Chapter nineteen

It's been months since the fight with Majnun.

Things were starting to get semi back to normal.

Everyone in town had noticed Pulse, Jabetu, and Hasira had gone.

Of course no one cared Hasira was gone, but they noticed.

Pulse, Hasira, and Jabetu went back to school where Pulse had noticed Paarthurnax continually kept an eye on him.

Suspicion was in his gaze.

He watched him almost everywhere.

Pulse heard from Choroba that Paarthurnax had tried to get him arrested by the Police Force, but the police force didn't believe him.

They might now, but so far nothing has been proven or lead back to Pulse.

It was another day in Poketown.

There was no school, so Pulse was hanging out with Jabetu.

Hasira bounded up to them with a happy expression on her face.

"So how's Rau doing?" Pulse asked the shiny as she bounded up to them.

Pulse had never seen her so happy, and he always seen her happy.

"She's doing better! Mom and Dad are treating her like a second daughter! I can't believe they let her stay." Hasira yipped with a huge loopy smile on her face.

Pulse nodded.

"That's good. She doesn't really have anywhere to go, and Choroba wouldn't let her stay with us."

Pulse would have threatened her, but she reminded him of how little money they have right now, so they couldn't take care of another child. Especially a young child.

Plus a young mother with two children was usually busier than one with one.

Plus I killed my dad, so I suppose that's fair.

Hasira frowned.

"But she's having a lot of nightmares. She's been doing better, but she still dreams of Majnun. Usually it's him slaying Pidove. Other times, she's explained how he was raping her. She seems quite scarred. I fear she may be scarred for life."

Jabetu shrugged.

"Well, what can we do about it?" She grunted.

She wasn't there to see the horrors that Majnun had placed on the Pidove and shiny Froakie, so she wouldn't know what to do. Anyways, she was still young and she didn't know anything about curing or helping those who've witnessed horrible things.

"Well, my parents have set her up with a therapist. It's expensive, but they want to help. I do too. I've been trying to take her to the park. She seems okay. It's been months since the incident, but nothing I do is working." Hasira sighed.

This was the first time Hasira has hung out with them since what's happened.

Hasira has been hanging out with her new sister.

"Well, have you tried helping her make some new friends? She might need some." Jabetu grunted.

Hasira sighed.

"My parents tried and tried again, but Rau won't play with any of the Pokémon."

"Have they been setting her up with males? Maybe that's the problem?" Pulse suggested with a small smile.

Hasira shook her head.

"She won't talk with anyone. It's been getting bad. She only really talks with me. She doesn't trust my parents. She keeps asking for you, though, Pulse. You, and those nice Wurmple." Hasira informed Pulse.

What? Me? Why does she want to talk to me?

"She wants me? Why?"

Hasira shrugged with a lovestruck smile.

"Maybe it has to do with how protective you were of Pidove? I mean that was so sweet what you did."

Pulse grunted.

He didn't like being sweet anymore.

He was just being helpful.

Plus, he got some eggs out of it and a possible new ally once she became old enough.

Plus, Pulse heard about the news of a new squad created by the ugly lizard, called the Starter Squad.

So far he got a couple of members that included himself and his Bulbasaur and Squirtle friends.

He was also greatly training up himself and his friends to help others.

Pulse knew the squad so far wasn't really going the best. It had just started.

It is going way better than the Police. What is even the point of the police? Aren't they corrupt or something? I mean, they haven't even arrested me yet, so yeah. They're corrupted.

They have captured a couple of villains. It was scary because any villain they captured meant bad news for Pulse.

Once Paarthurnax and his little minions got to a certain level of capturing skill that would mean bad news for Pulse.

He only knew it would be so long before they made the town realize how truly bad the Houndour truly was.

Pulse didn't want to hide. Only cowards hid. He was no coward!

He shook the thought off.

"Whatever it is, she needs to know she can trust others. Sure, not all Pokémon should be trusted, but she needs to know some can be trusted. There are good Pokémon in this world, after all."

And I'm not one of them.

Hasira nodded.

"I was thinking you could come over and tell her that...?" Hasira questioned as her face turned pink and she looked a different way.

Tell her that myself?

"I suppose I can come over, but who will watch over the eggs? I promised Jabetu I would come over and watch them while she went out to meet some random ghost type." Pulse remarked.

Jabetu was doing okay with taking care of the eggs.

She had them under constant surveillance and even though she was taking care of herself since her family died in a racist related movement, she was still able to keep watch on them whenever she wasn't in school.

She usually had a Pokémon from her ghost village, or one who was left over from that village, come over and watch them.

Today, the Yanmask couldn't come over, so she asked Pulse to watch over them since he was the one who asked her to keep watch over them.

"Oh! Well that's a pickle. I suppose I can come over and watch them for you, Jabetu." Hasira offered, though she didn't seem pleased to be talking to the sword.

Pulse knew she always was jealous of the ghost type. It might have been only deep regarding she liked Pulse, but she knew Jabetu was closer to him which could cause some conflict.

It was still nice of the silver Eevee to offer to come over and help.

She probably had a reason to say no, but she offered to help anyways.

"Oh! Thanks!" Jabetu remarked with a slightly warm smile. She rarely smiled at anyone.

"After all, I don't trust you to be able to take care of any egg. Speaking of, where are you even going?"

