Featherkit opened her eyes. She saw her brother, Troutkit, a gray and black tabby Tom with Amber eyes. She saw her mother, Silverheart, a silver tabby she cat with blue eyes. She saw two kits swimming in a small pool of water. What do I look like? she wondered. "Silverheart, Can we go out of the nursery?" Featherkit asked. "Yes little one," Silverheart meowed. The two left. She saw a dark blue she cat with green eyes. Featherkit bounded over to the she cat. "Hello, I'm Featherkit," the small kit mewed. "You must be Silverheart's kit," she meowed in disgust. "I'm Oceanwave, the deputy and I have more important things to do than talk to a kit," Oceanwave practically spat out the last word. Featherkit could tell Oceanwave didn't like her. She padded up to another warrior. He looked like Troutkit. "Excuse me," she started. "Featherkit," he meowed. He has the same deep voice she has heard before. "I'm Splashtail, your father," he meowed. "Hello," the two said in unison. "Do you know where a puddle might be?" Featherkit asked. "Over there," he meowed as he pointed with his tail to a puddle. Featherkit ran over to the puddle and looked down. She looked like her mother. She was a silver tabby she cat with bright blue eyes. I'm pretty adorable, she thought.
