QnA
HEYYYYYYYY!
It is time for me to answer any questions you have, and tell you about the development of the book 😃
How was it, btw? Did u like it? That ending took me FOREVER
Okay.
BE SURE TO READ UNTIL THE END. I'M GONNA TALK ABOUT FUTURE BOOKS 👍
Q: Was Logan doing the experiment for a good cause or not?
A: That kinda depends on who you ask, really. I'll explain more in a sec, cuz another question gives me the perfect opportunity to.
Q: What were the branches?
A: OOO I'VE BEEN WAITING TO EXPLAIN THIS ONE
Branch 1-4: Business and Development
This branch is in charge of capitalism, essential, as well as the country's progression industrially.
Logan originally planned to put Janus there, but changed his plans to Virgil after...well...y'know...
Branch 2-6: Nourishment and Sustainability
This branch is in charge of feeding the population, and keeping the CBR high and the CDR low.
Logan planned to put Patton into this branch.
Branch 5-9: Frontline
This branch was exclusively made for people fighting in the war. They were the soldiers who rushed in first.
Logan had set Roman to be put into this branch.
Branch 5-6: Suicide Bombers
This branch trains soldiers to sacrifice their lives for their country.
Logan planned to put Remus into this branch.
Branch 16-5: Janitorial Services
The name should make it pretty self-explanatory.
Logan had contemplated putting Virgil into this branch.
Q: Who did Logan work for?
A: Dr. Logan Berry was a government scientist.
Q: Who did Picani work for?
A: Lieutenant Emile Picani worked for the country that Logan's country was at war with.
Q: What was Logan's end goal?
A: Okay I'm gonna have to do a bit of explaining for this one.
Logan lives in a dystopian universe, where his country's population and resources are declining, they are constantly at war, and the poverty rate is high. (I didn't explain that cuz it kinda ruined the whole "I've just stumbled upon this file and I'm reading it now" vibe)
In order to continue fighting in the war against Emile's country, the government enlisted the help of Logan to train some of the homeless population to benefit the country.
Therefore, Logan's end goal was to turn these five homeless men into upstanding citizens, who would directly help their country.
Circling back to the first question, you can't really say for certain that Logan's cause was good or bad. Both could be argued for.
Q: What experiment was Logan doing? (Like the purpose)
A: As Logan put it: "Everything I did was for the benefit of my country."
Q: Was there a specific reason that Logan chose them, or were they just random people who he chose?
They were random, cuz I'm too lazy to think of why he would choose them specifically.
RIGHT! Let's talk about some stuff.
So the origins of this book are kinda lame ngl.
I posted on my conversations board: Which side do you think would be the hardest for me to write unsympathetic?
DeecravesBEANS said Logan, and I'm never one to pass up a challenge
Of course, I didn't actually start thinking of ideas until like a few weeks later. It only really came back to me when Dee asked if they could help me with it.
The "mad scientist Logan" idea came to me pretty easily. I wanted to base the book off the concept of Environmental Determinism, and that's what I came up with.
Making it files, though? That was Dee's idea. And to think, I almost didn't go through with it.
I wrote all of the chapters on a google document, and just copy and pasted them into Wattpad. That baby was 35 pages long 😀😄😀
FUN FACT: This was the first time I ever killed off Roman, and it physically hurt. It won't be the last tho. Not gonna explain.
I plan to make 2 new books relatively soon.
One is Demus.
The other is based off a prompt.
Be on the lookout! I'll give you a sneak peek into the prompt one:
---
"It is I! The Vanquisher!"
"Who?" The Prince tilted his head. The Vanquisher faltered.
"Th-The Vanquisher? The one who robbed the mayor's office once?" He tried, but The Prince only stared at him blankly. "I've killed people, man!"
"Not ringing any bells." The Prince shook his head. "You're gonna have to be more specific."
"I-I..." The Vanquisher sighed, flushing in embarrassment. "...you called me 'Pissy Patrick.'"
"Oh! You're the guy who peed himself when I showed up!" The Prince laughed, causing The Vanquisher to flush further. "I remember you! How's it going, Pissy Patrick?"
"Shut up! My name isn't even Patrick!" The Vanquisher growled. The Prince only laughed, relaxing himself.
"Oh! I thought it was a serious threat!" The Prince snorted. "Okay, piss boy, why don't you let all these people go, huh?"
---
The Vanquisher isn't even a recurring character, but I just thought this scene was nice, but didn't give too much away.
I think that's it?
Thank you very much for reading this book!
Until next time!
Yours,
The Author :)
