of your business. There was only one thing you could worry about now.
Did I pass...?

The thought ran through your head the whole way home. You'd decided to walk instead of calling your parents for a ride. No doubt they were bursting with anticipation to hear how it went, but you'd needed a little time to mull over the events of the day by yourself.
Even though you were worried about your results, your thoughts somehow turned to Red Eyes again. You furrowed your brows. What was his deal? Why was he such an ass to Broccoli Hair? Yeah, he'd been snappy at you as well, but it seemed like he had something against the poor kid.
Truth be told, when you saw his eyes, you entertained the idea that maybe, just maybe, Red Eyes was your soulmate. The color of his eyes was the same as the one on your cheeks, after all. But there was no way. There couldn't be. The universe wouldn't be so cruel as to pair you up with him, right?
You looked up, realizing you'd made it to your house. You took a deep breath and opened the door. "I'm home," you called out. Your mom dashed out from the living room and engulfed you in a hug. You laughed and returned the hug.
"Here, come sit," she said, grabbing your wrist and pulling you into the living room. Your dad was there sitting on the couch. Your mom pulled you down on the couch between them. They were both beaming at you, clearly excited to hear all about it. "Well? How'd it go?"
"Well, the results won't come for at least a week, so..." you trailed off, looking between the two of them. They didn't say anything, so you continued. "I think I did alright on the written test. I'm just worried about whether or not I got enough points in the battle part."
Your mom grabbed onto your shoulder and pulled you into a quick side hug. "I'm sure you did wonderful, (Y/N)."
"Don't worry too much, shortstack," your dad said, patting your head and ruffling your hair. You snorted at the nickname. He'd used it ever since you could remember, and you were sure he would still call you that even if you were ten feet tall. "I know you'll get in."
The day proceeded as normal. Your mom made your favorite meal for supper, and soon after you headed off to bed. You lied there, trying to sleep, but somehow your thoughts would keep turning back to Red Eyes. You groaned in frustration, pressing your palms against your closed eyelids.
You just couldn't figure him out. He was a jackass, but there had to be more to him than that. You admitted to yourself that yeah, he was attractive. Though plenty of attractive people were bad people. Were your thoughts really just plagued by him because you thought he was attractive?
No, you knew it was more than that. But you refused to believe he could be your soulmate. But what if...? Really, all you had to do was look at his hands. Then you could prove to yourself it wasn't him. If you ever got the chance, that is. There was no guarantee you'd ever even see him again.
You groaned again and turned over, refusing to think on it more. Eventually, finally, you fell asleep.

A few days later, you were sent out to get groceries. Lucky you.
You pushed your cart along and sighed, looking at the list your mom had written up for you. Why did you have to get stuck doing this?
You were abruptly stopped by your cart colliding with another.
"Hey, watch where you're going, dumbass!"
You gaze shot up to the boy in front of you. "Red Eyes??" you blurted out in recognition.
He scowled. "The hell you just call me?" You kicked yourself for using the stupid nickname out loud.
"Uh, sorry, sorry. I just...recognized you from the entrance exam," you apologized. His expression shifted slightly. Now he just looked more annoyed than angry.
"Oh, right, Red Cheeks," he muttered. You let out a laugh.
"What kind of a nickname is that?" you teased.
"Well it's not like Red Eyes is any better!" he shot back.
"Well I didn't know your name!"
"Yeah, well I didn't know yours either!"
You huffed. He had a point. "It's (L/N) (F/N). What's yours?"
"Why should I tell you?" he growled, narrowing his eyes.
"Okay, I guess I'll just call you Red Eyes then," you replied with a shrug. You didn't know how you were keeping so calm right now. His stare really was intimidating. He rolled his eyes with a groan.
"Bakugo," he grumbled. "Bakugo Katsuki."
"Alright, Bakugo, I've got some shopping to do," you said, pulling your cart back and away from his.
"Yeah, whatever," he muttered. He passed by you with a dismissive wave. You noticed his hand, your eyes widening.
He had a (E/C) mark on his palm.

You walked into your house, groceries in tow. You'd hardly been able to focus on your task after your encounter with Bakugo. Your head was buzzing. Your heart was pounding. It...had to be coincidence, right? Had he noticed? If he did, he was damn good at hiding it.
You set the grocery bags down on the island in the kitchen. Your mom was there, making a cup of coffee. "Thank you sweetie," she said. "Did you check the mail before coming in?"
You shook your head. "No, but--"
"That's alright, I'll go get it. This needs to cool anyway," she cut you off and walked out the doorway. You sighed, but you couldn't blame her. Your results were coming in any day now, and she was almost as anxious as you were.
She came back in moments later, a small stack of letters in one hand. She held up a singular envelope in the other. Her eyes were wide and her breathing was heavy. She must have ran back inside the moment she knew what the letter was. "It's here."
You returned her wide-eyed stare. "It's here?" you echoed. She nodded quickly, handing the letter over to you. You gaped at it.
This was it.
You took a deep, shaky breath and tore open the top of the envelope, taking out a small circular device. A projection shot out, followed by a bellowing, "I AM HERE!" Startled, you dropped the device onto the island.
On the projection was none other than All Might, explaining how he was going to teach at UA this year, and then how you'd done in the exam.
You'd done well in the written test, and you had gathered 61 points in all in the battle portion. You had passed.
"I did it," you breathed.
"You did it!" your mom exclaimed.
A grin broke out across your face and you turned to face your mom. "I did it!!" you cheered, and your mom engulfed you in a hug.
You did it. You were going to UA.
