Johnny's POV-

"Ben, wake up! Wake up!" I said

"Where...where am I?" Asked Ben waking up.

"Back on Earth. Victor's medical facility... We're in quarantine." I replied

"Kassidy? Reed? ... Sue?" He asked

I divided to have some fun "They're fine. Everybody else...is fine." I said with worry.

I looks away, as if I can't bear to lay eyes on him.

"What's wrong with me?" He asks a bit panicky.

"I swear to you they've done everything humanly possible. The best plastic surgeons in the world, Ben. You had the best -" I said to make it sound convincing.

"Give me a mirror..." Ben says.

I pick up a hand mirror on the bed table before Ben could reach it, I was reluctant to give it to him.

"They said that's not such a good idea the shock alone could -" I started.

"Give me the god damn mirror!" He demands

Ben grabs it from me. Then slowly raises it to look and see that...except for some serious stubble, Ben's totally normal.

"Unfortunately, the doctors just couldn't do anything to fix your face!" I say laughing as I head for the door.

Ben heaves the mirror at me, breaking it into hundreds of pieces.

I saw Reed walk down the hall. I see his hair is at the greying at the temples.

He passes me, I'm still smiling, still enjoying my joke on Ben.

I slow down, to get a good look at Reed's hair.

"Nice 'do. Going for the "grandpa" look?" I ask laughing.

I keep going.

I pass a partially open door.

I stop when I catch a glimpse of Kassidy asleep in bed.

I see a vase of flowers.

I grabs a couple lilies, and enter.

But as I do I see ...the room is already filled with expensive flowers.

All from Victor and Reed and Debbie and some other people who might be her friends.

I see doctor writes on Kassidy's chart.

A wall TV plays a press conference with Victor, outside the FACILITY.

He looks worse for wear. A few hairs out of place, and a small bandage on his face.

REPORTER :

You've been accused in the past of moving science a little too fast --

"Accused by who? My competitors?" Asked Victor.

REPORTER #2

But surely this accident gives you pause -
"Danger is always part of discovery. What would have happened if Ben Franklin never went out in a storm Without risk, there's no reward." He said.

REPORTER #3

So where's the reward? You promised a cure-all.

I see Victor pause. For the first time. Just a flicker.

"And you'll have it. I've never come
up short. And I'm not going to start
now." He said

REPORTER #2

So you're still taking VDI public --

"Yes, of course. I've never been more confident in the compan--" Victor was saying before I mute it.

"How's she doing?" I asked I was worried for my Ex-girlfriend as she is my first and only true love.

"Stable. Vitals are strong." He said.

I take the clipboard, looks for myself.

I know some things.

"Blood panels show no irradiation. Good. You'll step up this protocol, every --" I was saying, God I sound like Sue and Reed.

"Four hours. We know what we're
doing... One more day of observation, then you're all cleared." He said.

The Doctor takes his clipboard, and walks out.

I step close to Kass, with the drooping flowers in my hand.

I start to say quietly "Kass..I want to tell you...I'm..."

WHOOSH.

A nurse rolls in with a tray bearing ten more extravagant bouquets. I probably look resigned. I walk out.

As I do I realise which one they're putting there.

"She's allergic to Daisy's. Put the ForgetMeNots by her bed. They're her favourites." I say.

As I begin to walk out I hear her say 'Thanks Johnny.' I look and see her awake.

She gets up and gets changed into some warm clothes a Ski outfit.

"And where do we think we're going?" I asked

"Johnny don't think I've not noticed you looking at the Alps and besides I'm fine I need to get out." She says .

I smirk and go and get changed as she follows.

She waits ten minutes then comes on to see me struggling with the zip.

"Could you give me a hand with this zipper?" I ask

She nods and zips it up.

"Too bad this is not a ski resort." She said

"Not yet." I say

I open the cardboard box, revealing a colourful fiberglass object the size of a briefcase. In the blink of an eye, I unfolds it into a long snowboard.

"Luckily grandma still sends care packages." I said.

She giggles.

"Meet me at 4:01, top of the run. That'll give you a minute to freshen up." I said.

"Sure but don't think I forgive you or have feelings for you I'm just bored and I know I shouldn't be doing this so your the first person I come to." She said.

"Sure!" I replied.

The chopper hovers over this pristine peak. Me and Kassidy sit in the chopper-bay, prepping our ski gear.

Mine is a customized snowboard has wild, acrylic patterns.

Kassidy wears a hot pink cat-suit, her skis dangling out.

Their bodies are close which is quite awkward.

We look down at a death-defying black diamond run.

"Stay right. Left is trouble." I said

"Last one down springs for room service." She said

She pulls down her goggles, jumps out.

"That's my future wife" I say to the pilot.

I drop out after her, hitting the snow.

He takes off after her and the chase is on!

"You're on fire!" I hear her shout.

"Thanks you're pretty good too!" I said

"No! You're ON FIRE!" She screams.

I see my gloves are burning, I flick them off in alarm.

My body shudders the back of my ski suit catches on fire.

A burst of flame launches me down the slope like a rocket.

I lost control and crashed and it's as if I flew.

I melted the snow into a warm pond.

I see Kassidy ...she sees me smiling, sitting naked in an impromptu hot tub, staring at my hands. My body. Exhilarated.

