We finally arrived at the Palace. I was relieved, I ordered James to go ahead of me and get the best palace physician to attend to Victoria in my suite. Once out of the Limo I took in the sights and smells before I once again gathered Victoria up in my arms. The stairs to the front door were lined with some of the most faithful servants that had taken care of me while I was growing up. I smiled at them all and told them "I am so happy to see you all again, I would hug each and everyone of you, but as you can see my arms are slightly preoccupied." they all nodded in understanding, smiled, and eventually laughed. I laughed with them. Not the fake kind of laugh but the one filled with mirth. I thanked them all for giving me such a warm greeting, and expressed my unending gratitude to them, then excused my self to attend to the woman in my arms. They all went back to their respective duties and I made my way towards the grand stair case and up to my suite. I bounded up the stairs and into the corridor of the second floor. I walked a ways down the corridor passing different rooms, some drawing rooms, some music rooms, some solars, etc.... basically everything in which one could dream of that would fit within a castle. Finally I reached my rooms kicked open the door and walked in. I took a minute and took in my room, it felt like I had been gone for so long, but everything was within its respective place, exactly as I left it. I took Victoria to my bedroom suite and laid her sleeping body upon my bed. I pulled the covers up and over her, and tucked her in. I shut the doors behind me, and sat down in a chair at the desk near my bed. I wanted to be close enough to Victoria, but I needed to write a little note to my mother.

I went through my draws, and found paper and an ink pen. I began my note to my mother.

Dear Mom, 

I am home, I am sure that one of your "spies" have already informed you of my arrival. But I am not concerned with your spy right now. I wished to inform you that I brought a woman home.

My thoughts were interrupted as a loud "Knock,Knock,Knock" rang through my room. I set my pen and paper back down on my desk and ran to the door. I opened it up and saw the palace physican was at the door. I ushered him in and led him to Victoria, who was lying unconscious in my bed. I quickly gave him a run down of what had been going on, he gave her a quick examination. Once he was finished he said that I had done all the right things. "Your highness, you have done everything in your power, and followed your instincts. I commend you." he said, I breathed a sigh of relief, "right now, the best thing for her is to have you near. When she wakes, she will probably be in a bit of pain, I am going to go ahead and cast that leg. She needs to stay off it whether that be through the use of crutches or a wheel chair, more than likely for the next couple of days she will want to use the wheelchair, but we shall let her decide. As for the anxiety attacks, try to help her relax a bit, stay away from stress and out of the media's attention. Give her a few days to recover." I nodded my head and acknowledge the good doctor's wise advice. "Thank you, I do appreciate what you are doing for Victoria." "It was no problem your highness." with that, the doctor took his leave.

I sat back down at my desk and continued to pen my letter to my mother. 

Mother, this woman is not just any woman, she is the one that I love. I hope that you will accept her for who she is. As of right now, she will be staying in my suite so that I may keep a close eye on her. She has been through a lot within the last couple of days. 

I love you Mom, and I hope that you will acknowledge this letter and take it in good faith. I shall endeavor to do my best to make you proud. I hope that you can understand my choices.

P.S please go easy on her mom

I finished my letter to my mother, folded it up and sent it on it's merry way with a butler, to be delivered directly into my mother's hands. 

With that I stood up from my desk and walked over to the bed that Victoria was laying in. I situated my self on top of the covers next to her and pulled her in close to me. I whispered to her "Victoria I swear to you upon my crown and my life that I will protect you!" I heard a faint mumbled response before Victoria once again fell back asleep.
