Chapter five

Long story short, Pulse lost. It wasn't his fault, though. The dumb Dodou joined the battle and they almost arrested him. He fled. His insides panicked as he ran. " I need to make myself stronger." He decided after that battle.

He walked home and collapsed on his bed. His mother took back her bed, so he had to go farther. He groaned as he did. Every part of his body ached.

He rubbed his head as he tried to go to sleep. He couldn't. He thought of that school. He tossed and turned. He finally got to sleep. He had dreams of Ruri beating him.

A snarl came from him as he woke up. His mom peeked in. " Good morning." Choroba greeted him. She didn't seem as afraid of him. He groaned as he got up and stretched. " How was your sleep?" She asked him as she lead him to the table.

He glared at her. She only placed a plate of Pokepuffs on the table. Pulse licked his chops greedily. He sank his fangs into the pokepuffs and gobbled them all.

" It was okay. A little too interrupting, but it's fine." He commented as he confused her. She didn't question him. He went back to stuffing his face. He wiped his mouth. Then he got up out of his chair and ran out the door.

He ran straight into Jabetu. " Can we talk?" She asked. He blinked at her. What's she doing here? He asked himself. He nodded. Jabetu lead them into the woods.

" You have been acting strange lately. What's up?" She asked. Pulse only snarled. " Nothing's up. It's not any of your business." He growled. It was more than he didn't want her to know. He didn't want to get her in trouble. He actually cared about the stabbing creature.

" It is my business. You're my friend. I demand to know why you're so secretive!" She yelled at him. He whipped around and began to walk away from her. " No! I won't let you leave!" She shouted as she appeared in front of him. She blocked his exit. " I want you no part in this." He snarled.

" Well I want to include myself in all the parts of this." She argued back. " No! I don't even know if I can trust you!" He barked back at her, anger flaring in his voice. Things became awkwardly silent since he said that.

" How can you say that?" She asked silently. Pulse didn't answer. He just stared at her. " Because I have a huge secret, and I'm sure you wouldn't approve of it." He said blankly. Her eyes seemed to widen at that point.

" Did you," She began with her mouth a gap. " Did you kill your father?" She asked him. He didn't expect her to realize it that fast. He just turned the other way and ran off. Screw school today. He would have to start to run away now! He was sure Jabetu would hate him for what he has done.

Then that would most definitely make his future dream true. He thought gloomily as he walked through the forest. He supposed he had run away far enough.  She didn't follow him. Good. He thought as his paw got caught on a tree root.

He felt it twist. He cried out in alarm as he tumbled to the ground, hearing his paw make a sound he didn't believe was possible. His face smashed into the ground. He tried to pull his paw out of the root, but it was both stuck and broken.

He growled in anger. Now his whole life was ruined because he had a broken paw. He could most definitely kill someone else if it wasn't broken. Now he couldn't even lift it. He let himself lay there. He didn't lay in self pity. He just laid there and looked around.

He didn't want to bark out for help either. He gazed at the forest around him. A Pidgey watched his struggles before sticking his tail feathers in the air. Then the Pidgey laughed at him. He snarled at him. The Pidgey panicked and tried to take off.

Of course he forgot about Pulse's fire attack. He spit out a little He fire and the Pidgey screamed in pain. And did Pulse stop from there? No it only fueled his anger. He spat more and more fire at the creature until he was poultry.

Only then was Pulse satisfied with himself. He heard his name being called by Jabetu. He didn't bother. She will just turn me into the police. He thought. Laughter filled the air. Pulse sniffed the air. By then the scent didn't matter and the Gengar popped in front of him.

" Greetings, Pulse. The situation we find ourselves now in is hilarious. You are now utterly powerless against me. You're stuck!" The Gengar made fun of him, laughing.

" If I wasn't stuck I would burn you to death." He growled. " Awe. Is little Pulse still mad he lost the battle against two puppies and a badass sexy villain?" He taunted. " No. Because I predict there will soon be a sad little funeral for you, fatty." Pulse snarled.

" Fatty? Why does everyone think we Gengar are fat?" Slider asked, very insulted with that. Of course that didn't stop the little prick from putting on sunglasses and thinking he was cool with them on. He was very muchly a dork with them on.

" Probably because you are." A voice said. " Huh? Who's there? I've got the move Toxic and I'm not afraid to use it." Slider asked, throwing the Toxic move at a tree. It disintegrated, but it missed its target.

Jabetu formed in front of the Gengar. " That's cute, but that won't affect me." She said as she poked the Gengar in the stomach. He screamed. A small amount of blood formed on Jabetu's head from where she poked him.

Pulse was actually very surprised at that. " Leave us to our business, sword." Slider commanded. " Nah. It seems to me like you're going to hurt my friend here." She says. " What makes you say that?" Slider asked with a sadistic smile.

