Picnic

PART 1 IS IN THE 30 OTP CHALLENGE, "FIRST DATE"

A pair of best friends rushed home, the breeze flitting playfully through their hair. The trees and plants became a blurry wall of mostly green, dotted with the waving daisies. They passed the playground again, raising their hands in greeting as they zoomed pass, the kids waved back energetically. Killua flushed slightly at the past event, internally face palming.  Gon just laughed, glad to have such a cute, wonderful person as his special someone.

They reached the door, scrambling inside to prepare their impulsive picnic. The older of the two slammed open the refrigerator door, which somehow did not break, and began to pile meats, a variety of vegetables, some flatbread, and a small watermelon on the kitchen table.

The ex-assassin grinned and ran his hands under the faucet along with Gon, who just smiled back.

"Alright! Let's do this!"

Killua plucked a knife from a drawer and started to slice the meat into thin sections while Gon separated the greens. He tossed the vegetables into a salad bowl and added some tomatoes and cucumbers, finally pouring in the sauce. The boy covered the bowl with plastic, sliding it to the side.

Killua distributed the meat onto the thin slices of bread, rolled them up, and cut horizontally. He made a dozen miniature rolls and placed them in a container, also pushing it aside. While Killua was finishing the main snack, Gon sliced the watermelon into cubes, dumping the pieces into a separate container.

They grinned at each other. "I'll go get a basket!" Gon chirped.

"I'll get the cloth!"

It was almost afternoon by the time they were done preparing. Grabbing the food and the blanket, the two males ran outside, giggling gleefully as they chased each other up a hill. Kilua spread out a blanket and Gon dropped the basket on top.

"Hey! Don't drop it like that idiot!" the younger male scowled.

"Whoops, sorry." said the more childish one as he stuck out his tongue.

Killua flicked him in the forehead, "Idiot."

"Can't you think of any other names besides 'idiot'?"

"Moron. Imbecile. Stupid. Fool. Dunce. Dumba-"

"Ok! Ok! I get it!" Gon wailed, waving his hands frantically.

Killua sniffed, "I could go on forever."

"...Meanie..."

The silvernette just glared back, letting out a sigh. "Yeah, yeah. Hurry up and eat already."

"Haaaai!"

Gon dropped to the floor, landing with his feet crossed, eyes glistening with excitement. Killua raised an eyebrow and sat next to his bouncing friend, taking out the rolls. He popped open the container and set the lid aside, Gon quickly snatched one and shoved it in his mouth.

"Dish is gwod."

"I...can tell..." blinked Killua. "Just. Don't spit on me again."

Said male nodded, munching on another roll. Killua grabbed one for himself and took a bite. The two stared at the sky, pointing out the cotton clouds and the birds that glided over them as they chewed their salad. They spent a few hours sitting on the blanket, laughing at each other's interpretations of a cloud's shape.

Gon took out the watermelon and energetically opened the lid. He then immediately dug out a fork from the basket and picked up a cube. But before he could open his mouth, Killua leaned forward and bit off the piece of fruit, savoring the sweet, watery treat.

Gon stared at the now empty fork while Killua chewed on the piece of watermelon. They stayed like that for a while, before Gon looked at Killua with a hurtful expression, eyes glimmering and mouth pouting.

"O-oi, what's wrong?"

Gon just pointed at his friend's mouth, tears spilling out dramatically.

"If you want one, just get another." Killua huffed.

Gon continued to stare at Killua, said male could feel the blood gradually rushing to his face. Out of desperation, he mumbled,"Do you need me to feed you or something?"

The green-clad boy nodded furiously, a sudden smile graced his lips as the tears dried up. You can practically see a wagging tail along with perked up ears. Killua face palmed, he had fallen into a trap. Gon you sneaky bastard.

"Ugh, fine you baby." The ex-assassin swiped the fork from Gon's hands and stabbed a piece of watermelon.

He sighed again, cheeks heating up, "S-say, ahh, or whatever."

Gon wordlessly opened his mouth, chomping down on the fork, eyes lighting up with glee. Killua stared back at him with a bored expression, but you can see his slightly flushed face.

"Thanks, Killua!" The forest boy chirped, nuzzling into his friend's cheek.

Killua erupted into a shade of red, struggling to push Gon off, "Okay, okay! I get it!"

Gon just flopped down onto the albino's lap, hands encircling Killua's waist, cheek on his stomach.

"W-what are you d-doing."

"I want more watermelon."

"Go g-get it yourself, stupid!"

"Feeeed meeee!"

"Stop being so selfish!"

Gon just looked up with his signature puppy dog look, making Killua freeze up once again. Killua could be quite stubborn at times, but Gon, when he puts his mind to something, it's impossible to move him. Unfortunately, the ex-assassin is extremely aware of this annoying trait. Even worse, it always worked.

Killua threw his head back, "Aaargh. Damn you."

He once again jabbed at another piece of fruit, bringing up to his friend's mouth. Gon quickly bit it off, relishing the refreshing taste. Killua also took one for himself, chewing the watermelon. One for Gon, one for Killua, they kept the pattern going as they watched the sun go down.

By the time they finished their snack, the sun was already halfway gone, leaving behind a mixture of pink, purple, red, and yellow with a tint of blue.

"Okay, now shoo."

"But I don't wannaaaa!"

A tick mark appeared on the ex-assassin's forehead, "You've had enough time!"

Gon just reverted back to his puppy dog look, big eyes staring pitifully into Killua's.

"Oh Hell. No." He hissed, jabbing his fingers into the extrovert's side. Gon yelped, and pushed Killua away, holding his stomach protectively.

"No fair!"

"Too bad."

They spent the rest of the time bickering, poking each other mischievously. It wasn't long before the moon started to come up, shining its soft white rays on the two boys.

"Waaaah! Killua look at the stars!"

Killua looked up, and witnessed the sky sparkling with white dots, the background a color of dark blue with a few streams of violet. He gasped at the sight, barely having time to look at the bright sea of dust during his youthful age due to the hardships of being an assassin. His only view was filled with the blood of his victims and the face of his family.

They stared in wonder at the array of glimmering stars, enjoying the time they have spent together.

"Killua, Killua! Look! A shooting star! Hurry up and make a wish!"

With that said, Gon clasped his hands together, and closed his eyes. Killua looked a him incredulously, still unaccustomed to making a wish. He looked around in confusion, finally copying Gon and weaving his fingers together. But the shooting star was already gone.

"What did you wish for??" Gon asked, eyes shining.

"Ummm, secret?"

"Killluuaaa!"

Said male just kept silent and laid down, his blue orbs filled with the soft glow of stars. Gon pouted, knowing that Killua always ignores him when he gets too annoying. There they lay, the grass bobbing gently as the stars twinkled merrily above them.

I guess my wish has already come true.
