Finn
The airship was crowded and extremely cramped as Finn socialized with his old friends from school.
"Check it out," one said, "I got the school's crest tattooed on my shoulder!"
Finn winced. "Isn't that a bad idea until you graduate? What if you fail initiation? What if you quit because the classes are too hard? What if your grandpa calls you back to help with the dust shop?"
"What, that old place?" the friend asked. "It's not going to last much longer."
"I don't know," Finn said. "From Dust Till Dawn has been featured in the paper a lot because of all the robberies. Not to mention the girl that stopped their truck a few years back. They've gotten quite a bit of publicity over the years. Who knows? You could get pulled out of combat school to help."
"You know what, Finn? You're no fun." The friend walked away and Finn was left alone.
"Hey, Thorn Buddy!"
Finn turned around. On the other side of the airship, he saw his best friends. Identical triplets named Flare, Fang, and Mick. They had the same appearances, same skill sets, same semblances; the only difference was what they wore. Flare wore red, Fang wore green, and Mick wore blue. They called Finn Thorn Buddy because when they were eight, he had tripped and fallen into a thorn bush. As soon as he hit it, he'd had an allergic reaction.
"Hey, guys!" Finn walked over to them and gave them all fist-bumps. "I didn't know you were going to Beacon. Weren't you going to go to Atlas, where your mom went?"
"Well, we were," Flare said.
"But the air fare was too expensive," Fang continued.
"So she had us stay in Vale," Mick finished.
Finn smiled. "I guess now the only trouble is gonna be coming up with a team name for three F's and an M." The triplets laughed, and Finn knew it was going to be a good year.
