Chapter 36
A/N: If you could imagine me as a character of the story, who would symbolize the real me? Tag a friend who you think symbolizes any character from the story but he/she must not be a fireflaker.
"Dad I could drive to my university and I'm not going to the campus with this fancy lavish car. No!" I coo looking at my dad and he pouts.
"C'mon Snow! Okay, I'd let you buy a car as your wish later. But use it until then!" Dad makes a puppy face and I mouth him an okey.
Robert, who dad introduces as my personal driver, opens the door for me and Zayn and we both slide inside the car.
"Woah! It's such a nice car Snow!" Zayn tells leaning more against the car's seat. He crosses his hands behind his head and closes his eyes.
"Looks like you're enjoying my lifes more than me." I chuckle and he nods up and down, smiling.
"You could live with me here but pity I can't tell you to live without your husband." I blink my eyes dramatically and watch him blushing.
Finally our ride stops and Robert doesn't open the door for us as I instructed him before. I don't want to feel like Idina Menzel singing let it go on red carpet everytime I get down from my car. I get out of the car by myself after Zayn and we walk to our classes.
I've changed, a lot. Getting down from the car like a showstopper, being extra careful about what am I wearing, keeping my body shaped by avoiding all the food now I stuff my tummy with - that Snow is long gone and isn't coming back I can assure that.
And who has changed you Snow?
Shut up subconscious.
"Hey, look at this Snow." Zayn stops me by my wrist and gestures to the poster hanging on the notice board.
"Cultural week?" I whisper to myself looking at the headline.
"Let's go for the audition, it'll be fun!" Zayn tells excitedly.
"Zayn I have only performed a drama when I was in 8th grade and it was a horrible experience of rotten laughs!" I tell rolling my eyes at him.
I've always been that one who'd hide herself on sports or cultural week, get nervous during physical exercise exams or in music classes. Because I've always been bullied in school for the desirable life I had, for my dad. I still remember spending more time sobbing inside the bathroom more than attending my classes.
Home, which only consisted of my dad, that's the only feeling which kept me alive in those horrible days and a person who betrayed me later, Madison.
"It isn't 8th grade and I know you'd make it!" he tells patting my shoulders. "Please Snow, I'm requesting you something for the first time and.................okay fine." He sighs in the most dramatical way.
"Okey okey fine!" I nod when he doesn't stop blackm me with his puppy faces.
Collecting a leaflet from the basket behind, I read the entire leaflet carefully. The week is held by the cultural club and they have also arranged some competitions and stage performances on the final day. Students and teachers from various universities would gather in one place to celebrate the week.
"If I'm auditioning for something, it's singing." Zayn tells entering into the class.
"I haven't find anything suitable for me yet." I chuckle flipping the leaflet.
"I have." Zayn wiggles his eyebrows and points to the stage drama part.
"Are you crazy Zayn? Me and drama? Such a bad couple! I'll be shamefully rejected in the audition and I'll be thrown rotten cauliflowers for sure!" I laugh and he rolls his eyes.
"C'mon Snow! All of the stories are based on famous novels and I bet none in the campus has read as much as you have read novels." He shrugs his shoulders lightly.
"And now my life has become a story." I tiredly smile and Zayn squeezes my shoulders.
"I'll not pressure you but think about it, don't be shy." Zayn tells and I nod.
We take our seats in the second bench and after a while the professor enters.
"Today we're gonna discuss about abnormal cell division. It is really necessary to know about this because it's the root of tumor and then cancer.........................."
The professor continues and each and every word coming through his mouth, enters through one of my ears and then passes through another. He keeps lecturing about it and I wake myself up by hitting my head with the desk.
"Are you okay?" Zayn whispers and I nod.
Zayn and I both walk to the cafeteria after the class as per our daily routine. Zayn stops me from taking black coffee this much and finally we both end up in ordering orange smoothies and fries for us. I look at the football ground through the glassed door of the café and my eyes pop up.
Harry, the last thing I expected him to wear is a football jersey. I feel my heart skips a little when he bends a bit front, shoving all his sweaty long curls on his face, resting his palms on his knees. I look away immediately when he flips over his hair and runs after the moving ball again.
"You grab the takeaways, I need to use the washroom, excuse me." I tell Zayn and then make my way swiftly to the washroom.
I splash some cold water against my face and suck the extra water in with a tissue paper. I look at my reflection and laugh at my own. This face looks like it's perfectly ready to be buried down six feet under the ground. Maybe I'll be dressed in a gorgeous gown soon, just like my wedding day. What'll be the difference?
"I wanna come to you soon mum, I want to be in your arms and tell you everything what happened!" I tell looking at my reflection and notice a water drop sliding down my cheeks.
I wipe away my tears and put on some make ups on my highlighted bones. I can perfectly pass for a horror movie with my nowadays face.
