On his birthday Jem woke up to the sight of Will dressed in his gear, casually flipping through a book while leaning against the bed.
“Why do you have a book that features a bloodthirsty little duck?” he demanded.
Jem  chuckled but there were tears in his eyes as he hugged his parabatai.
“Happy Birthday Jem”, Will smiled.
His eyes closed, Jem smiled back and whispered, “Thank you, Tess.
