Attack on The School

Nothing happened since then. I saw Logan a couple of times in classes and outside, and everything was normal. We went about or daily lives. As mutants.

But a couple nights later, that changed.

I awoke for an unknown reason. My eyes drifted around the room. The moonlight shone bright in the sky through the window. The room was silent except for the occasional snoring from Eli. I got silently up from my bed and headed out the door. I sometimes walk around before I go to bed. Mostly to get away from the snoring.

I walked down the hall silently in my tank top and pajama pants. I heard a helicopter pass by over the school.

There was a window at the end of the hall, in which lights flashed outside. Curious, I walked towards the window, and peered out. There was also another window at the other end of the hall.

Soon, I saw people, outside the window in black suits. They ran around with items in there hand. They also looked like they were about to do something dangerous.

I ran back to the dorm to warn the others about this, but before my hand could reach the doorknob, the people in black suits busted through the windows, causing glass to shatter everywhere. It scarred me, and when I turned my head to look at them, they carried big, bright, flashlights. It lit up the entire hall.

I accidentally looked at one of them, when it shone on me. It blinded me for a minute, causing me to fall back on the floor. The world wiz zed by me as I tried to regain control around me. When my vision was better, I burst into the dorm room. There stood Caleb, about to turn his head to look at the flashlight from one of the people that entered through the window.

"No!" I said. I shot a force field to go in front of his eyes (my powers have gotten better and I have increased skill). The force field was also colored black, instead of blue, like sunglasses. This blocked the harsh light from Caleb and he was able to see for a moment, before he grabbed his guns and shot the man in black.

I removed the force field from his eyes sight and ran over to now awake Eli and Avery.

"What's going on?!?" Eli wailed.

"I don't know. There are people breaking in the school." I stated the obvious. Soon, I could hear people screaming and running around outside the door.

"We have to help the others" Avery said like she read my mind. Caleb walked over to the door, making the glass shards sink into the floor. He grabbed his guns and we followed him as he walked out the door into the hallway.

The other kids on our floor were screaming and running around as flashlights shone in there eyes.

"Ok, here's what we are going to do." Caleb talked calm like he wasn't panicking. "Isabel, try to get force fields around as many kids' eyes as you can. Eli, you cover her." I nodded. "Avery and I will take out anyone that harms any children. Alright, let's go." I ran down the hall in my bare feet and generated a black force field. I moved it to a kid that lay on the floor. I moved into the next kid and the next kid. I did this for every kid I saw. While I did this, Eli made sure no people in black got in my way, by throwing spikes at them.

Soon, we made our way through the hallways and my energy level was draining fast. Making to many force fields and controlling all of them, keeping them alive, takes a lot of my strength. Eventually, I fell to the ground and crawled around a corner. Sweat poured down my head, and my eyes fought to stay open. I leaned my tired back against the wall and observed my surroundings.

The men in black weren't hurting any of the children. They carried flashlights. What do you need a flashlight for? To see. See what? We're they looking for something?

My thoughts were interrupted by Eli crouching down next to me. I panted as he opened his mouth to speak. But I was quicker.

"Go! Help the others. Go find our group. I'll stay here and keep the force fields up." I said, gasping for breath. Ugh, holding force fields is hard. Eli zoomed off with my words and I sat there. When a kid walked by, I tried my best to place a force field on them. But soon, it was all too much. I waited for as long as I could. I think it was about 15 minutes until Caleb came over. He was blurry in my vision, but I knew it was him.

"Hey." He said, his voice was soft and diminishing. "You can let go now."

I sighed and with my air let out, I let down the force fields. Energy filled my body slowly. Caleb crouched at my side, he smiled. I looked over at him.

"Are they gone?" I asked, my voice scratchy. Air filled my lungs as I panted for breath, my back hurting from sitting behind the corner too long. Caleb grabbed my hand and twined my fingers with his. I gripped his hand hard as sweat and a small tear came down my cheek. The dark hallways were creepily still. The screaming and running we're gone, and Eli and Avery were no where to be seen. It was just me and Caleb, sitting in the hallway.

"They're gone."
