Chapter 2 - Eventually
*A/N: Picture is Lila's outfit*
Thursday 3rd Period:
I couldn't have ran fast enough out of that class. My feet carried me down the hall to my next class in the next building over. I only got about 10 steps when I halted; remembering something. The crowd of students was small at first so no one minded my sudden stop.
I turned on my heels and power walked back to the class. As much as I didn't want to return there, I was increasingly coming closer to the classroom.
I stopped in front of the door and waited for the students to file out before I saw the one I was looking for. Hunter. He was walking with Ross Riddick, one of his best friends. Ross had dark brown hair like Hunter, but was shorter. He was known for being Hunter's wing-man in almost anything. But still a bad boy.
Hunter placed a hand on the door to hold it open and continued to talk to his friend. Jumping in front of him, he stopped and looked at me confusedly. He was taller than I thought and I ended up looking like midget compared to him. I was 5'3" feet and he was at least 5'6". Ross stared at me too.
"Hunter, I need my pencil back..." I started. He smiled as he realized why I had stopped to talk to him. His smile turned from genuine to evil in a matter of seconds. I could see the change in his eyes and knew I had made a mistake.
"Nah." He said. Looking around like it was nothing. He flung his hair to the side so it was now out of his eyes.
"What?" I was shocked. Did he really just refuse to give me back my pencil? I gave that out of pure kindness to humanity, and this is how he repays me!
"I think I'll keep it." He said, snapping me out of my thoughts, then proceeding to swerve around me like I was invisible. He held up the pencil in his hand, it's green plastic shimmering in the artificial hallway light.
"Hunter, give it back." I caught up with him and reached to grab it. He moved his hand away and placed the pencil in his other hand. I moved in front of him. He was still walking forward and I walking backwards carefully. Hunter smiled that despicable smile that made my nerves snap even more. Ross was laughing next to him.
"Hunter!" I said. I seriously didn't have time for this. I was going to be late. I couldn't have that. Not now, not ever. Especially with some lame excuse that I was fighting a this boy for a stupid pencil. I played his game for a while longer, him moving the pencil out of my reach back and forth. I was too short to reach any place he moved it away from me, but I continued to hop like an idol down the hall as I tried to retrieve the utensil.
Hunter chuckled and looked down at me. I had given up. I sighed and stared at him with furious eyes. It really had no effect on him. He still seemed like his normal, trouble maker self. I really did hate him right now.
"You'll get it back eventually." He turned a corner in the hall. Albeit my class was the other direction, I followed him down the hall like a lost puppy.
"Eventually?!?" I repeated.
"Yes. Now shoo!" he spun around gracefully and waved his hands in my face playfully. I was beyond angry now. I was burning up inside. Why did this have to happen to me?
I stopped in the hall. He watched me and continued to walk backwards with Ross. Finally, I officially gave up and turned back to the direction of my class. As I was walking, the warning bell rang in my ears, signaling that I had approximately 45 seconds to get to class...which was across campus.
Shit.
