Azama

Ahhh... fresh spring air during war is the best. What about a hint of sarcasm and a Buddhist healer who has no filter on him when he speaks? Yeah, that's how your day went.

You were just another healer yourself, but captured by Kamui's army and taken in as a unit. It was strange at first as they had to talk you into joining the army since your mind was loyal to Norhian rules.

Peace and war don't ever go together. That was what yin and yang were for. That strange closed eye Buddhist priest always talked too you during your camber days.

It's only been a month since you finally joined the army, but making friends was harder for you. Even challenge to an extent to wonder what was wrong with you.

You took a walk to relax, let the worry and thoughts of war be washes away forever. Sadly, that would never happen in your world. The birds were chirping, river flowing, grass swain by the wind. What more could a better view and piece of quiet was this?

That's the problem. Blood and bodies would invade your peaceful mind. You sat up and groaned at the images. "Make them stop... they're not real..."

"What aren't real?"

You gasped and turned around. The closed eyed freak stood there with his healing rod in hand. It looked like he had just finished healing others because the front of his shirt was soaked with blood, but he had no wound there.

A war went inside your head if you should tell this man the truth or not. "N-Nothing... just talking to myself."

Azama chuckled under his breath. "That isn't new in my book."

Was it strange for a healing whose sin was wrath? Maybe only too you, but you were Nohrian so that was explainable. "What the heck does that mean?!"

"You Nohrians always seemed to be doing something crazy, even killing other people for no apparent reasons."

You scoffed and kicked dirt at him. "So, you having closed eyes, do every Buddhist have close eyes and insult other people who heal people alongside him?"

"Only on my weekends. But no, I keep my eyes close because of different reasons."

"Reasons like what?"

"I'll tell you if you tell me about your crazy Nohrian dream."

You were about to protest about crazy dream, but if dreaming about blood and dead bodies weren't crazy, then you didn't know what else was. Looking at Azama, you felt a strange connection of thinking you could bond with this crazy Buddhist.

"Alright fine, but if you make fun of anything I say I'm going to feed you to the bears."

Azama rose his healing rod and bowed. "You have my word."

You waited for him to come over and sit down next to you, staring out at the river. The breeze felt good on your tear stained face as you breathed and started your story. "I was only little when my parents me sold to slavery. They were tired of working more hours just too feed three children. I was the third who was the youngest and couldn't work, so they sold me to slavery just to make some lousy coins. It wasn't until the battle field they placed me under the healing tents to treat wounded soldiers."

The scene was clear inside your head. Bodies burning or laid around the ground, waiting to be healed while begging to be put out of their misery. It was a true and total Hell on earth.

"My powers were too weak at the time to heal the serious wounded, but I could never forget the faces of those who were dying in front of me. I vowed from that day forth to heal those who were in pain, even if they are my enemy or friend."

After speaking Azama was quiet for two whole seconds, "Wow. A Nohrian who can feel emotions and not kill. I'm impressed!"

You growled and got up. "I knew it... you are a total jerk..."

"Don't you want to see what my eyes really look like?"

"I'm guessing they're full of lies, like yours."

Azama laughed and sat up. "My, grumpy today, are we? But no, my eyes are shaped like stars."

You began to laugh, but Azama was dead serious, and you could tell by his straight face. "What? Really?"

"Yes, but I'll show you if you promise to keep it a secret from everyone else." His frown turned into a smirk. "Or I'll tell everyone that you accidently drank your own urine while in the prison!"

You gasped, wondering how he knew, but his was Azama. You sighed and nodded. "Sure, let me see them. And I promise to not tell anyone about your eyes."

"Alright, here goes."

He did show you his eyes, and they were star shaped. To this day, you always hung out with him near the river, always.