"Care to join me?" I ask

She smiles lightly and unzips her Jacket.

Just as she is about to give it me snow starts to fall.

"Kass!" I shouted she looked and saw the avalanche.

She raised her hand and it moved around us.

It stopped.

She looked at her hand. Confused.

She hands me the coat as I wrap it around my um, area.

We see the helicopter.

She puss her hand up to signal it but disappears. Teleported even.

All that was here was her clothes.

The helicopter comes and there stood Kassidy in a towel.

She looked at her clothes.

"I am n-not wearing t-those." She shivered

I understood why I mean they are in snow.

We was walking in a rush to find Sue, Ben and Reed.

We heard talking so we stopped and listen.

It's sounds like Sue "And it's nice to be wanted sometimes. To be heard...seen... Reed, look at me." She said.

"Uh, Sue...? I can't." He said.

I look at Kassidy and see she faces palmed.

Sue sounded angry "What? What do you mean you -"

"Sue...look at your hands."

We walk in.

"You guys will not believe what just happened to us!" I said.

They look up to see me and Kassy in the doorway, naked except for Kassidys pink parka for me and a towel around Kass wrapped around our areas.

They look at us.

"This. I can explain this!" I said

Reed got up.

"You better and If it turns out you did it with Kassidy-" he was saying.

"Not saying I want to but I am more than capable of doing it with Johnny." She said.

Double doors burst open.

Reed, Sue, Kass and me urgently walk.

"It has to be the cloud. It's fundamentally altered our DNA." Said Sue.

"Let's not jump to conclusions, we need
a massive amount of evidence before making that leap." Said Reed.

Reed glances over his shoulder. He stares. Sue follows his gaze to see my fingertips are on fire.

I snap my fingers. They go out.

I'm totally unharmed.

"Now picture that but everywhere. What?!" I say

The my look past me so I turn and there stood Kassidy.

Towel tucked in around her area and arms outstretched, with things levitating.

'That's awesome!'

"Thanks Johnny." She said.

"I didn't saying thing" I said

"Yeah you said 'that's awesome'" she said

"Oh My God! You can read minds! I thought it not said!" I said.

"The cloud has fundamentally altered our DNA." Said Reed deadpanned.

"Cool" I heard Kassidy mumble.

"What'd it do to you guys?" I asked

"Apparently I can disappear." Said Sue

"Please tell me you go silent too." I said.

I heard Kassidys true laugh which I have missed.

Reed looks deep in thought.

"We have to find Ben." Said the Richards' siblings.

Johnny snaps his fingers -- which generate small explosive bursts of flame. He turns it on and off, like the "CLAPPER."

"Flame on, flame off. Flame on, flame off --" I say as I start to get the hang of it.

"Johnny." I hear Sue warn.

I do it again.

"Flame on, flame off."

"Stop it!" She said angrily

"Okay, "mom."" I say with sarcasm.

We bang on the door try the code and shouting to him nothing.

Reed decided we can't wait any longer.

He kneels to the floor.

His arm stretches, thin enough to creep under the doorjamb.

Reed's arm wriggles under the door. It bends upward, swiping clumsily, until it finally grabs the knob.

Rubbery fingers find the latch and unlock the door.

Reed pulls his arm out from under the door and snaps it back into place.

His flesh and bones reforming before their eyes.

I stare at Reed.

"Ewwwwwwww. " I said

And Kassidy let a "That is disgusting." Go.

We hear a tremendous SMASH from inside the room.

We open the door.

The room is trashed.

Every stick of furniture smashed to splinters.

"...Ben?" Asked Kassidy

"Ben!" Shouted Reef.

Our eyes adjust; there's a huge hole where the window use to be.

We rushed to it.

Looking out we see something large in the distance, running away.

"What is that thing?" I ask.

Kassidy looks at me then slaps my arm.

"You idiot." She mumbled.

"I think that thing is Ben." Said Sue

Oh! Yeah I was being an idiot.

Reed and Kassidy look out, Reed worried and confused while Kassidy emotionless probably thinking.

They both are possibly thinking 'Is that their best friend...?' I would too.

Suddenly, Victor comes around the corner.

"What's going on?" Asked Victor.

"Victor, are you feeling alright?" Asked Sue in worry.

He nods. He never shows weakness.

"Just a little banged up. A couple scrapes. Why?" He said.

"Ben did this." Reed said with disbelief.

"Ben did this?" Repeated Victor as if not sure.

"We would wouldn't say Ben of we didn't mean it." Said Kassidy angrily.

Reed and Kassidy looked at each other eyes changing and moving.

"He's had some kind of...reaction to exposure from the cloud. And he's not the only one." Said Reed I. A rush to get back to Kassidy.

"We need to find him." Said Sue

Victor redirects his attention to Sue.

"Victor, I'm sorry I --" she started

Victor cut her off "Just find him." He said a little coldly. Harsh.

She looks done sad.

Victor strides off, leaving the us.

Me and Sue look to Kassidy and Reed, we are their eyes moving facial expressions different and a few hand actions.

They stopped and nodded.

They turned to us.

"Anybody know where the big guy's going?" I asked

"That's what me and Reed was discussing." Said Kassidy.

She looked to the ground as did the rest of us.

We saw a picture of Ben and Debbie together.

Then it all clicked.

"He's going home." Said Reed
