Actually, I thought the day was going to be a mess until I remembered having a date. Maybe spending time with sweet Will will help me clear my head.

Oh please don't judge me! I'm not just using him, I just find myself thinking about him when things get messy.

I picked up my phone to meet his message waiting for a response.

*What time do I pick you up?*

He wanted to pick me up but I drove to work, why didn't I think of that this morning. I should have come by bus, silly me.

It's a good thing I have a jobless brother! I was thinking of asking him to start a restaurant and stop lasting around with his girlfriend, my best friend. It was high time he started working like he suggested.

I texted him to come pick up my car.

*Meet me at my office by 4pm! Please don't be late* I texted Kelvin.

*By 4:30pm, is that fine?* I texted Will who was quick to reply.

I smiled at the emoji attached to his message and dropped my phone completely ignoring the tons of text messages Chris had sent to me. The thought of him annoyed me, who was I kidding? I was only jealous of his fiancée and disappointed by his presence.

Am I hurt? Yes! Am I angry? No! Right, for some reason I wasn't angry. I was simply hurt and disappointed.

He could have told me from the start and I would have tried to forget him after all he already forgot me. I wouldn't have tried so hard to remind him of myself.

I remembered my discussion with Annie again and became worried for him. What if the person he thinks is his mother is not his mother? What if his memory situation is worse than I thought? He doesn't even remember his own brother, does he mother not remember as well?

Trust me, my head was a mess. As much as I wanted to help him out, I also wanted to stay as far away as possible.

You can't become a bad person because of him, just do the right thing.

So I did! I left to see my doctor.

It was 2 O'clock in the afternoon. I should return in time to hand the car key over to Kelvin and go on my date. It was a good thing my doctor wasn't exactly busy and had a special spot for me. He was my father's best friend's first son and always cared for me as a sister.

I know what you are thinking and I'd love to let you know how wrong you are. Anderson is married to a very lovely woman with two kids and trust me, their love is my greatest inspiration to love.

"He would be aware of an amnesia Khloe, the only thing that could have affected his memories would be a memory manipulation. It is mostly carried out by hypnosis". He explained but I wasn't exactly sure I understood.

"I really don't get you". I confessed.

"With memory manipulation, you replace the original memory with a false one. Most of the symptoms would be the patient reciting what is meant to be his past like he was reading them out of a book. It is not very much in use yet but some people do it". He explained further.

It was finally starting to make sense. One thing I did not understand was who would do this to him and why? As much as I didn't want to think about him, I was worried for him.

"Who is this person by the way?" He asked me.

He knew Chris so well, in fact they used to be close. They had this bromance I couldn't quite understand, even with a three years age difference. Anderson was another person who deeply felt his absence like I did.

I fought ever urge in me to tell him it was Chris. He was going to do everything in his power to get me to bring him in but for now, until I find a way to manage my feelings, I don't want to spend any time with him.

"A friend, you would see the patient soon but right now, I have to go. Thank you so much for your time Anderson". I replied him.

"Oh it was my pleasure! I heard about your mom though, I've been wanting to come see you but the I heard Kelvin was home". He said.

Thinking about my mother again, I couldn't help the sad face that crept on my face but I was quick to mask the sadness with a smile.

"Kelvin is long over that Anderson". I told him.

The truth was that I wasn't so sure! What if he wasn't over it just as he wasn't over Hilda?

Remember Anderson's lovely wife? She was Kelvin's first girlfriend ever but that isn't a story for today as it was already almost 4pm.

"You sure?" He asked me and I nodded.

"I have to be somewhere, you can always drop by my house. I miss little Jayson and Jade" I told him after which he saw me off to the car park.

He made a promise to drop by soon, I just hope Kelvin doesn't create any unnecessary scene. It's been five years already after all.

I made my way back to work, thankfully there wasn't any traffic on the way and I made it back at exactly 4:09pm. Just as I expected, Kelvin hadn't come, the silly boy didn't check my message at all. I was forced to give him a call.

I had to call twice before he finally picked up.

"Where have you been all day? I sent you a text for goodness sake". I yelled at him.

"I've been busy okay? Is everything alright?" He asked.

"Yes! I need you to drop by my office as soon as possible to pick up my car". I told him.

"Why? Oh the date?" He asked. I could hear Hilda's voice asking if I was going on the date.

"Just come pick up my car and abandon whatever it is you are doing" I told him.

The whole day was long enough for their stupid secret love, it was about time he made himself useful.

"Whatever!" He replied ending the call.

Rude motherfucker!

I left my car key with Pat while I awaited Will's arrival. He showed up at exactly 4:30pm looking as handsome as ever.

"A man who keeps to time". I teased!

"That's only proper". He replied with his million dollar smile.

Isn't Will amazing keeping to the exact time? Sometimes I wonder if too perfect is a good sign or a bad one.

Memory manipulation! I don't know if it is a scientifically proved thing, I just had to make up something to fit into Chris's condition.

By the way, who do you think tampered with his memories?

And oh! Anderson and Kelvin, who else can't wait for their scene and who is curious to find out how Anderson married Kelvin's first girlfriend.

I bet he cheated him! Anderson is a good five years older than Kelvin and he shamelessly married his girlfriend or not!