" The fact that he's stuck and you're a creepy smiling Gengar. Plus weren't you in jail?" Jabetu asked him. Slider only laughed. " You're pretty. And nosy. How about you say you forget this and we go out sometime?" Slider flirted.

Jabetu rolled her eye. " No thanks. I have my eye on someone else." She stated before knocking the ghost type off his feet by using the flat part of herself. Slider yelped. " You better leave Pulse alone!" She yelled. She seemed really mad.

Pulse was wondering why. She should be mad at me for killing my own father or worse, but yet she looked for me and is standing up for me. Pulse thought. His paw hurt a lot.

" No." Slider said. He charged up an attack. A shadow ball. He fired it at her. She disappeared and used Sword Dance. Then she fired a Flash Cannon, destroying a tree while injuring the Gengar. Slider managed to get up and use Shadow Claw.

Jabetu stopped him by slashing at him. He yelped and got struck by the attacking sword. Jabetu used Gyro Ball. That defeated him without her doing much. Jabetu was a better fighter than Pulse ever saw.

But, then again he never saw her fight. Slider woke up and ran away, saying stuff about her power being unnatural. Pulse let his head hit the ground as he blacked out from the pain in his paw.

He could hear his name being shouted by his friend, but he let the comforting sleep consume him. He had a pretty decent sleep because of it. He didn't mind being unconscious. It was comforting compared to the earful he would receive when he would wake up.

Of course he had to wake up at some point. So when he did, he was greeted with a Chansey. He jumped up, trying to leave already. Chansey pushed him down. " I'm sorry, sir. You have a broken paw. You can't be getting up just yet. We just put that cast on. Your friend brought you here. You're lucky you have such a caring friend." She said.

Pulse just stared at her. Jabetu floated in. " I'll leave you two alone." Chansey said as she waltzed out in a very good mood. Pulse held his broken paw, which was now in a cast.

He glanced at his friend. " Why?" He asked her. " Why What?" She asked him. " Why help me? I killed my father." He said, whispering that last part into his friend's ear. " Do you really think I care if you killed him? Look," She began, floating around his bed, seemingly nervous for some odd reason.

" It doesn't matter what you did to your father. I won't tell anyone. I care about you more than telling on you. Plus that's a dorks job." She commented. " You're not afraid of me?" He asked. " No. I am not afraid of you. You're my friend. If you want to be evil, then I won't stop you." Jabetu said with a
Smile.

Well, Pulse couldn't tell. He couldn't tell if she had one or three eyes either. It looked like she had three. " Thanks, Jabetu." Pulse thanked, looking at his broken paw. " You're a good friend." Pulse said.

" I know." Jabetu commented. " Look, you can't keep that secret from the rest of this town for long. Eventually this secret's going to blow up in your face.
Look, I'll help you keep it, but there's already some Pokémon who have suspicions of you killing your father. Paarthurnax and his little shiny side kicks are a huge example. I've heard they're trying to figure out a way to prove Ruri's innocence, and your guiltiness." Jabetu said.

" Really? You're willing to keep this secret for me?" Pulse asked. " Of course. You mean more to me than really anyone else. Plus you seem to be the only other person knowing We objects of spirits have emotion feelings too. We're not just objects that come to life on our own. It's not like I wanted to be in this sword. But I guess it's because I'm such a female knight." Jabetu commented, sedimentally.

" It's nothing." Pulse stated. " Thanks for the warning by the way. Paarthurnax is an annoying bitch. His little squad will ruin my life. Literally. I need to ruin his in return. Can you please help me? I know it's sudden and out of the blue, but I'd rather be evil with you than all alone." Pulse spoke, touching his cast.

Then he seemed to realize something. " Oh shit! I'm going to miss class...and I guess you are too, heh." Pulse said, feeling emotion creep upon his cheeks. If I ignore it, he thought. Maybe it will go away.

" It's okay. I told the teacher with this fancy new thing called a phone. Just kidding it's not that new. Well it's new to me. And I can barely use it without dropping it." Jabetu stated, holding out her phone before it fell from her grasp.

" Anyways, we are both out of class. I totally didn't just ditched class and used you as an excuse to leave." Jabetu sarcastically said. Pulse rolled his eyes at his friend.

" So it's an excused absence? And what about my mom?" He asked. " Your mom knows about you breaking your paw and being out of class. She doesn't know why. And no one should really know." The sword said.

" Good." Pulse commented with a nod.  " And you will join me if I am banished from this town?" He asked hopefully. He thought he sounded too hopeful and desperate, but didn't know why.

The Chansey came in. " Sorry to interrupt you, but you are free to go, sir. You and your friend can leave now if you wish. But you have to try to stay off that left front paw of yours for eight weeks. And we need to give you this, so you can use it in case of emergency."

Pulse nodded. " That's all. Here you are," Chansey told him, handing him a pair of crutches. " You are free to go." She told them. Pulse sighed as he and Jabetu left the hospital, a new secret between them both.
