......One.....

Mitch scaled the jungle wood behind Jerome, his big brother, giggling as his furry tail brushed his nose and tickled it lightly. Claw marks were etched into the trees around them, claiming certain ones as homes with the enclosures built high above the moist soil to ensure they would stay hidden from most predators or hunters that traversed through this area.

The two scrabbled up onto the wooden planks known as the floor, placed intricately and carefully between and on the branches reaching from the long, soft trunk. The sound of clicking nails and squeaking sneakers resonated off the leafy canopy that protected their home, shortly slowing to a halt as the duo placed their leather sacks down in the kitchen and pulled out essential ores; coal, iron, and three diamonds.

Brown furred paws and callused hands sorted through and placed the items into their respectful chests, leaving the diamonds out for a weapon Jerome had been waiting for a long time. His ears flopped toward the other boy as he sighed contentedly and dusted his hands off to get rid of any debris that had been floating around the cave systems or clung to the mining materials.

"That was some trip, am I right, Mitch?" The furry creature breathily asks, shifting himself so he's right next to his younger brother, trying to lighten the dreary atmosphere that had seemed to be hanging around the other boy the whole day. "Come on, Biggums. What's wrong?" The youngest brother's mouth stretched into a frown, his hazel orbs glazed over in thought.

The Bacca shoved his younger brother lightly, own gray eyes darkening in worry for his health. He didn't know a lot about humans, but he was sure it was unhealthy to be sad for this long. Sure, Mitch wasn't his biological brother, but he acted like one, and Jerome cared about him like a family member. "Why can't everyone treat me like them?" He sighs, resting his head on the fluffy shoulder of his elder brother.

The animalistic human blinks rapidly, a snarl twisting on his snout as his sharp ebony claws tap against the circular rock they were sitting around. "Are the youngsters bullying you again, Mitch?" He growls, already pushing himself up and towering over the boy. With a shout, Jerome's brother pulls him down again immediately, always frowning down upon skirmishes that seemed to break out around the pack normally.

"No, no! It's just everyone treats me like someone who could crack or break at the fraction of pressure....." He sighs, blowing his chocolate locks out of his eyes with a huff. A door slams open, the thump of something heavy thrown carefully onto the ground. "Boys! I'm home!" A new gruff vocal shouts as a coffee shaded Bacca limps in, dragging an elk behind him.

"I got us dinner!" He grins toothily as the two brothers lick their lips, stomachs growling in agitation of the meal ahead. Mitch had grown used to the food provided by the tribe, and he cherished it like any other. He had also grown accustomed to his surroundings, therefore gaining sensitive hearing, eyesight and smell.

"Well, what are you waiting for, kids? Dig in!"

Two humans stood quietly in the corner of an alley, shadows cloaking their figures as they conversed in low tones to each other, arguing back and forth fiercely.

"No! It's to dangerous! There had been rumors that something has been attacking people in those parts!" One growled, gripping the others shoulder protectively, shaking the human lightly to knock some sense into him.

The duo had been at each other's necks for three days, one paranoid of the creatures that lived where they were going, and the other to stubborn to believe anything about any legends that people had told--if they even made it out alive.

"I don't care! We're getting that wood no matter what! Do you really believe in those stupid stories made to scare children!" Another whispered harshly, wrenching himself out of the alternate man's grip as he turns away frustratingly. They both grunt in annoyance before storming off to get the company ready.

They would set off at the break of dawn.