"She's going to be meeting with a ghost type she met through Ulysses' introduction. This ghost type is actually the first one besides the Yanmask who she actually liked." Pulse explained to the confused Eevee.

The Eevee smirked for a second before giving off a softer smile.

"That's great! Is it a male or female?" She wondered.

"Oh. Well, he's a guy." Jabetu remarked.

"He's a Lampent. She's really looking forward to it." Pulse informed.

"What's his name?" The shiny Eevee asked, invested.

Pulse was freaked out at how excited the shiny Eevee was. He was sure that she was convinced she had just won a world war.

"His name is Akaldeep. Akal for short." Jabetu informed the shiny Eevee with slight distrust.

"Are we sure we can trust you? You are giving off a creepy vibe." Jabetu questioned the shiny, her eye emotionlessly staring into the shiny's dark brow ovals.

The shiny Eevee nodded.

"Of course you can! I can take care of things! You can trust me!"

The Eevee growled slightly in annoyance.

Jabetu glared at her.

"I suppose we went this far." She mumbled.

"Okay, but make sure nothing bad happens to either of them!" Jabetu ordered her.

"Of course not! I wouldn't do anything to such previous life!"

Silently, she added, "Unlike you, you evil sword."

After things have been decided, Jabetu went to go hang out with her friend in a weird cemetery. Ghost types were like that sometimes. Hanging out together in the creepiest of places.

I suppose ghosts find that romantic once they die and become ghost types.

Pulse shuddered.

The cemetery was probably the place where they go scare random Pokémon, and jumpscare them as a prank.

Either way, Pulse was glad he wasn't the one subjected to this sort of play.

Ghost types were weird sometimes.

"Hey, Pulse, you haven't been to my house before?" Hasira questioned.

"No. I haven't. We don't hang out." He commented.

"Oh." The Eevee remarked before smiling. "We should do this more often!"

"What, have me come over to try to get a shiny Froakie interested in other Pokémon and less frightened?" Pulse asked in a grunt.

He swore he was only doing it because the shiny had potential. He could feel it. Just like with the eggs he had.

He was sure that Pidove was taking care of those eggs and hatching them because otherwise he would be convinced these had actual families.

Judging from the shiny Froakie, this Pidove that died was the only one who was taking care of them in that house.

Pulse smirked.

He couldn't wait to see what the strange eggs would hatch into.

One he couldn't tell what it would hatch into. It didn't even look like any other egg he has seen.

He's seen a couple of eggs in his health class before, but he hasn't seen a sort of egg that looked exactly like that.

It could be a brand new Pokémon!

Either way, he was going to teach whatever was in those eggs how to be a villain. They had no choice to be good or bad, they would just have to act the way he wanted him to.

He could use them against the Starter Squad. It would be perfect.

"We're here!" Hasira yipped loudly as her tail wagged in happiness.

She opened the door with a key and lead the black dog through the house.

"Oh, hey dear!" A female voice barked. "Is this your friend you're always talking to me about?" A female Vaporeon wondered as Hasira walked past a room.

"Yes, mother, this the houndour I was telling you about. Isn't he cool?" Hasira barked with joy.

The Vaporeon laughed. "Yes, honey. He's very cool." She then cleared her throat. "He's also very handsome if I do say so myself."

Pulse wanted to die right there.

He knew he was handsome—roguishly—but he knew she was thinking it for her daughter.

He didn't even like her like that. He would never consider her even for a moment.

Hasira nodded.

"Isn't he?"

Pulse tried to shrink.

It didn't work.

The Vaporeon laughed. "I was only kidding, silly. Well, good luck with Rau. She's been having a hard time trusting anyone the poor frog."

Her face turned sad.

"I wish she would trust me more. I've been trying to work on it, but she mostly keeps her door locked."

Pulse nodded.

"I'll do everything I can to try to see if she will relax around you and your husband, ma'am." Pulse told her.

The Vaporeon gasped.

"Oh! My husband! I forgot to introduce you to him. He's not exactly...an Eeveelution, but we were able to produce a shiny Eevee offspring. Pax! Come and meet Hasira's friend!"

The Vaporeon's call brought about some loud footsteps.

The Vaporeon giggled.

"Anyways, my name is Indra. It's nice to meet Hasira's friend. She's never really made any friends before. Anyways, Rau is in the room with the blue and black door. Can't miss her."

Pulse nodded before an Arcanine thumped into the hallway.

"I'm here!" The Pokémon exclaimed joyfully with a smile.

The Arcanine spotted Pulse.

"Oh! Hello there! I was expecting something smaller! Like a Ratatta! But you look like a nice lad!" The Arcanine woofed in excitement.

Pulse leaned away.

Was this Pokémon a part of the police force?

Pulse didn't know.

He wanted to get away.

"Thank you! I'll go talk to Rau now." Pulse informed as calmly as he could before he padded to the black-and-blue room so he didn't have to talk up to the Arcanine anymore.

He sighed as he closed the door.

The Arcanine was nice, but intimidated him.

How was that even possible?

Author's Note: We are starting to come to the conclusion of this story.

I kind of wanted to end on a couple of notes. I know so far it doesn't really explain his fall to evil much, but it does explain something I hope.

Anyways thanks for reading
