What is it about tonight?

My heart is filled with delight

As lyrics permeate room

I've lost that feeling of doom

Soft beat of musical notes

Have set my spirit afloat

And so, I pick up my pen

Give into creative yen

Words dance across the lined page

Leaving behind months of rage

For tonight I feel some joy

My spirit yells out, "Ahoy!"

My soul again can find words

That fly as free as songbirds

Soak up this feeling of bliss

As warm as a lover's kiss

Tonight, I feel gratitude

For a splendid interlude
