I tried to focus on my schoolwork, but there were so many distractions. I could watch television, read a book, roleplay with my friends on Wattpad; it was just too much!

Sighing, I got up to go into the kitchen and make some coffee. Maybe that would help me focus. Just before I opened my bedroom door, I heard something.

The sound was nothing, really. Just a tiny whoosh. It could have been the wind in the trees, or the rush of a distant car.

But that particular sound was all too familiar to me. 

The sound intensified as I scrambled to my window and peeked out. Nothing. Then I realized that the sound was coming from my backyard.

I ran to the back door and put my hand on the doorknob. It could have just been the wind, I thought to myself. No; it couldn't have been that. That sound was far too loud to be the wind.

The door creaked as I opened it. My eyes widened when I saw it. The only thing in the universe that could have made that sound...

The TARDIS.

The TARDIS was in my backyard. My backyard. Mine.

I gasped as the door clicked shut behind me. I walked down the porch steps, and up to the doors of that beautiful blue box.

I knocked on the door, subconsciously reading the plaque I had memorized long ago. "Hello?" My voice was shaky. I cleared my throat. "Hello!"

The door opened, to reveal a tall man, looking down curiously at me. "How can I help you?"

Speechless, I peeked around him and into the box. Bigger on the inside, I thought to myself, It's really him!

I turned my gaze back to the man. Studying him from head to toe, I took in his hair and jacket, right down to his blue converse that matched mine perfectly.

He was still looking at me strangely. Then I realized that I was too. Suddenly embarrassed, I tried to smile. "Hi,"  as I looked into his eyes, I couldn't help but genuinely smile. "I'm... Alexandria." I held my hand out for him to shake. "What's your name?"

He smiled as he took my hand and shook it. "I'm the Doctor."

At that moment, I knew that one of two things had to be true;

1} I was currently experiencing the best dream ever.

2} This was real, and my life would never be the same.
