Faceless
Dear Faceless,
You probably don't remember me, but I remembered you. You were in the hospital in the same time I was. I'm leaving tomorrow, so thats why I'm writing you this letter. Faceless, you weren't really faceless, but your mouth was sewn shut. I don't know why, but it was. You could never talk to me, but you still tried to get me happy. You played cards with me, and you always let me win in the start. I remember eating lunch and thinking about how I could never do that with you.
You were in the room next to mine, and I could always hear you. You would always listen to music, this same piano piece over and over again. When my brother cam to see me he call your music stupid and I told him to not judge it before it was over. A few days later I found you in the main lobby, actually playing the piano, playing that piece. It was even more beautiful watching you play than just hearing the song.
I know you probably had a family, but in the month I was there, no one ever came to visit you. No one brought you flowers, or came and read to you. People came every day for me, at least, for the first week. After that it was once a week, and after the month, no one at all.
I kinda lied earlier. I'm not getting out of the hospital tomorrow. My kemo is too expensive so I'm waiting for funds, but, until then, I'll be over in a holding ward. I hope I get to see you again. I reall do.
See, you never told me why your mouth was sewn, probably because I never asked, but.. I always knew you didn't deserve it. Your brown hair, your soft eyes, how you would make small noises to show happieness or disgust. It made you so perfect to me. It made you only have a single flaw, and you didn't even need that flaw. It was something that you were givin unfairly.
So, faceless guy, thank you for the last four weeks. I hope you make it back to the real world, away from this place. I I hope you live another day.
Love, your crappy cards player,
Revina Deminto