Shoving the things back into my bag, I walk outside the washroom and then walk to my cabinet.
Before reaching to my cabinet, I curse under my breath after bumping into someone and creating a mess all over the floor with the things inside my bag.
"Sorry, I..................."
I cut myself off by looking at the person in front of me. The same green eyes which pierces my heart, is piercing my heart again, yes they are. But his eyes are bloodshot and he has grown stubble down his chin.
"You...you're drunk?" The words slip from my mouth and I curse myself mentally for this.
He never pours alcohol in his system neither he smokes, the thing which surprised me when I got to know. He smirks looking at me and then in a moment I'm pressed between his moist torso and the cold metallic cabinets behind me.
"Harry let me go." I coo looking down, moving my hands in his one tight grip.
He raises my face by my chin and makes me to look at him. He takes my full face in his hand by pressing his thumb and index finger against my cheeks. I look at his bloodshot eyes and easily understand that his blood is full of alcohol when his warm breath hits my face.
For the first time ever, he isn't smelling like vanilla, he smells like the lined up liquor bottles in my dad's personal bar, the smell which pains my breath, my memories.
"Look at me, look at my eyes and tell me that you hate me, tell me that you don't love me anymore. You're talking with fucking everyone but me." He tells cupping my cheeks.
"Harry you're drunk and you've no idea how much you're hurting me." I try to push him away but he takes both of my hands in his again and holds them tightly behind my back this time.
"I'm hurting you? You can't even imagine how much Harry Styles can hurt you Miss Snow Clifford. You're acting like I was the only one who've hurt you. Such a stubborn red angry bird." He whispers against the cold skin down my earlobe and an unwanted moan skips from my lips.
"See? I can still make you moan my name only by a whisper." He tells brushing his nose against my cheeks. "If you think you're punishing me, you're wrong Miss Clifford. You're hurting you and yourself in this wrong procedure of hurting me." He whisper yells.
"Yes, you're not the only one who've hurt me but you're the last person I expected to be betrayed by, the last person to be broken by." I whisper making eye contact with him.
"All I need is a chance. You're just being stubborn, I consider it alright." he sighs.
"All I need is a life, I'm too young to face all this Harry." I close my eyes sucking in a breath.
"I'll make my way towards your heart again, that's a challenge." He tells boldly, causing a shiver pass down my spine.
"Snow I'm....................."
Hearing Zayn's voice I push Harry away with a jerk and stand closer to Zayn. I run my trembling fingers in my hair and tuck my hair behind my ears unsure of how to react. Harry walks away without any reaction.
"Did he.....did he hurt you?" Zayn asks lowering his head and I move my head left and right.
"Let's go, have you taken your medicines?" Zayn asks.
"No.....I was just going to............"
Zayn passes me the medicines and we both walk to our most common place, the football field. We both sit there on the grass as I tell Zayn that I don't want to go home now.
"He was drunk; I've never seen him like this." I tell resting my head on Zayn's shoulders as I feel my head heavy.
"You two can't lead your life normally without each other. Everyone, including you two knows that very well." Zayn tells caressing his hand against my hand.
"You know what Zayn, I know that very well too but I'm not ready to realize. Somehow my heart isn't agreed to go back to him, I'm too scared to take chances anymore, I'm too tired. What if I'm hurt again? I won't be able to bear the same pain again Zayn." I tell when Zayn caresses his palm on my cheek.
"Let's take you to visit my family today." He tells excitedly and I look at him being shocked.
"Your family lives in.........."
"No, they've moved here. My younger sister is going to get admitted here in fashion designing. So mum decided to shift here. I was thinking about staying with them but Liam would become so lonely without me." He tells smiling shyly.
"I'm so excited to visit your sweet family but will it be a problem if I visit tomorrow? We don't have classes tomorrow that means I'll have more time to spend there." I ask gathering our empty juice cups.
"That'll be better. Mum will be so glad to see you, she loves you already." He tells excitedly with sparkling eyes.
"Have you told your family about you and Liam?" I ask standing up from the ground with Zayn's help.
"Not yet. Liam has told his mom and she said that she has no problem with our relationship. I don't even know how my family will take it. You know what I mean." Zayn smiles sadly looking at the ground.
"Don't worry, your family will understand too." I tell squeezing his shoulder.
After a lot of yes and no, Zayn finally wins the battle of walking with me to the car. He's always acting so overprotective around me and I feel lucky to have a best friend like him.
Sharing goodbyes, my ride to home starts. I buy some gifts for Zayn's family for tomorrow on my way to home. I'm really so much excited to meet his family. I've seen their family pictures and his sisters are really adorable. He's blessed with one of the sweetest family and he doesn't have to get used to alcohol to calm down his blood like I'm doing nowadays.
"Ma'am you want to stop at the bar?" Robert asks and I nod looking outside of the window.
